### "Use Drupal daily in my job as a web content editor"

April 13, 2018

4.0

Pros

This editing interface in Drupal is the easiest I have ever used in my 6+ years of web content creation and management.

Cons

The software is very customizable, which can be overwhelming. It should be utilized by groups with major web development experience on staff.

### "CMS packed with many features"

May 11, 2018

5.0

full featured CMS

Pros

Many features already available. A feature that might be premium in other CMS, it is free in Drupal. A very best CMS for developer.

Cons

Steep learning curve. It maybe because the admin dashboard was configured for developer, not for content editor.

### "Drpual: a Devleopers CMS (Content Management System)"

January 11, 2022

4.0

Drupal is great and I've used it numerous times for various web apps. It 'performs well with NGINX as caching. But its not for the faint of heart. It's not nearly as easy to use as something like WordPress, but it is flexible to do more application development than something that may be easier to use.

Pros

Drupal is open source. It's completely free to use and the code is public. This usually helps secure the code, since the public is scrutinizing it. Patches are released regularly.

Cons

The uprgade path is not the best. If you dont upgrade regularly, the uprgade path becomes complex.

### "Best for Building Enterprise class Web Applications."

May 19, 2021

5.0

Drupal is very scalable for developing enterprise standards intranet based applications.

Pros

I used lots of Content Management Systems for building website. Durpal is one of them it is older than the Wordrpess. It's custom content types and views are very flexible. Provides Access Control/ User Permission even you can create your own rules. It provides multilingual sites support without any third party extension. It is best suited for developing Enterprise and Intranet based applications.

Cons

Sometimes it hard to configure on web hosting site due to higher hardware requirements compare with other Content Management Systems. It customization is limited to compared with the most popular CMS Wordpress. It requires basic coding skill.

### "Probably my favourite CMS"

November 2, 2018

5.0

Pros

It's both easy to use, secure and customizable. I find it very intuitive for basic users, which is great when you need to grant editing access to several people (a bit less so for more advanced needs). It gives you the potential to do pretty much everything you need without affecting the security, and there's a big, helpful network of forums that can help you every time to get stuck.

Cons

Some of the most advanced features are not very intuitive, hence you struggle every time you need them -because you forgot where they were on the menus! Also, sometimes you need to find workarounds to get Drupal to do what you need to.

### "Drupal is a complex content management system and really shouldn't be used for simple brochure sites"

January 19, 2018

4.0

Pros

I like that there is a strong community support system of developers and programmers for this content management system. When looking for a module to use for whatever function you need, it's best to use that developer community and check out the reviews. The other thing to watch for is when it was last updated or modified. If it's a frequently updated or modified module, that should mean that people are using it and it is well maintained.

Cons

It is not blatantly apparent before you begin using this content management system that it is so super complex, that it's not a good product for simple brochure websites...

### "Intuitive and Low Cost CMS"

September 30, 2020

3.0

My internal development team wanted to spin up a quick website for internal communication. And, make it secure so only authenticated internal employees could login to see confidential company information. Drupal open source CMS was able to do this implementation at low cost using developers who had the experience in using CMS like Drupal. For ongoing maintenance or upgrades of our company website, we had to refer to online documents provided by Drupal. So, additional human support can help lift its value more.

Pros

My web development team uses Drupal as their coding platform for our internal communications website. Since that website has limited requirements such as posting news about company performance, new employees hired, update on payroll, comments from employees, share and so on, our developers are able to leverage an open source CMS to maintain or update the site. They don't need the bells and whistles of an advanced CMS. We are also able to implement basic survey and analytics, without any issues.

Cons

Due to gaps in Drupal caching process, old content continues to persist on some web pages. Image or PDF file upload buttons in administration don't always work. Drupal domain and site hosting set-up is complex. When a site needs to be upgraded for mobile optimization or other reasons, Drupal makes developers almost rebuild the site. CMS is not very intuitive for newbies. It supports templates but not drag and drop features for files which is a common feature now a days in most advanced content management services.

May 5, 2022

Pros

We use Drupal for most advanced developments we can't do with using Wordpress, it does do its job and way beyond that.

### "Great, flexible CMS"

August 5, 2019

5.0

Pros

Good community with many developers and support. Some modules are easy to install. Q

Cons

What you get out of the platform depends upon your level (or budget) for developers, but this is to be expected.

Drupal est très flexible pour configurer le SEO. Possibilité de faire des patterns d'urls, de balise title et meta-description.

### "Drupal is not horrible like I once believed"

March 5, 2019

5.0

I've been using Drupal as a headless CMS most recently and have been pleased with how easy it is to navigate setting this up and the seamless-ness of the API calls to the CMS to return content. Honestly, I still prefer WordPress as a Developer but I won't be so quick to shoot down Drupal for future projects anymore, that's for sure!

Pros

Drupal has proven to actually be quite simple to navigate and use. It seems like custom modifications are actually proving to be quite simple. I have been quite pleased with the ease of being able to use Drupal as a headless CMS, Drupal actually accommodates this type of setup quite well.

