Pros: 1. Many apps integrated and secured in single window

Pros: Love this software! We needed a software security and directory solution and this has been great since day 1!

Cons: Adding and removing many users to groups was an issue in a previous release, but many of the bugs have been fixed in a short period of time.

Pros: It's super easy to use and set up. The instructions that it provides is well written. I didn't have to track down my coworkers to set it up. There's a phone app that I set up to push a notification to my phone so I can approve verifications quickly. That is my favorite feature.

Cons: If you don't have a smartphone using this could be rather difficult or if you don't have enough storage on your phone to download the app. When I first set it up I had to quickly type in the code that was generated and sometimes it would not be enough time for you to type in your code.

Pros: It's nice to be able to log into many sites with a single click. It also has a nice browser plugin that allows me to access those sites quickly and effectively.

Cons: I don't really like the interface and some elements of how the program works. I regularly have trouble when adding new programs to it. I also run into a lot of issues when trying to access sites from my phone. It took forever to get it set up and working.

Overall: It allows our company to have a secure password management software that allows for randomly generated passwords and single sign on capability which enhances our cyber security.

Okta is very efficient software which save lot of time.

Pros: Okta software is very time saver. Single login support is awesome. Access of different tools through single software is great. There is no need to remember password for different password for different application.

Cons: Least thing about it plug in installation. Some application needs plugin but plugin installation is not smooth in Okta. There is need of improvement. It should be user friendly.

Pros: Great tool to bridge solutions with a singled identify provider. Between ease of use, deployment, and management, we enjoy using the tool. End users love the fact they can go to one location for all company approved apps.

Cons: We have had some challenges with the full automated workflow with less standard apps but nothing that is overly concerning.

Pros: one of the best support teams I ever worked with, great skills great quality and taking ownership of tasks like no one else does, great feature stack, a clear roadmap, unique approach

Pros: We use this to manage all of our different portals and it's super convenient. Gives us a single sign on and keeps everything in one spot.

Cons: I have some issues with the verify thing on occasion but that might just be an issue with my phone. Still, would be nice to be able to do something for help within the verify app.

Pros: Ease of use. Also if at anytime we have issues OKTA support is always great to work with and most of the times able to fix our issues within a short time frame.

Cons: Really don't have any con's at this time. The tools handle what we need and support is able to assist if we run into issues and need a work around.

Pros: I like that it is able to show all my apps for my job in one browser, Also has where it remembers my username and password.

Cons: What I like least about the software is that sometimes my apps will not appear and i must refresh the page.

Pros: I love that it simplifies my life! I literally don't know what I would do without Okta because it allows me to easily access to tools that I need without having to remember a zillion passwords.

Cons: I can't find anything yet. One thing I've thought about is being able to use it for personal log ins (instead of just work-related ones). I haven't tried this but would love to consolidate my personal and professional log in credentials into 1 Okta account.

Overall: It simplifies my life & allows me to more easily do the things I need to on a daily basis.

Okta will make your users and you happy to work!

Pros: It automates process, it secures your users, it is a single source of truth, and it is just easy to use!

Cons: If you don't use Active Directory some things can be a little difficult to set up, but it isn't a deal breaker if you compare other services.

Pros: Easy to add new sites (internal or external) SAML setup available Very secure APIs available to pull data into other services or update Okta User profiles from external "source of truth"

Cons: There are a few features lacking, for example searching for groups within Okta can be hard or pulling up reports requires knowledge of their unique search query.

There's a reason it's a market leader.

Pros: Okta gets my vote for being far more intuitive than any of the competition out there in the market place.

Cons: There is room for improvement in the Okta Mobility Management product, however this isn't personally applicable to my self currently.

Pros: Okta makes life easy. With automatic provisioning of Apps, accounts, and SAML authentication, it's really saved us time (and money) in rolling out new users, and keep current users happy.

Cons: There are certain features we'd like a little more control over, but for the most part you're able to customize and control everything. It's a struggle to think of something I don't like.

Cons: There aren't many things that I don't like. Perhaps more options for the layout would be nice to have but I am happy with the current product.

Pros: I like that it bring the internet applications like ADP and others to a Single sign on environment linked to your Active Directory. Having that means users can add approved applications for business or personal use and have them easily secured via AD

Cons: the setup was harder than they let on, however it does work as promised. The application required a small application to be installed on servers to establish the sync with the OKTA sites. I can only get it successfully installed on one server so there is no redundancy. I also feel like their constant barrage of emails about updates is a bit excessive.

