" March 13, 2018 5.0 Pros This has simplified my access to applications that I utilize. I previously had to keep track and manage access for several applications that I use. With I can login to our company Okta portal and then from there I have straight access to the programs and applications I need. This has been a time saver. Cons If something happens to the device where you authenticate yourself, it is not an easy task to regain access, which is not necessarily a bad thing. Pros It is probably one of the most effective security management tools for logins I have ever used. The ease of access on the user end is seamless the majority of the time as long as the backend is done correctly. Cons There are some challenges with integration and rollout. It also requires some significant technical background in order to stand up the software for your company. Centrally managed by IT so I don't have to add all of the company-wide sites myself. Cons At the time I used it, lacked integration with old-school htaccess password prompts. Director of Enterprise Information Education Management Used the software for: 2+ years ### "SAML 2.0 vs OpenID Connect" July 2, 2019 5.0 Pros is a great SSO vendor, being reliable and overall having very good documentation Cons We spent months developing an application to utilized OpenID Connect, something all their docs point to as the preferred method only to find out that it was enabled in Dev, but we had to pay a high fee for us to have it in production. This is causing us to have to rewrite the application to SAML 2.0 (no additional cost). I have no idea why OpenID comes at an additional cost, but it wasn't worth the pricing. I love the ease of use that it offers since I was able to set up a two step verification process Pros is a product that offers you a simple two-step verification process, just simply install the product on any smartphone then link it to you account and you're set to use it. Cons Sometimes when using this product there is a delay between the server and the product so you'll have to wait to accept the two step verification. I liked that I could just click the app or site I needed to go to and it would log me in pretty seamlessly. I liked that it kept track of all my passwords It's a pretty cool and handy application. Pros has been working great since we switched over. Lets me control my own two-factor settings without getting IT involved. Normalizes the experience of logging into our VPN and 3rd-party services. I have not had any issues since we switched. Cons The only issue I've run into is that because they use webauthn for their U2F 2FA, the browser used by some SSO Windows applications that use their own integrated browser to interface, do not work, like our VPN client. I wonder if it'd work if they use the simpler U2F interface.
