I only practice part time so I am frugal and try to keep my cost low as possible, but if you do not mind spending $780 a year to prescribe then you should be satisfied with this EHR. Pros I loved the ease of set up. The importation of patient information from another EHR was quick. They have a to-do list on the initial screen that walks you through each step to set everything up as well. It assures you do not forget anything. When you log in the to-do list will appear so you can stay on top of tasks. I loved the integration of telehealth into the system and the charting template. You can also easily upload and share documents with patients. The customer service is great. They are really responsive and follow up to make sure that everything is good to go. They also personally reached out to see how I was enjoying the EHR which was nice. What I was really impressed with was how fast they set up the e-Rx and EPCS features. It takes other EHRs forever to get this done, especially the EPCS but they set both up in less than a week. They also assisted with setting up the PMP for my state. You can add multiple locations if you practice in more than one place which is really neat. Cons The cost of the e-prescribe feature. At the time of this review it is currently $65/ month in addition to the base cost of the EHR. This is expensive compared to similar softwares. They should consider a one time set up fee for EPCS and lowering the cost of prescribing. I get the need to raise the prices but to go back on the original deal, I am sorry that I have chosen this software. Pros The salesman was very knowledgeable and I liked that it was only for mental health. There are many features such as the telehealth, credit card processing and the client portal that was very attractive. Cons They sold me on Therapy Notes with one price, then they back tracked on some pricing for supervisors. I complained and then they honored the original sale. Then before I had it for 30 days, they raised all the prices and went back on the original deal of not charging for supervisors. I have complained and they are sorry for my frustration but it remains the same - they sold me pricing on the software and then changed it all within 30 days. I am not happy. Also, I would appreciate various fillable forms so clients can complete it through the system. Also, a flat rate billing fee opposed to a per submission fee would be beneficial. A real person, not an chatbot that can only answer concrete questions, no language barriers or "boxed" answers sending you down a rabbit hole. A real person responds quickly with simple and easy to implement instructions on any issue. I am not tech savvy and have never had any problems implementing all aspects of this platform. I have been in healthcare for nearly 40 years and have never seen such a truly wonderful product. Pros I have used TN for 10 years without one single negative experience. The customer service is incredible, fast, through answers to any issue. This was especially appreciated when I opened my private practice and was using TN for the first time. The customer service has remained excellent in my ten years as a customer. Scheduling, EMR, billing and accounting are just so easy, anyone can do it. Cons The only thing I wish they would add is an automatic transfer of discontinued medication into a past med trial section. Pros I love the intuitive structure of TN and the prompts that make everything easy to set up. TherapyNotes support desk is the absolute best I have ever encountered in any capacity or task. TN makes it easy to expand your practice and grow in ways that need business support without taking away from clinical time. I love the ability to give some transparency to the therapist that chose to work in my group. It is obvious they take client care seriously. I am able to reach a live person whenever I have tried and all of my emails are answered within a few hours to the next day. Cons Here is what I would like improved:1. Allow for recording of teletherapy sessions. This is vital for organizations with interns under supervision and individual practitioners attempting to gain certification in specialty areas.2. Make a more precise window for notifying patients of upcoming scheduled sessions. If the agency charges for appointments canceled within 24 hours, notification should come 25 hours before the scheduled appointment.3. Whether I am emailing or talking over the phone, they listen and are able to answer my questions with ease. They are always updating their product and listen to users when we have ideas or suggestions. Cons I have 2 cons to using this product. One is the lack of secondary billing, though I know they are working on it. The second is the lack of ease in trying to have a non-therapist or non-therapy related events through the platform. I have a yoga teacher on staff and I would love to be able to incorporate her schedule into the platform. I offer Reiki sessions and struggle to find an easy way to get someone set up and scheduled. It felt like it ws set up for huge hospitals and not a small mental health practice like mine. Cons Previously when I left one practice to begin a new one I was unable to easily transfer my records to a different practice code. I'm also unable to easily remove past billing on people's billing history that I wasn't yet using therapy notes for billing but was still using you guys for notes. January 7, 2024 5.0 Several years ago I was providing services for people who had litigation/disability/workers comp. issues and the format and ease to send documents was critical in meeting their needs. As well as CYA as a clinician. (No small concern in this day and age.) Within the first year of my work with TherapyNotes, they were hacked and seriously compromised. It was then that I