We started using OKTA to help us achieve the SSO agenda we set forth in IT and it worked.

Pros: First, OKTA is so easy to use, it really has a great interface. Was very simple to setup. Although I personally had a issue with the local client for AD it was a user issue not a OKTA issue. I found its integration is really seamless, and have very little management outside of the regular self audits I do and answering questions if someone has one.

Cons: Support. Don't get me wrong the support is top notch, but I didn't get the enterprise level and sometimes feel the brush off. If i had questions during setup they wanted me to buy a service set to get more money from me. I really just had quick questions. Companies that charge for setup support frustrate me as I just spent money with you and you want more before i even get it running. I think the licensing costs are fair but more than what I would expect from a cloud company just managing authentication for me.

Overall: Single Sign On (SSO) was the biggest benefit. Happy users was the other. Really its not fully utilized and feel like we have been paying for it like a gym membership. You want to use it but users are lazy and find ways not too. And since it only supports Cloud and web applications, local apps are left out. This though isn't a issue for us as we have more than enough to justify the expense of OKTA.

Pros: Our users save minutes every single day, no longer repetitively typing and re-typing their directory password. When we have had issues with applications, their support has been extremely responsive. They also take what the community builds as custom applications and will roll those into the app library as they put polish on them and make them ready for prime time.

Cons: The only downside to Okta is cost. We know these systems are not cheap and Okta is one of the premium models for sure. We decided that with a system which was so user intensive and users had to touch many times per day for logging into applications, we were not willing to sacrifice usability for what came down to not a lot of money. I will tell you that the list pricing on their website is very negotiable. If you can find some other customers to talk pricing to you you'll know that good deals are there if you work it correctly with your account team and their sales cycle.

Pros: 1. I like how easy it is to set up for the first time. We synced up AD to it with very little work, or issue.
2. I love how easy it is to add new applications and maintain our instance.
3. It's very easy to use. We rarely have issues with end users.
4. There are a lot of built in application setups already, which makes it easy to add most software.
5. The documentation and app setup walkthroughs are great.

Cons: 1. Their customer service is pretty bad. I deal with a lot of vendors and this is one of my least favorites to have to call.
2. While their application documentation is good, the rest of their documentation is pretty hit or miss. I'd say the majority are good, but several are just not very useful at all.
3. While it's easy to administer, this comes at the cost of some customizability.

Pros: Okta is intuitive to manage. It packages a lot of components into a single pane of glass (unlike, say, Microsoft's solution which requires a bunch of disparate systems). You get a log of value for your money. The support and development teams are responsive. The support for single sign-on to non-SSO apps with the browser plugin is very helpful. The product looks nice, and is easy for end users to use. The Okta Application Network has far more apps total, with SAML support, and with provisioning support than the competitors.

Cons: Their MDM solution (OMM) is very basic, and slow to develop more features. It would be nice if you could deploy any mobile app you wish, not just the ones associated with catalog apps. OMM should really support enterprise wireless profiles as well. The browser plugin for IE sometimes misbehaves, and upgrading it doesn't always go as smoothly as it should.

Pros: Simple interface and setup make Okta easy to use and leaves plenty of room to master it. It helps encourage lots of automation and time savings.

Cons: Okta seems to be working hard to deal with some of it's growing pains, their support hasn't been all it was in the past, but they seem to have realized that and are working towards fixing that.

Pros: Ease of use, return on investment, ease of management, reporting, constant improvements. Thats just to hit the top level. Full integration into your environment with more capabilities than most solutions can provide, and all in the cloud. A great place to start for a cloud first methodology.

Cons: No, delete button for users but it's coming. I have several wants with Okta. But they are growing and is becoming more and more useful with each passing quarter.

Overall: IT set this up. I was wary at first but SSO is awesome. I use my work laptop to do personal stuff (caught!) and it remembers all my passwords so I never have to scrummage through notebooks, etc.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're IT, do it. DO IT. Your people will love you for it. It's not like a VPN which is another step for employees.

Cons: Sometimes slow to sign-in initially; must use it as homepage for SSO benefits.

Overall: I use Okta on a daily basis as it is our primary Single Sign On solution, integrating seamlessly with a tremendous number of platforms.

