Pros: You can literally create any kind of game using Unity. From Real-time strategies, to MOBAs, to turn-based RPGs. I am seeing both huge gaming companies using it, and indie game enthusiasts that want to start building their first game.

Cons: I see a new trend where games made using Unity are very sloppy. The problem, I believe, is that it's ease-of-use backfires, and now you have amateurs and beginners making a lot of well-budgeted games that make it to the market. It used to be that only experienced and well trained people could finish a game and make it ready for distribution.

Overall: Using Unity you can be absolutely certain from the start, that this game will work, and it will work on many platforms.

Pros: + It's free
+ Tons of free tutorials and assets to get you started
+ Extensive knowledge base and support
+ Extremely modular engine
+ Did I mention it's free?

Cons: - Requires serious design chops to keep your design from looking "Unity-ish". Devs will know what I mean. Custom lighting and shaders are all but required.

Pros: The best thing about Unity is how powerful it makes you feel. From the outset, you can tell it's powerful enough for ANY type of game that you want to make. It really does feel limitless.

Cons: I don't find it to be very user-friendly. Several instances I stumbled around for 30 minutes before finding the menu I wanted, and felt should have been up front.

Pros: Unity packs everything you could possibly want from a game design tool into one package, minus the fine asset creation. You can easily add in your assets for a 2D or 3D game, and code on the spot with C#. Finding bugs is made relatively easily, as long as you are testing your game regularly. Even the unity asset store gives you everything you need for at least baseline games, before unique assets are finalized.

Cons: I can't say there's much I dislike about Unity. Only thing I possibly could say is that the UI could see some more refinement. There's customization that could be had as far as moving units, but some of the menus are a little clunky or hide things that should be easier to find in a broad sense.

Pros: Unity 3D is simply one the best softwares for mobile games and app development. I learnt it very easily and made my first android game using C# script and built in physics properties in Unity 3D. Camera angels, sprites, built in modules and animations are so easy to add and keep track in game. I was able to make a game like super mario in one month only because of free resources and online material.

Cons: It doesn't allow scripting in C++, Adding animations is little difficult for beginners and Camera adjustment in 3D games is very difficult to learn at start.

Overall: I make Android and Ios games on Unity and publish them and earn good.
It's free and works very fast on Mac so It saves my a lot of time

Pros: - Powerful and flexible engine with an simple and clean user interface
- Export posibilities are enormous you can basically export and optimize your game for every platform like mobile applications iOS/Androis and Pc/Mac

Cons: - network functionality is not properly documented. If you plan on making your game multiplayer you would have to invest some time on researches in forums or blogs

Overall: Saved me a lot of time in development.
Also when i have to do Game Assets for Clients, it comes really handy in testing the end product.

Pros: Unity is one of the most powerful tools in the game design industry. It has so many features and tools! Pretty easy to use, the learning curve is low, so almost everybody can create his own game :)

Cons: In my opinion, the user interface looks a bit outdated, even in the latest version. Guys, it's 2018 already, please update it to something more modern! :) Other than that Unity is awesome.

A must have for any independent game developer.

Pros: The program can do so many things, beyond just 3D games.
The supplemental programs make developing games a breeze.
Tutorials are so simple to follow.
Free resources galore.
Customizable UI.

Cons: I don't have many cons, other than maybe additional language support?
Oh, and doesn't excel at 2D game design, but it does it better than most other 3D platforms.

Pros: itself already has a lot of features and tools, thousands of useful assets like models, sounds and tools can be used for free or bought in the asset store and is imported easily.

Cons: It can use very memory and also cpu-consuming and tends to crash from time to time, also problematic are older projects and assets, as backwards-compability, especially for asset-store items, is not always given.

Overall: This software is the best for video game develop, simple to use and very friendly

Pros: One of the best softwares out there for game design! I can't stress it enough how much yu can do with Unity. Nothing is impossible and the level of detail you can add is incredible.

Cons: As far as simplicity in the UI I would say it's lacking. Kind of hard to find certain features without a good bit of research and can be a little load heavy on your computer.

Pros: Unity is hands down the best engine for lower budget and indie developers, but don't be fooled, it does not mean that the tools offered are compromised considering the budget of its user base.

Whether its the on the publishing side with full support of IOS and Android to the suite of engine tools that include (but not limited to) anim state machines, terrain sculpting, texture painting, global illumination lighting, etc.

Hands down, Unity is a fantastic choice for any developer looking for cutting edge development tools and results that won't break the bank.

Cons: While no game engine is perfect, in my experience, Unity is hands down the best you'll get for the price. With that said, I find it difficult to call out any 'Cons,' and only look forward to the features they continue to add.

Pros: I have used Unity now on several projects and will continue to do so. They have a very responsive dev team and some already great features making this the engine you should be using!

Cons: Coming from other game engines, I felt this was a more steep curve learning Unity, but after working out the kinks it was easy enough to pick up on the differences.

Pros: Unity is a powerful tool both for beginners and for experts, I most like about it that it makes your job as a game developer much easier. You don't have to take care of things that can be very time-consuming like creating builds for several plattforms and creating network connections.

The program itself already has a lot of features and tools, but the asset store is what makes it to one of the most pratical ones - thousands of useful assets (models, sounds, tools) can be used for free or bought in the asset store and is imported easily in your project.

The price range is pretty good, the free version already has a lot of features and the cheap "plus"-version should be sufficent for most smaller studios.

Cons: Unity can be very memory and also cpu-consuming and tends to crash from time to time, which can result in a significant loss of time. Also problematic are older projects and assets, as unity is updated frequently and backwards-compability, especially for asset-store items, is not always given.

Overall: We are using unity as basis for most of our games, so everything we do kind of evolves around Unity and it's tools.

Pros: Price, performance, and ease of use are some of the biggest selling points for Unity3D. Unity3D personal edition is free and the tutorials allow you to learn without having to lay out anything for a license.

Cons: They change versions a few times a year which can be frustrating when trying to do older tutorials that haven't been updated to the most recent version.

Pros: Functionality
Flexibility
Platform support

Cons: Subscription model pricing.

Overall: I've been a Unity developer almost since inception, and a Unity iOS dev since the very first iOS Pro version. Unity3d is a phenomenal example of a tool that can be used by all levels of game / app dev, from rookie to AA or AAA-level pro. The Asset Store only enhances the experience (although Unity could benefit from some tighter QC of third-party offerings). However, the move to a subscription-only model for Pro users is a bit of a slap in the face to we who have paid for and championed the system for years., and the 40% off of a single year does little to lessen the blow.

To be fair, Unity is allowing us to keep our perpetual licenses, which I intend to do, though support and enhancements will be halted sooner than I'd like.

I recommend the "basic" level to all: it's free and it's very full-featured. Pro, however? Tough call: it's a costly contract that indies may find difficult to bear.