encountered the outstanding customer service and support. They worked around the clock to resolve the problem. Their customer support has not wavered or even fluctuated. My previous encounters with EHR were through hospitals and agencies (since 2007) and, in comparison, I find Therapy Notes equal and even surpassed other systems . Pros The company continues to grow, expand its' services and scope, without losing their outstanding level of customer support. Like many other senior clinicians, we have had to adapt to electronic medical records systems and billing after years of handwritten forms. The conversion has been daunting . When I changed billers last year, the fact that she could administer through TN actually deducted a percentage from her monthly fee. I am in the process of assisting patients in creating portal accounts so that I can use their telehealth platform. I've been with doxy.me for years and am not exactly pleased with their product. Cons Notes have to be completed before claims sent. This isn't always practical, although it does help with motivation to stay in front of charting. I wish it was easier for patients, especially elderly ones, for them to use the Telehealth without setting up an account. That in itself is a barrier. Review Source IA Ileana A. Pros I love the overall professional presentation of the software. It is clear that Therapy Notes values this and that they work hard to not compromise this. It plays out in the way that they will take their time to carefully design and implement new features and the existing ones are relevant and well thought out. It is evident that they are concerned most with ethics and best practice in the mental healthcare field and not in pleasing everyone because designing a database is not in most clinician's wheelhouse. They have a big job with what they do and this clinician appreciates how they are doing it and the fruits of their labor. Cons I do wish the portal could be a little more robust but again, this is something that I know they are working on and there are details that they are considering that are out of my scope. Will be switching to a different system soon. Pros Great therapy note template. Ease of charging copays to client. Easily pull in intake information, however some of the intake is pyschotherapy based and not medication provider based. Cons Medication provider notes are all free text. The system constantly lags no matter what intenet connection I use or that I clear my internet history and cache daily. Tech support tells me that the lag is me and my connection. Sending prescriptions is a nightmare, the tab to aend prescriptions will disappear and then reappear and then that tab takes 2-3 minutes to load. Then if a prescription does not go through since this does not communicate with therapy notes there is no notification. Review Source HD Howard D. It is an ever evolving therapist oriented office support platform and I have always found it to be helpful. I am struggling with it, at this time however, because I am having to (at 53 y.o) learn how to do my own billing and am often lost in these very spooky woods alone. Superivising someone else's organization and simply paying attention to generated reports is a very different experience to running my own practice without a dedicated billing support team. Pros Simple, elegant, excellent User Interface; Easily Learned; Excellent ease of record entry, maintenance, and search; Internet accessibility; Marvelous Calendar system; Amazing Customer Support team. Cons Benefits and billing system needs to be integrated into the package; I have been unable to write notes and bill according to my own method (free form progress note without DAP/SOAP/etc format); notes are completely reliant upon connection to treatment plan in software which does not allow me to write a note in my best manner and to bill afterwards. I need a billing professional connected with my efforts to submit and track my billing, do reconciliations, or a long, in-depth training with a staff member who can teach this to me. It is my weakness but I need this to be able to have full reliance upon the software. I simply wish to see clients and find a way to automate everything else as smoothly as possible with very little difficulty. This issue set forced me into hiring Theranest as, with Theranest, I can operate how i do (in-paper chart Treatment Plan and Coping/Safety Plan; writing a process note and billing from that); Lack of ability to communicate with Google (via my iPad's) calendar is a very severe, serious, and ongoing frustration. I was new to the Apple I wanted, and needed, to have the ability to access client records and calendar on the go via the internet while moving around a 13 county area of service provision in Montana. This was 8+ years ago. I spoke with the gentleman who created the system when I called and thought that was great! He was very understanding and quite open with me about plans for future development which would be able to encompass my ideas for what I would ultimately want in a software package like this. So, I thought yo myself, why not support them? It was a great decision!!! I have not yet regretted it. And, even though I use another platform for my billing needs for now, I will not leave TherapyNotes as I eagerly await its slow, but methodical and meticulous, development into the platform I am seeking to have for my ideal practice management software package. When I am not able to figure out how to change or input information, Support has always been friendly and helpful. Pros Integration was easy once all the patients were added. Overall, user friendly. Cons It is rare, but I have encountered clients with more than two types of insurance, and it can get complicated. I do think that TN support staff are helpful.
