August 17, 2023 5.0 Very pleased :) Pros It's very easy to use and honestly, the customer service is the best I have experienced! Cons Adjusting secondary claims that have already processed. It requires a lot of steps to send them via paper when certain insurance companies won't allow for electronic submission.I would also like the option to run a payroll report and track it over time. Reason for choosing TherapyNotes, LLC I have used it in the past, it is easy for me to figure out, it offers everything I need to run my practice except a payroll report, and the clearinghouse does a good job. Cons Nothing in particular; maybe more of an overview of how insurance billing works, and what acronyms like ERT and others might mean to ME in terms of process; maybe a video related to the features of CardPointe. I only learned about the dashboard features on a call to their customer service, trying to figure out why co-pay charges deposited directly to my bank did not directly align (because some get "batched). Reason for choosing TherapyNotes, LLC I liked TherapyNotes appointment scheduling process, Initial Assessment and Progress Note formats, and Client Portal much more than these same features in TheraNest, and for some reason I am able to move much more rapidly around in TherapyNotes than in Nest, which is related to the better "underlying logic" of the software that is hard to describe any other way. Also, Nest seems to have a bunch of superfluous stuff I don't need or use day to day, while Notes is more lean, having everything I need without extra junk. Review Source TH Tinya H. April 10, 2023 5.0 I could go on and on, however, you have to try the software to really seen the ease of operation and the benefits of a subscription. Pros I absolutely love Therapy Notes! I have reviewed other EHR but they they do not compare. Why do I believe that Therapy Notes is the best? First, Therapy Notes offers the majority of services needed to successfully operate my private practice on my own. Secondly, the software is very easy to learn and use. I began using Therapy Notes at least 10 years ago and since that time all of my records have been concise and easy for auditors to review. I could go on and on, however, you have to try the software to really seen the ease of operation and the benefits of a subscription. I've been pleasantly surprised over and over again as they continue to improve on what was already a clean, intuitive program. Pros Customer support is superb, especially compared to the practice management software we were using prior. Therapy Notes constantly improves and updates, adding both free and paid features. Updates are never disruptive and always ultimately improve our workflow. Cons Enrollment for ERAs, EFTs, and EDI could be smoother- the clearinghouse is a separate entity, and the instructions they provide through Therapy Notes aren't always clear or complete. February 27, 2024 5.0 TherapyNotes took away 95% of my anxiety around billing, coding, interfacing with clients and insurance companies. For the most part it is quite easy to navigate the various functions within the platform. When I did need some help correcting a mistake I made, \[sensitive content hidden\] from customer service was fantastic! Pros It keeps me very organized and provides my clients with a user friendly and professional platform. Cons I really can't think of anything that rises up to the level being a complaint. The turnaround time is rapid, and I mean rapid. At times it has been within minutes. They are so easily accessible and so courteous and efficeint. If all companies operated with this model, medical offices everywhere would have a lot more smiling faces!! Pros This is such a user friendly interface. I am not technologically astute and this software is very easy to learn, it is so logical and straightforward. I love that it saves information enterened in previous sessions, such as MSE, medications, etc. and lows you to edit and adjust for current session rather than re-enter all of the data. There is no redundancy or series of non applicable boxes to check throught that you encounter in other EMR’s. Cons I wish there was part of the software that would save past med trials. I enter them in my intial eval, but they do not save and as I try and discontinue medications, I would like them to be saved. I have asked about this and told I can enter them in the area saved for notes on medications, but I would like it to save on med list automatically. Review Source vC vincent C. Pros I hope it will prevent the loss of records and improve the ease of retrieval of records when needed. It will use the same format for all records so less confusion or missed forms Cons the program "requires" the insertion of a date of birth before the client can get signed in. Psychology today does not ask these questions when a client clicks in to see me. So no3w I have to call the client to get date of birth. Why can't we sign someone in and then ask for date of birth. We started with Therapy Notes and as we grew we changed and went to another software, Big Mistake, we returned to Therapy Notes. We continued to grow and had our billing service contracted out, we had to change software to accommodate the billing company. Another BIG Mistake, not on the billing company just on software, we released the company and returned to Therapy Notes, we will not be moving again......We are pleased with therapy notes and the billing. Pros Billing is so easy and it gives you billing at your finger tips, it is user friendly and the staff is awesome on assisting if you are not sure how to utilize all the features. Cons the billing notes and rejection of claims, are a bit unfriendly. It is hard for me to keep up with who has not paid. On the initial assessment when audit, it lacks the auditors need. We are in NC and the initial assessment require different things than on the psychotherapy intake note. We are almost a year in business and we wouldn’t have been able to succeed without Therapy Notes. Pros The support staff is amazing. They are always friendly and extremely capable. They are also available 24/7. Cons I haven’t found anything I don’t like about Therapy Notes. As a single user practice, it's hard to get everything done, but with the To-Do tab reminding me when notes