Comments: My company has been using Okta for about a year now. All I really have to say is that it's awesome. We rarely have to unlock user accounts anymore, and everybody seems to know where to go to access their apps and resources. OKTA!

Pros: Literally, stores all your credentials and logs you into 1000s of apps and webpages. Customer support is amazing as well!!!

Cons: The only cons I can think of are the one day when Dyn was going through a DDoS attack, half of our users couldn't access Okta. Also, I can see where people could forget their passwords altogether after sustained use of Okta.

Recommendations to other buyers: It's definitely worth a try, and once you try it, you'll be hooked :)

Comments: We use Okta Identity Management to help identify our key users and ensure that they are required to use MFA if they are 'off network'. This type of security has allowed our organization to stay proactive & in fact ward of several breach attempts. Very satisfied with everything they've had to offer.

Pros: Improved security. Excellent support. Great community. Clear communication. Transparency

Cons: Feature roadmaps could be more clear. Would like to know when features that pertain to MY environment are being released (otherwise it becomes white noise).

Recommendations to other buyers: Definitely reach out to Okta's sales team at least! If it's not right for you they'll tell you but if you're security conscious, you'll want to use a platform like Okta.

Pros: really easy to use

Cons: a little bit annoying to set up every software and password, but you don't have to do it that often.

Overall: I used the SSO at this for a former job. It was so easy to use, especially compared to other SSO products. It was also simple to configure individually.

Comments: We recently just switched over to Okta and I have to say it's been awesome. I'm not an Okta admin so I can't speak to how the implementation was or anything of that sort, but as a user I love being able to go in and log in to any one of my systems. It makes life just a lot easier. The UI is awesome and very easy to get acquainted with so no worries on that front either. Thank you Okta!

Comments: I ALWAYS forget my password, our company uses SO many tools and i always have to go through the whole "forgot my password" process every time I need to login anywhere. Ever since we got Okta it has become SO much easier to login to tools and saves me alot of time. I would highly recommend using Okta at your company - especially if you are using alot of different tools!

Comments: I use Okta everyday from a users side and a admin side. Okta is very easy to use on both sides ad it makes deploying applications to users very easy. It also integrates so many applications which makes it easy to provision users in your company new applications.

Pros: many integrations. Universal Directory works amazingly. Great UI for both users and admins.

Cons: Currently has issues with Mac and Office365.

Recommendations to other buyers: There is a great community that have resolved many issues and if you have any it is a great place to reach out to.

Comments: We've been using OKTA for identity management. It saves so much time and avoids having to use Keepass or someother such password manager as it's all accessible on the web using a single signon

Pros: Only have to remember 1 password

Cons: cant htink of any at the mo.

Comments: The best thing about Okta is its ease of use. I have had end users call me and say they must have done something wrong because nothing is ever "just that easy". I always love to be able to say "Okta is"

Pros: Their Support Ease of use robustness of the product

Cons: They are a little limited on what apps they support on Mobility. They are working hard to expand that market and have made several custom connections just for our company.

Comments: We have been using Okta Mobility Management for around 3 months and absolutely love its ease of management, and the abilities it gives our IT department to secure company information on work and personal devices.

Pros: Ease of use, ease of management, and unobtrusive nature of the app on user's devices.

Cons: Not as robust of a MDM as some others like Casper Suite or Mobile Iron. Some features that you would expect right out of the gate just aren't included, yet.

Comments: Okta has been the glue for our cloud based applications. We have ultimately extending active directory into the clouds without implementing a complex federation configuration. Its allowed our cloud based/managed apps to integrated into Active Directory.

Pros: easy to use ingrates active directory and google apps seamlessly

Cons: although there are hundreds of apps flash based apps still not supported.

Comments: As an admin, Okta has been very helpful in provisioning users accounts and assigning apps. The OAN is growing by the day and includes most of the web apps that we use daily. Deactivating accounts is easy as our accounts are all AD mastered and all accounts and downstream apps are deactivated when the AD account is disabled. However, that won't happen until Okta actually syncs with the AD manager server, so one must be diligent during time sensitive terminations (but that's our job, right?). As a user, I really enjoy the single login. Multi-factor Authentication provides piece of mind once you get past thinking of it as a hassle. I like that I can log in from anywhere to just about all my apps.

Pros: Ease of use once set up, growing selection of apps in the OAN, easy provisioning and de-provisioning of apps and user accounts

Cons: AD sync is not real time and the minimum setting is 1 hour. Frequently used Admin controls are buried in the interface.

