Co-Founder Used the software for: ### "Love them more if they'd add more features" July 23, 2013 4.0 I actually love Therapy Notes--it's by far the easiest, most intuitive mental health potential-EHR solution out there. It lacks a few features, like batch billing, EHR-certification, patient portal, etc. to make it as competitive as it needs to be. Until it adds certain features, it can't compete as well with other companies, but once it does, there will be no contest! I would give customer service a higher rating, but the representatives don't seem to always know what's in the works and could provide more information if they kept up on what is in development and tried harder to communicate where the company is going. Pros I have used and implemented Behavioral Management Software for more than 25 years for psychiatric hospitals, residential programs and drug programs. This is one of best programs I have used in years. Its interface is simple and integrates the current demands of a private practice--Notes, Billing, Scheduling & Reminders. Additionally I love the reminders of what documentation is needed. I could not recommend it more. I have used other EMRs and this is simply the best. Pros The person who designed the program often answers the phone when you call. If he does not someone else does. They answer your questions. The to do list is great for me as I have so much to do I forget easily. The program flows easily. They actually implement suggestions. It's easy to use and organizes so many aspects of the practice in one place - scheduling, record-keeping, and billing. The electronic billing is a breeze and eliminates a lot of hassles. I also supervise several clinicians and TherapyNotes makes it easy to keep track of multiple clinicians' schedules, review their notes, etc. I've found TherapyNotes to be responsive to customer service requests as well as to suggestions for improvement. Easy to use, easy to bill, fairly easy for most things. Cons You have to write a treatment plan for every client which is time consuming and not always in line with all treatment modalities. I did a trial period and was impressed with how simple and helpful the design is. The whole set up makes the "business/documentation" side of practice very streamlined and efficient. This in turn allows me to spend more time focusing on clinical issues. TN is the best program available and I am so grateful to be using it. Though the other was less expensive I knew that overall TN was a MUCH more solid product. The product and service is awesome. Can't say enough good about it and them. There are many aspects that we love. Especially the ability to complete a diagnosis and have that information populate into a tx plan and then have that information populate into our progress notes. That streamline is efficient and helpful for our clinic. In addition that streamline allows us to comply our notes with Medicaid/Medicare regulations/rules. Cons We have noticed more bugs in the past year as Therapy Notes adds more updates and accommodates needs of more practices. Customer service both by phone, email and the web help has been excellent. Two minor concerns are 1) the system went down a week or so ago--that concerns if that happens, brings business to a halt. The other concern is specific to my case. I need supervisor to review only certain insurance companies and there is not an option to manually choose that. If there is ever anything I don't know how to use I contact customer service easily through the program and get a quick response answering my question. There are so many great features. My clients especially love the automated text, email and phone call appointment reminders. The billing is very easy. The assessment and progress notes include everything you need and actually make doing your notes less dreadful. I think the cost is very fair for all that it offers. I have recommended therapynotes to several of my fellow therapists. It has definitely made the administrative side of my practice more efficient so I can focus on my clients and clinical growth. Pros The EDI feature. I have saved a great deal of time and money since they integrated the clearinghouse into the software. Cons The billing page could be clearer.