and billing need to be processed, I stay on track. Cons There are still a few changes I'd like in the demographic fields related to gender and affectional orientation, but TherapyNotes is always listening and makes changes often. The fee is so much less than what you would pay to have an actual person doing this for you. Time commitment is minimal and new products/services are always in process. TN really keeps up with the current needs of private practice clinicians. Thumbs up!! Pros There is nothing that it doesn't do, well accept some telemental health stuff, but even that they are working on. Anything we need, they are there to help and if they can't (hardly ever!) they look into it and before you know it, there's a new added feature to TN! For us part timers, they adjust the monthly fee, which is so helpful. I have been so happy with this help for my private practice! The pricing is competitive, especially for a non-profit, this has been a great selling point when compared to other companies. Pros I like that the software has a lot of built in features that are handy when starting to use the software. The company has also release a lot of great videos on youtube to help you navigate through the different options and features included in the software. I've used these videos to help find answers to questions. Next, it has been really easy for my clients to use as well. Their portal allows for easy transfer of paperwork and allows for clients to sign things electronically, so clients don't always have to download and sign the document then reupload it. Cons At this time, the telehealth feature doesn't have all the bells and whistles that Zoom or Microsoft Teams (MT) has. This is, from my understanding, a new feature so I hope they continue to work on this. Screen share or screen flipping would be helpful as I used these a lot during sessions when I used MT. It would also be useful if when you entered into the telehealth feature, it would open into a separate window so that you could still access the client's file or library. Although I did like the look of SimplePractice, I felt the consumer paid too much for just looks alone. In practice I feel that TherapyNotes is simpler for the therapists and clients. They are almost always available and help me with difficult questions. But the software itself is so intuitive you could figure most features out on your own...and trust me, I am not that great at technology. Pros The software is incredibly intuitive! The documentation options are current and has everything I need. The customer service is second to none! I am doing my own billing after never having billed on my own before, saving me $1,000's of dollars per year! I can sync my calendar with my personal calendar. The price is perfect for me! Cons I have not yet found any features that I do not like, other than wishing I could add my own "to do" items on my calendar. Maybe I can, and I just haven't discovered how to yet. May 18, 2023 5.0 I think it just has made the notes, assessment, and documentation easy for me. I feel confident that I am getting everything completed for my client's. I have private paying client's and I use an outside biller, but it has been very convenient to use for billing as well. Pros I love how easy it is to figure out when you first get started. I like the look of the scheduling, and the practicality of the EHR. Notes are a breeze to complete, and so are the treatment plans, and intake/discharge notes. It is also easy to send documents to clients, and you can also send assessment instruments for them to complete. Cons Nothing! maybe just a little pricey, but it's been worth it. What typically should take 15 minutes to chart can extend to an hour by the time all of the defaults are reentered. The quality of the prescription management system is not worth the price. Pros Out of box ready to go. Very, very simple. Cons Critical fields for audits are not present. You cannot add necessary fields. Race and ethnicity are way too complicated. There is NO WAY to set default field entries so you will spend a great deal of time repeating yourself. The fields do not follow standard assessment and documentation standards. July 24, 2018 2.0 I cannot recommend this produce. I raved about them three years ago, but now they care more about profit and covering their butts, than any customers! Pros Many of the features are easy to use, such as the notes and scheduling. Billing can also be easy if the insurance company accepts payment from TherapyNotes clearinghouse. Best feature by far is the reminder texts to clients! Cons The company has grown exponentially, at the customer's expense! They've switched building, added new staff, moved servers and replaced servers, added features, but the quality has suffered and the mistake have been adding up! I get lots of excuses, but no apologies! TherapyNotes servers crash oftens and I've lost notes several times! They have also been hacked and allow access to their internal system putting my records at risk. I could not get access to any client data for 3 days! Totally Unacceptable!! This month they made me accept a new privacy agreement (or not have access to my client data) that indemnified them from any responsibility for any errors or lost data or any hack and illegal use of our client data. I went to log-in on a Monday and the website said, sign our new agreement or you cannot access any of your files, data, schedules...nothing... that's holding my records for random! It has great built-in reminder features to make it simple to use from a clinical perspective. I particularly love how the treatment objectives auto-populate into progress notes to keep you on track with monitoring and updating those. It's also really functional from an administrative and billing user perspective. I run a group practice and am really happy with TherapyNotes - I especially love the prompt and thorough customer service - it really sets them apart. I also love how often TherapyNotes is updated and really appears to take feedback and suggestions from users to heart. I am super impressed with this company! Cons I wish I could create an intake questionnaire that can be filled out online through the portal. Simple Practice had this feature and it was really functional and easy for clients.