Cons

Some of the default Drupal menu options can take a little time to learn and figure out what they are supposed to mean, but otherwise I think if you are using this as a barebones CMS for a larger project that ultimately won't matter that much and is not a big deal in the scheme of things.

### "Better Than WordPress"

December 24, 2019

5.0

Pros

We decided not to save on a platform for creating a site, so we chose CMS Drupal. Thanks to this decision, we were able to make a great site that best meets the objectives of our company. We wrote code without problems, connected the control system and plug-ins, and also set the parameters for SEO promotion. On WordPress, we would never do that.

Cons

The update manager does not work almost always. We are constantly tormented when developers release the next update. We just can't deliver it the first time. This is no good, and I hope the developers fix everything.

### "Powerful CMS Platform"

June 30, 2020

5.0

Drupal is a stable, powerful CMS that can create and manage complex websites. Overall, I've had a positive experience using it.

Pros

I have several clients that use Drupal. The CMS is very flexible and powerful. It also has a great community behind it so you can quickly get answers to questions. Most of my clients say they love the control they have when creating new sites.

Cons

I'm a consultant so I use lots of CMS platforms. Of all the platforms I've used, Drupal was the hardest to learn but once you get the hang of it, you realize just how powerful it is and why some organizations choose it.

### "Drupal is the worst website platform I've ever used"

April 6, 2021

3.0

Overall, my experience with Drupal was terrible. I do not like it.

Pros

The only thing Drupal does well is handle a high quantity of pages. That is literally the only thing Drupal has going for it compared to something like WordPress.

Cons

Drupal is incredibly difficult to use. You need to be a developer in order to deploy Drupal. It is incredibly ugly.

### "Versatile but with a steep learning curve"

January 10, 2020

5.0

Pros

It's endlessly versatile, but that versatility comes with a steep learning curve.

Cons

Drupal's versatility comes with a steep learning curve. I create websites for clients, which they then manage themselves. Drupal can be daunting or simply to complicated to use for untrained staff, and for a developer it's tricky to lock down so they're forced into a set pathway, without losing that versatility. Also, there are far fewer plugins etc available for Drupal compared to WordPress.

### "Drupal - Enterprise Level CMS"

August 30, 2019

4.0

Pros

It is Highly Flexible, you can customize it very easily to any extent. It got wide community support which will help you if you got stuck anywhere. It got wide variety of modules & plugins available which you can choose in development of new features in your software/application. And the best part is its security, its one of the most secure CMS available out there. Man of Government website use drupal.

Cons

It is not recommenced for small scale website. As this CMS take good amount of efforts to be setup, making a small website will not be profitable.

### "The CMS with the most painful experience for content writers "

March 12, 2018

3.0

Pros

Very customizable in the hands of the right developer, never stands out in the end product, good accessibility compliance (with proper user training)

Cons

My least favorite CMS, but enduringly popular in government and quasi-governmental body websites. Very steep learning curve and the WYSIWYG is so crude as to be worthless. I manage content for two different websites running on Drupal currently, and have for over two years, but still have to look up documentation PDFs to remember how to do basic things.

### "I work for a Drupal web development shop"

April 24, 2018

4.0

Pros

Drupal is an open-source CMS that works well when set up correctly. I've seen a lot of websites that have been built by developers that have never worked with Drupal before, and then the end result can sometimes be a nonsensical nightmare, especially for the content administrators. Drupal has the ability to create custom built websites with powerful integrations to countless other platforms, and it can really shine when Drupal experts handle the builds.

Cons

Drupal still has quite a learning curve, even with a customized back-end. People who are used to Wordpress or Squarespace don't find it as intuitive, and without proper training, creating and publishing content properly is difficult.

### "Free Open Source CMS, Powerful and complex"

August 8, 2018

5.0

Pros

Drupal allows you to relate pages and custom objects together to create very dynamic pages. It's the kind of CMS you want if you manage a lot of different pages that link together. It had great multilingual support and is very stable. It's clean and after some training it's not too difficult to use.

Cons

Overall I think the learning curve for Drupal is much steeper than something more simple like Wordpress, but of course you tend to get more advanced functionality with that added complexity.

### "Drupal is a Tough CMS"

February 13, 2021

3.0

My overall experience with Drupal is not rosy. I have barely used Drupal for up to 6 months, and the experience has been tough.

Pros

Drupal is secured, very secured. This is one thing I love about it. Unlike most CMSes in the market where their core could be easily affected by malware, Drupal ensures that the security of its core is seriously handled without compromise. And that is a big plus for them.

Cons

Drupal is too difficult to use, especially in its deployment. I started loosing interest in the application when the installation was becoming cumbersome and taking longer than normal.

Alternatives considered

[WordPress](https://www.capterra.com/p/131687/WordPress/)

Reason for choosing Drupal

I read about its security strengths and inbuilt integrations, which are major considerations for me in choosing applications.

Switched from

[Joomla](https://www.capterra.com/p/161648/Joomla/)

I wanted to try a CMS with less bloats.
