The program is user friendly and all of my practice needs are in one place--from intake to progress notes to billing and accounting. The best part of TherapyNotes is the phenomenal customer service! In all of the years working with them every customer support specialist has been friendly, professional, and extremely helpful! I have never been disappointed! Pros I love that this program accommodates all of my needs in one easy to use program! Cons There are some forms that are missing from the library. I am able to use my own forms but it would be wonderful if the software offered a way for me to load a form that is fillable and sign-able in the portal. Review Source DR David R. December 21, 2021 5.0 Has made my practice so much easier and efficient and I feel sorry for my colleague who don't use it and then have to scramble when they are required to provide medical records. Best thing I could have done for my practice-a great company and a great product with outstanding customer service. I will be a loyal customer for many years to come! Pros I've been using this product since 2012 and I've only grown more in love with it. I love that they have consistently worked to make the product better and more user friendly and have been flexible in changing with the times and staying current on trends (i.e. tele behavioral health) and changes in the behavioral healthcare environment. I also very much appreciate that the monthly fee has not increased over the years and the product is better than ever. Cons No complaints; any issues I had have been addresed over the years. Cons I am not a big fan of the telehealth feature - it costs more to host more than one client/family member and I don't think you can screen share. It allowed us to keep ahead of all the other units in productivity and process efficiency. Their customer service reps were also quite helpful in helping us resolve any issues that come up. Pros There are many documentation templates to choose from that allow me to easily customize to suit the different kinds of sessions I juggle through each work day. TherapyNotes also allows note taking right from the To-Do List, which reduces the time spent navigating between different pages and features. Cons Records filing can be improved a bit more with better advanced indexing and tagging. We have had a few cases where we struggled to find documentation that were improperly named by our administrative staff. January 15, 2024 5.0 Pros I like everything about therapy notes. Suggestions of changes and additions are listed below. Cons The scheduling view is not good with the amount of providers we have. We are unable to view all providers on the schedule at one time. Also would like the ability to compete forms on a clients behave with the client in session. The forms should be able to be downloaded in PDF format and printable format. The ability for 2 Supervisors’s to sign off on clinical documents when needed. We need The ability to not allow counselors to delete a task on their to do list. Only supervisors or practice admins should be allowed to do this. Pros I am so happy to report that this year I do not have to update my paperwork and load it into Therapy Notes. Yayyyy!!! TN has recently updated the library to include everything that I need as a clinician. This makes me very happy. Every time that I call they are always friendly and helpful. They know exactly how to help me and they never make me feel bad about not knowing how to navigate some areas within TN. They always follow up with an email to explain the process that they just showed me. I am very pleased with TN. I have used other EHR's and I love this one the best. It's not too simple and not too difficult to navigate. Keep up the great work. Cons Initially, it was the paperwork issue where I had to make my paperwork web-friendly so that my clients could complete it online, but now that this is no longer a problem I have no cons with TNs. Well-designed for use with families and minors. Billing features met my needs as a practitioner not accepting insurance. Cons Infrastructure problems abound with TN. There was a multi-day service outage in the summer of 2017, with little communication from the company to customers during the outage and no compensation for the downtime. In December 2017/January 2018, I finally lost my patience with the platform when the company decided to implement a major change in the database mid-week and the database upgrade destabilized the platform resulting in more downtime. Regarding the software... Your notes will be top-quality notes, but they will take you forever to write because the workflow is overly rigid. There is no way to customize what questions are asked in intake notes, progress notes, termination notes, etc. Text fields are too small, and only unformatted text is permitted. File attachments cannot be added to notes. There is currently no way to use the patient portal to have clients fill out forms, pay bills, send/receive documents, and perform secure messaging. No mobile app. No two-way sync with calendars means constantly having to check two calendars. 10 MB limit on file uploads. I was on the platform for almost 3 years and saw only very minimal feature enhancements/additions. And get ready for a very poor user experience when you decide to leave the platform; plan to basically download thousands of resources manually with no help from the dev team. When I sent feedback to the dev team on my way out, they defended their poor design choices and offered kludgy workarounds rather than listen. Review Source CM Chris M. They go above and beyond to make sure you as a provider or user have the help and support you need. They are constantly making improvements in the software and they make taking care of the paperwork end of business so easy. I have had pleasant and great experiences every time I call their support team with questions. No question is left unanswered nor are they too trivial. They try to make the product as user friendly as possible and are there to guide you through it all. I love that my notes are professional and easily read, all information that needs to be in them are there, I once got audited on a couple of clients by Medicaid and it was so easy to pull up what I needed and get it sent in. Passed with flying colors because all that I needed was in the note format. My clients all get a reminder text or call and they love it. I appreciate all the hard work they do on their end to make this a top of the line product for those of us on the front lines with clients. Billing is easy and user friendly. i would and have recommended this company to anyone looking for a good safe and professional product to help you in keeping documentation and billing orderly and consistent with expectations of our fields of practice. Notes are professional and clear, easy to read, treatment plans are wonderfully easy and all you need for notes are available for documentation. Their billing is easy and support is a phone call or email away. I have used the product for 3 years plus and have never had a bad experience with the company. I am an independent contractor... and I guessed on the first page that our practice is close to 20 people now. Pros I can do everything from progress notes to billing and patient scheduling. It's great to have one-stop-shop with TherapyNotes. Cons Actually, I did not like having to manually enter the client's insurance information from their insurance form; however, this has since been upgraded so their insurance form is now generated into their Billing Settings which saves me a lot of time. They have changed everything that they started with. Cons Absolute garbage! 2 days the eRx doesn't work. Waiting in a queue will easily take 45-60 mins. Website has been glitching for months. No compensation or sincere apologies for wasting our time. It used to be good when it started now they just seem greedy for cash and up charge for everything with no customer service. I had one customer service call that left me less than enthused, but when I had my more recent call, the tech was not only helpful with regard to the known things the product can do, but helped me figure out a solution to my issue by using her test system to see how changes impacted the system. Her trouble shooting skills were excellent and appreciated. Pros My rating is based on what I felt was an excellent customer service experience with their tech help team. The member with whom I interacted was not only knowledgeable about the product, she demonstrated a problem solving aptitude which greatly helped me find the answers I needed. She was helpful throughout the process and provided excellent notes to help me implement the solutions at which we arrived. Cons Regarding Therapy Notes in total, I have my frustrations with the system, particularly around reports and getting information out of the system (although I admit that may be somewhat user error/ignorance at play). I wish it had a check-in feature and a better "appointment count" process than the note count. I wish certain reports were tied to the actual date of the appointment and not things like "when the note was completed" or "when the payment was input." Review Source BM Brent M. Pros Scheduling is quick and easy, portals are easy to set up, can upload new documents into portals whenever it is necessary, support is always wonderful Cons Cannot send claims for secondary insurance, have to do this externally. July 19, 2023 5.0 As my business has grown, TherapyNotes has been able to support my needs. Pros I chose TherapyNotes because of the accessiblity to live customer help. I'm not very tech savvy and have called more times than I would like to. EVERY TIME my issue has been resolved. They understood my questions which I didn't feel were very clear and they patiently walked me through how to navigate the issue. The phone call is then followed up with a detailed email of what we have discussed. (I have a folder full so that I can review it when the issue comes up again). In addition, it provides all the services I need for a reasonable price. Cons It would be nice if there were a link that was sent out for telehealth along with the appointment reminders.
