Then I struggled with it and was frustrated (lack of knowledge on navigating) and my own difficulty knowing which variable to choose to get the desired results I'm looking for. However, I'm more comfortable navigating now since I use it daily. Pros I like the ability to pull together aggregate data in seconds (using customized assumptions) instead of having to create multiple reports Cons I can be tricky to learn how to use the software to its fullest. April 11, 2021 4.0 Domo is easy to use, and as a user experience the information provided is accurate; The interface is easy to understand since the first time and the data is uncomplicated to read. Pros \-Domo is allowed to export the information in the grids and graphics into an Excel document, whereby is completely useful. -Domo gives you an extract of the information, and if you need to add filters, you perfectly can click on the expand option and add it. -The data is easy to understand and analyze. -The interface is friendly. Cons \-Sometimes, Domo doesn´t charge properly, and you need to refresh the site multiple times. -Often, you need to wait a couple of minutes until the site shows you the information. It aims to make analytics the new water cooler of company discussion, replacing slack or chatter as the main company chat app. It's visualizations, while less sophisticated than Tableau/Qlik are much easier to create and visually attractive out of the box, and many of the features are copied from best-in-class social apps: From Pinterest, Boards with a scrolling list of pins, from Tumblr the ability to "reblog" or remix individual charts into your own dashboards, and to "follow" specific dashboards, Slack, excellent contextual chat system with alerts and @notifications. Domo also recognizes that analytics requires at least some implementation services to get the data organized and talking to each other and they are ready to provide this (for a fee) for companies that are missing in-house analytics expertise. Cons Expensive! There is a significant upfront fee plus large ongoing fees based on the number of users. Dome is simple, elegant, and has a huge amount of tools, so it is certainly a good acquisition. Pros The work panels with which the dome works allow you to keep accurate notes on each calculation made within the platform. Dome is integrated to data source services, and is interactive enough to not waste time with the customization of the panels and their deprivation. Cons When working with large-scale analytical processing through the web, the platform tends to decrease its performance depending on the amount of information with which it is working. Pros Very easy to get data from all your systems. Using basic to advanced SQL you can ETL the data with ease. Cons there could be some better out of the box chart types, sometimes it's difficult to configure the type of chart you're looking for, but i've found it is possible most of the time. October 11, 2018 3.0 Pros The interface is fairly minimal and easy to use for users who have less experience with this type of software. The card analyzer (where cards are designed) can be learned by most anybody. Dataflow creation (whether MySQL or ETL) has a good layout and is easy to follow. Really easy to train users who have no experience with SQL how to make dataflows by using the ETL. There is a good collection of training materials online. They also have a good community for support online. Cons When running a dataflow the processing is not done on-prem, it is fully subject to Domo servers in the cloud. Sometimes a dataflow that would normally take around 5 minutes will take an hour in order to run. We were told it wouldn't be a problem to run multiple dataflows at a time, but we've found that running two dataflows isn't that great in terms of speed and running any more than two at a time is just bad. Pros Domo does good with data and business analytics, but the program itself struggles. Cons It struggles in being reliable. It is constantly going down and the support is less than satisfactory. Like simple sizing of the card in edit dashboard mode using customized size option instated dragging to achieve the desired size. Customer service always replies initially, but never again after that. I am also never able to re-log in. Pros This software has a very thorough training that teaches new users how everything works. Cons I did not like how this software's data was scattered around the dashboard. It was hard to have a central location in which all of your data could be stored and accessible. Also, every time I use this software for a project I have to create a new account since my login information never works. You would think that this would not be able to happen, but I sign up every time with the same email and password and it acts like I never signed up before. Review Source PN Peter N. In addition to our BI team pulling their hair out on Sunday night and Monday morning, we had 2 interns whose entire job was just to create and maintain these reports and pull this data from different systems. Once we got Domo running and connected to all of our systems (both our own data as well as data from other websites like Google ad spend and Zoho) then not only did we get to have our interns do something valuable but we also weren't waiting until Monday to get insight... we could actually manage our business in something closer to real-time. Seems obvious but without Domo, I don't know how we'd do it. Pros Can connect to just about anything. Collaboration is easy. Easy enough on mobile that our executive team can use it. Cons Had to get a lot of people involved on our side at the beginning to hook up to all of our accounts. Maybe that's inevitable. Alerting is pretty basic, would like to see more there. It's easy to use and learn, and Domo provides a University where you can learn how to better use the system. It provides robust reporting and dashboards, and makes visualizing data easy. Pros I like that Domo is very easy to understand and start using. You don't have to have a technical background to learn how to use it. I also like the robustness of its reporting and dashboards. It's very easy to make powerful reports and dashboards and show them to other users. It's also very easy to pull reports and set up connections to external data sources. Cons Data management - changing data in the data source - is a little difficult to use and Domo doesn't integrate with everything, which causes us to need to create a custom connector for Domo to connect with some systems. In order for lots of employees to see these charts, they require logins which just keeps the cost going up higher and higher. Pros Reports are beautiful and can be customized in endless ways. Data integrations are numerous and allow companies to bring in data from a wide variety of sources. Data can be combined when otherwise impossible allowing for third party platform data to become more useful and provide further insights. Cons Pricing. Domo is very expensive compared to other platforms. Many similar software is out there now and is often times free or much smaller in cost. Domo can be very difficult to learn at first if you are not somewhat familiar with SQL. Review Source Jared L. I said I was interested in data visualization, and onscreen prompts walked me through every step of the process, even giving me example data to use. Overall, the visualizer is very user-friendly and a great tool for distilling complex data into digestible graphical representations. Cons The onscreen help prompts are so hard to read. They use white text on a light blue card and if my young eyes have trouble reading them, I wonder if they meet ADA contrast ratio standards. Review Source BG Bart G. Limited display functionality (presentation) with ScreenCloud (really could use a DOMO app for ScreenCloud). Improved sorting functionality for card users is needed. The ability to filter certain data and pull in a select number of products is a great advantage to using DOMO. Cons It is SO slow. I understand that DOMO is a 'real-time' data analysis software, but it is extremely slow. It makes finding data last minute very stressful. It also is a great tool for dataflows. To the level it is implemented into our company, it has become operational to communicate progress on a number of levels in the business. They also have excellent customer support. Cons Every once in a while I'll run into a bug that seems relatively obvious. Luckily they're usually addressed at some point. Seeing what fields were available was a nice peek into that complex world. Pros Real-time analytics and reporting is awesome! Having a desktop dashboard as well as an app is convenient as well. If multiple departments in your organization need this type of automated reporting, (and none of them are excel wizards) it is rather nifty to use Domo. Cons Very expensive unless you're using it in all departments of your company. Takes a little while to acclimate to the language/software used to create dashboard "cards".
