Warehouse Manager Retail Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Easy for the End User" June 14, 2019 5.0 It made the mundane tasks of scheduling / approving time / correcting time / etc only take up half an hour at the end of each week. Pros Complete time management in one bundle. As an employee using the software, I could see my schedule / time off / and even access tax documents such as W2s online. As an administrator...setting schedules, correcting time punches, and seeing my workforce on any given day was a breeze. Cons The hardware associated with this software (we used biometric time clocks) were a pain to use at best and completely non-functional at best. Review Source Kevin C. Pros Paychex flex is easy to use and navigate. It is nice because you are able to see your login and logout times, finds previous pay checks/w2's, and if multiple companies use paychex flex program, then you able to view all at once--which is awesome! I like that they have an app too! Cons I have had issues with the mobile app- for example, it is common where I cannot login at the site. I know this was common among my co-workers as well. I love the direct deposit easy setup on this. I like this so far, good experience on this. Pros We just use it for payroll, and because the website and tools are simple to use, I can handle it quickly. It was simple to understand how they operated. Cons Although I believe I don't always receive them, I like that they provide us the most recent Federal & State employee law boards for posting. When I receive updates, it would be wonderful to receive a notification in my messages or an email. It's possible that I don't know where they are, but if I could obtain them via Paychex Flex, I could check to see if they have been updated or receive them whenever I need them. September 5, 2019 5.0 While working with PaychexFlex, our employees were always very able to access and update their own payroll and tax documents as needed. It was a very simple system, and we were very pleased with what it offered. Pros It was a simple one-stop solution to updating any payroll information, and generating any reports I needed. Onboarding was also extremely simple. Cons The only reason we stopped using it was because it was subcontracted through another service provider we parted ways with. Pros I liked that I could track my hours and my pay with the software. They have an app you can download that allows you to see your information anytime, anywhere. Cons I ultimately needed to be able to print out check stubs when I needed them and I wasn't able to do that. I would highly recommend this to others. Pros This is a very scalable, reliable solution for organizational payroll. You can also upload schedules, manage time off, post organizational updates, track training attendance/completion, and more. Cons We have a complex setup, so the upgrade from standard PayChex was long and painful. Now that we're steady state, things are done, just make sure to double check everything. Its strengths are really good but its weaknesses are quite cumbersome. These things can be fixed over time. Pros What I like most about Paychex Flex is the payroll management and tracking segment of the website. The new updates provide a fresh clean look and everything is extremely easy to find. Great interface. Cons My only complaint with Paychex Flex is that the retirement component is still transitioning over from Classic and it is taking a long time. Also, the fact that Paychex does not integrate with 3rd party aggregators such as Quicken is terrible. I have to manually enter my 401k transactions and it is a painful process. Too many siloed information systems to balance data entry into every section. Performance management is hard to set up and support specialist even was not sure how to. With various versions, the tutorials are not accurate for all systems. Pros All functions, although segregated systems, are under one login. You can find pretty much everything you need. Cons You have cross-application data does is not supported. Time and attendance does not talk to payroll does not talk to people does not talk to retirement. Recruitment and on-boarding never worked and we paid extra for this. The sales team rushed paper employee handbooks and manually entered our new hires as the self-service module did not work Reason for choosing Paychex Flex Paychex assured us that the onboarding module was seamless and employees could onboard themselves. Director of Operations Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Mixed feelings about the product, but good customer support" February 9, 2017 2.0 Paychex Flex is like the opposite of Zenefits: it's almost impossible to do anything online on the app, so you pretty much run your entire Payroll and Benefits functions through people with email and phone calls. For example, there's no way to track PTO/sick days -- you just have to make the entry for PTO when you're running payroll. You can't track new hire documents (like I9s or employee handbooks), so you need to do that outside of Paychex. You can't even get a quote for benefits without manually collecting several pieces of information about each employee and emailing that information to your HR account manager, who is separate from your payroll account manager. I'd say our experience has been mixed and far from smooth, but overall we've been able to run payroll and administer benefits adequately. Pros \-Good customer support. Their account managers really take a lot of the burden off you when it comes to running payroll and figuring out benefits administration. And whenever something goes wrong, they bend over backward to make it right. -Competitive rates -Running wage garnishments is automatic, there are resources for disputing UI claims, and regulatory compliance matters are handled largely by Paychex Cons \-The Very involved process to get started. We were missing features online that we were supposed to have for weeks or months from pure oversight. -Running payroll yourself is very complicated using Paychex Flex. So you have to do it via email/phone, which has almost led to our payroll not running on time on several occasions. -Running reports is sometimes impossible without Paychex's support -- they have to manually run some reports for you. -You have to track pretty much all HR-related tasks yourself: keeping track of documents, time off, setting up new hires with Paychex (there's no self-serve system online for new employees), etc. Review Source LT Lauren T. I like the timesheet express tab the most - easy to track time off and other hourly requirements at my organization. Cons It just takes a bit of time to get used to the layout and occasionally takes a little while to load the timesheet tab. Really there are no big cons at all - pretty easy product! It was absolutely not worth the few months that we spend with them and would save a lot of time and confusion for you and your employees! Pros It kept track of my time and attendance. Cons This product was very confusing, it wasn't very easy transitioning from one one payroll app to another that was different. Even the positive people that said that we will figure it out together, were frustrated with this product!!! Nothing was easy to find, it was a hot mess. In general the reps are helpful and you dont always have to talk to just your assigned rep to get answers. Cons When there is a tax problem, the only person you can talk to is your rep, who general doesn't know anything about taxes and can only pass the question onto the tax department. Once you ask the question, it can a few weeks before you even hear back from someone about the status of your questions. It gets put into a queue and you are not told if or when it will get answered.