Comments: Don't want to remember 1000 passwords? Don't want to use the same insecure password across all your external cloud services? Okta seems like the solution.

Pros: Integrates into all common browsers. Works with external applications and websites.

Cons: The only thing missing is a password manager to easily manage all your saved passwords (rather than digging deep in the web UI).

Comments: The Mobility Management piece is great. The end-user downloads the app, signs in, and it has the capability to set their email up on their device for them. If they don't have their computer, but still need to work, no problem! They go to the website, sign in, and all their stuff is there ready to go.

Pros: Open browser, click app, Boom! You're ready to work!

Cons: I would like the dashboard for the enrolled devices to be more in depth. I would love to be able to run reports on how many ipads are enrolled or how many iphones. Current report only says iOS vs Android.

Comments: We had a requirement for a single sign-on solution following the companies decision to move to exchange online. After testing various other solutions we found okta to be the best. It's ease of use meant minimal to no training for end users and the implementation was very straight forward. Okta is most definitely now embedded into our organisation as its now used for a variety of applications and not just office 365.

Pros: Ease of implementation and use. Cost effective Large number of pre-configured applications

Cons: Support wasn't great when we had an issue simply due to the time difference being based in the UK and support is over in the states. Okta are aware of this and I'm confident European support will be at the same level as that of the US in the near future.

Comments: So I have been using Okta on a daily basis for over a month. I was very impressed by how easy I could learn and navigate the platform. It helps me perform tasks in current role 5 times faster than what I worked with previously. Earlier this week I just downloaded the app to my iPhone. I clearly was missing out on how much faster I can complete work.

Pros: Easy to Use Great Phone App Great Customer Service Even greater Okta community base

Comments: We've used OKTA for over 3 years to integrate SSO with Cloud based applications and custom in-house built solutions. OKTA is easy to configure for Cloud based apps. They give you step-by-step detailed instructions (with pics) on how to configure your Cloud app (Workday, Service Now, Salesforce, etc...ALL the cloud apps are here) and OKTA to just work. For custom in-house built applications, OKTA offers a variety of ways to integrate SSO.

Pros: Extremely easy to use with both Cloud and custom built applications. Once set up, it just works...always.

Cons: Sewing in your own authenticate into your custom apps requires some high-level technical expertise but OKTA offers plenty of examples on-line. We've used it for ASP.NET authentication and custom HTML5/JavaScript client applications.

Comments: We performed our own assessment of IDaaS solutions prior to Gartner publishing their initial IDaaS Magic Quadrant report. Our assessment including independent research, reference calls, uptime analysis, and on-premise proof-of-concept. We found Okta to be the leader from multiple standpoints. The Gartner MQ confirmed our findings.

Pros: Our ~5000 users love the tool and find it simple and intuitive. In addition, delegating the app administration to app owners has moved the responsibility of access provisioning to the right owners.

Cons: Per design, it does not cover on-premise-non-web SSO

Comments: Okta has been a great addition to our enterprise. It is a great service for Single Sign On and Identity Management. Before Okta, many of our end users have had issues with passwords in the many different apps we use which would resort to many IT tickets. Now, our password reset tickets have dropped drastically and once the users have learned how to use Okta, they are very happy.

Pros: - Easy SAML Integration with Okta verified apps - Active Directory Integration - Remote password resets - Password management for all apps - Reporting and auditing

Cons: - Some apps aren't Okta verified making it more difficult to implement SAML but I see this changing in time - Occasional Syncing issues

Comments: OKTA has been a great tool for our company. We started to leverage it more and more as we migrated services to the cloud. Our user really jump on board due to OkTA's simplicity and effectiveness. It's been great for navigating our 20 plus cloud apps we leverage everyday. OKTA is also great to manage from an IT stand point. If there is anything we can't solve OKTA is very responsive and helpful when troubleshooting issues.

Pros: Very user friendly and easy to use. Also, pretty straight forward when managing it on the backend.

Cons: Doesn't support every app, but OKTA does a great job at responding to requests.

Comments: Okta isn't just Single Sign On, it's an identity solution. They have lots of features that provide added value including active directory integration, multi-factor authentication, and a huge library of pre-verified (integrated), applications. Their support doesn't just stop at a phone call either. They give you the knowledge and tools to conquer the cloud.

Pros: Rapid integration and deployment of apps as well as an easy to use interface.

