We didn't explore it much beyond that. Pros I used this product a couple years ago when I was an analyst at my market research company. We would use this software to see if our results were statistically significant. This software was able to quickly and efficiently conduct this analysis for us. Cons I didn't use this software for too much else. I also know that this software was acquired by Dynata and that relationship confuses me a bit. Allows us to put together tabs earlier in the fielding process and has significantly sped up our analysis. Pros User-friendly, easy to learn and allows us to start making tabs during the fielding process (prelim). This has totally shifted the work from the end of projects to the start. The ability to carry over variables and tabs from previous waves of a tracker is a huge time saver. Additionally, the functionality of having a labelling template where we can clean up our variable codes has been great for sending tabs to clients. Customer service is fantastic and we really enjoy how the software continues to be updated. Cons Some shortfalls in functionality. These are namely: 1) Cannot weight by segment. I have to weight all respondents in the file. 2) Append respondents function is complicated and messy, and often doesn't work. We often just have to upload a completely new file, rather than appending additional respondents. This takes a lot of additional time. 3) Respondent-level editing (data view) is still not that great of a functionality. It is difficult to code or change responses, as there are no functions like in Excel here (sort, filter, move columns, vlookup etc.) 4) Charting function is completely useless to us. We have very customized PowerPoint presentations, and thus have to enter the data manually still. It would be better to have a better link between PPT and the software. 5) Not clear on a roadmap of additional functionalities. Pros It's a much easier platform than SPSS, especially for tracker projects. MarketSight allows us to set up tabs and analyses before the project has even come out of field, and allows for more time for analysis and story telling rather than pulling numbers. Cons Right now they have started implemented advanced statistical analysis, but it can still be improved. I am looking forward to the day that I can easily run a regression on MarketSight. I'm not sure if older versions had data editing functions within the platform as an available upgrade, but I do like that as well - and also, though I have not had a need for them, the dashboard capabilities look nice. We will be experimenting more with those features to see if the upgraded version is worth it for us. Cons Rather than as part of an upgrade, I do with that a lot of the data editing capabilities were set in the pro version. It would be a huge time-saver if we could address mistakes right in the platform rather than going back out to clean data and then uploading it again. It allows us to analyze data many magnitudes more efficiently than any other software my company has used previously. It also automates tasks we used to do manually, which reduces room for human error and makes quality control much easier. I’ve worked in survey research for years and never seen a platform so well-designed and custom made for market researchers! Pros MarketSight is custom made for survey researchers. It allows you to upload survey data files easily to its platform, and run analysis on the results with lightning speed. It's very intuitive to use, and only takes a short time to learn. It is especially great for running crosstabs. It has really great customization options, including different ways to highlight statistically significant differences and the ability to net options together quickly. Cons No cons to mention really. There are a few things I've thought would make it even better if they integrated them into the platform, but all minor things, and their customer support has been very receptive to new feature requests, which they come out with pretty often.