Cons: Support for on-premises applications is limited but exists.

Comments: Easy to use from an end user perspective, which is always nice in a sales office where changes are looked upon with suspicion.

Pros: Okta keeps me from needing to remember a million different passwords, including secure sites like ADP which you can't get from tools like LastPass. They also have a mobile app which is nice.

Cons: The mobile app doesn't log you into other apps, it just takes you into the site through a web browser. This would be nice, except it doesn't always populate your credentials, which kind of defeats the purpose

Comments: This is THE way to get all of your systems access organized in one place. Ensure the right people have access to the right systems, and more importantly, that the wrong people don't. Make sure they're using secure passwords. And make it EASY for them to do it by giving them a single login and password to a single site. If you have users that need to access multiple systems/platforms, look no further.

Pros: Great support and team. Most integrations of any of their competitors. Not just a vendor; a partner.

Cons: Not a fault of the platform, but the system is only as good as your own implementation and roll-out. And also, a lot of systems don't support SSO, so Okta mostly serves as a password manager at that point, but it's still valuable.

Comments: As a consultant, I've worked with a couple of different SSO products. I've been integrating Okta into organizations for the past few years, and have had great success. Okta has turned SSO and IdM into a streamlined easy to integrate process.
Their OAN catalog of preconfigured applications ensures very quick SSO configuration for most major business applications and thousands of apps you may have never heard of.
Users no longer need to tape passwords under their keyboards or stick them on post-its under the monitor. Configure Okta, and they need only remember one set of credentials.

Okta's support is second to none as well. For the rare time you may need assistance, they are on the ball, and ready to help.
If you are considering SSO for your organization, do yourself and favor and grab the free trial from Okta and check it out.

Comments: We originally chose Okta to sync our on-premise AD credentials with Office 365 so our users would not need to remember another set. Now, Okta is the goto cloud app for provisioning applications based on our AD groups. Implementing Okta helped us overcome all these issues and has made our customers super happy. They have ONE login to access all client facing applications from a single portal. We have now have the capability to add SSO additional systems in hours as we go along our path of providing a superior user experience for our customers. Our internal support staff are excited at being able to provide quick support and resolve user login and access issues in a matter of minutes. Overall, Okta has simplified things for us. The robust API helped to build our own custom user management capabilities. Love the OOB reporting capabilities. Installation was a breeze, Professional services Consultants were very knowledgeable and helpful and Support has been great as well! Overall, Okta has a great product and wonderful people to work with. We are very happy with our decision as it makes our employees productive and our clients happy.

Comments: Tasked to implement SSO, we did what most people do at first...build it internally (it's cheaper they say), and ran into same challenges I saw peers experience in the past. We analyzed Okta, found some funding, and implemented quickly. IT loves it. The business loves it. We have about 15 applications inside and people can access all their tools from any device. We have a line of business units asking us to put more apps into Okta. Customer support is great - customer focus is their top mantra. The Okta community helps each other out by passing on great knowledge as well.

Comments: Okta has been huge for us at Rosetta Stone. Password reset tickets used to be our number one call driver to the Help Desk. Within two months, it dropped to number 5. Would have been lower but still adding apps. This also allows our Help Desk to work on higher level Tier 2 tasks. Employees can access tools from any device, and user adoption of new tools are increased because they see their apps every day in the tile menu. It¿s helped onboard acquisition groups faster and reduced the need for VPN. The overall move to cloud applications also allows us to focus more effort on change management and building relationships with business units. Okta has been a grand slam for us. Our biggest challenge is there is a line of people beating down our door to get their apps into Okta. That¿s a good problem to have.

Pros: Easy to set up Easy to use Apps available from any device, any browser User adoption

Cons: Connections to app sometimes take longer if changes are made by vendor. New and improved app connection tools are making this better. Employees asking for more apps which is good. System admins fighting other fires.

Comments: I've worked with Okta for a couple of years now. I've implemented dozens of applications supporting tens of thousands of users. After having previously worked with PingFederate, (on premise), the switch to Okta was a ray of sunshine. The ease of which you can add applications, users, and permissions is fantastic. The support staff is top notch.

Pros: Quick and easy initial configuration and user imports. Ridiculously easy SSO connection for apps. Support staff is unequaled in support and professionalism. They are building a real community around their product, that makes a difference.

Cons: None to speak of. Okta just works. Plain and simple.
