Pros Ease of use. Able to add more than one admin and give that person full control too. Able to use the app on the go. Cons You can't manually set up certain benefits which would be helpful if you know what you want. WE have a PTO benefit that we are still trying to work out the kinks for. Pros I use Paychex Flex for personal reasons with my payday. I love that I can see my paystub with everything on it. I also love that I get paid up to two days earlier because I enrolled through direct deposit also. Cons I don't like how if you make a mistake and forget your password you have to go through 800 steps to reset it. And if you call to use customer service help they can't help either. The system walks you through onboarding new employees and submitting payroll. Sending out W2s was a simple process. Staff can update their information and view paystubs, taking that off of our HR Director's plate. Cons Staff has to sign in on a computer for the first time, many of our staff do not have a computer and rely on the app. If there was a way for them to set up their account on the app, that would be very convenient for them. Recently, the onboarding walk-through has not included entering Direct Deposit information when it used to before. That led to a few missed inputs on our most recent payroll, but we have worked around it. Review Source VF Vienna F. The customer service is horrible. I have even made attempts to contact a supervisor several times with No return call until I called another supervisor and requested a number for the regional manager. The person who was appointed to me rarely returned my calls and during our last conversation, I explained all the problems I was experiencing and he informed me that he was leaving the position and he would notify the replacement person of my problems, so they can be addressed and corrected. TO THIS DATE, I have heard from no one. I have been enrolled for a few months and still have to call the payroll clerk to submit the hours. This system is only a punch clock for us.....nothing else. Due to their follow-up, the lack their of and all of the problems I am experiencing with the system itself....I would not recommend. Once my schedule slows down, I will be researching other services and terminating Payflex. Sorry to be so direct.....bit it is all TRUE. Pros Employees can only clock in at designated areas. Pros My company utilizes Paychex as it's go-to payroll platform. Both as a business owner and a recipient of the service, it does what we need it to and communicates vital information to our employees. We've never heard a bad thing about it. February 19, 2018 5.0 Pros All of my options are right there. I don't need to hunt for payroll reports. If someone fails to clock out my option to fix it is right there. It is a simple system that does a lot of work. Cons I am not a fan of the password and 4 digit verification. I prefer just one or the other. July 24, 2018 5.0 They do everything for you from making sure your employee's receive their W2's to generating amazing reports. I HIGHLY recommend Paychex! Pros I run a small non-profit in education and paychex has been so perfect for us. I don't have a accounting or CPA type background so I was intimidated at frist with having to manage payroll, send out W2's and other tax documents. But Paychex made it SO EASY for me! They even auto sent all the W2's! Customer service is always excellent and I always get a hold of someone quickly. I HIGHLY recomend Paychex! Cons The only issue I have ever had I even hesitate to call an issue. My company was in the approvial phase for our non-profit status and because we did not have our official 501(c)3 Paychex was taking out taxes that we should not had to have paid. But when we got our official status as a non-prof Paychex paid us back retroactively for the year. They couldn't refund any thing from the previous year though so that was a bit of a bummer. The UI design is simplistic, and easy to understand where things are on the product. Cons When this products has some issues it can go down for hours which didn't impress me that much. The dashboard view, with quick links to the most important information, is one of my preferred features. I appreciate being able to log in and immediately see what is most relevant, such as check stub history, PTO balance and tasks. Pros Requesting approval for vacation/PTO is extremely simple. There is a direct link from the main dashboard view, which is customizable. The request goes directly to the supervisor, who is notified via email. The remaining PTO hours are updated automatically and available to view in the main dashboard view. Cons Some of the user interface is a little unusually - unnecessary clicks to access information. The app makes it easy to keep track of paychecks paperless. I would highly recommend it for businesses looking for an easy way to pay their employees and switch to digital paystubs. Pros The app is mostly self explanatory and user friendly due to the simplicity of the app. Cons My biggest hiccup has been downloading or saving the paystubs and w2’s on a phone. I often had to screenshot and it wasn’t clear and precise. I would make a download hear or save as image option that makes this easier. " July 14, 2018 3.0 Pros Super powerful software, Paychex can handle just about any payroll situation out there. The learning curve is quick, and it's super reliable. Their bolt on services such as taxpay and direct deposit are essential. Cons The interface is less than ideal, it's rather slow and clunky. Also, Paychex doesn't integrate or play nicely at all with other modern HR software. For what it is, it's very expensive. Review Source Meagan O. User friendly, leaves me with no questions after checking my breakdowns every pay period. Pros Both the website and the app are very user friendly, quickly allowing me to find anything I need. The breakdowns on taxes/OT/deductions/etc are extremely useful, quick access to your w2, can quickly review prior checks. I've used plenty of other payroll services in my career and Paychex flex is by far the most user friendly. Cons My only complaint - and I mean ONLY complaint - is the number of notifications I get from the app seems unnecessary for a payroll service. I will never even consider using them again and advise every business owner I know to stay far, far away. Pros The only thing I liked was that I was able to pay the people in my company... and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\], my original customer service contact. She was helpful, understanding and personable. Cons Everything about Paychex is absolutely AWFUL. I have written multiple page complaints to the company. I have numerous emails full of issues never resolved. I had a customer service person later in my contract who literally ignored me. Paychex messed up tax withholding for every aspect of government, for both of my business locations. Their retirement services team was useless. Billing methods for services were sketchy and constantly changing. I was not allowed to do so many things on my own, but without a customer service person who'd respond to me, there were so many reports I could never get, so many issues left on the table. Clock in and out, see your time card from previous weeks, request time off, etc. Cons The user interface is not the prettiest. The fonts and colors are distracting, as if they're trying too hard. We are extremely disappointed in the ethical failure of our salesperson -- we asked specifically if the the systems we were looking for were fully integrated and they ARE NOT. Pros We can pull out any information OURSELVES that we put in! LOVE that. Most of the customer service representatives are knowledgeable and helpful, as well as professional and friendly. Cons Various features like payroll, onboarding, HRIS, etc. are NOT fully integrated as we were told by their salesperson. Also, it is frustrating to have several different contacts for customer service depending on which feature you have an issue with. The MOST frustrating issue is their time and attendance (TAA) module. IT SUCKS. Employees are EXTREMELY frustrated with it which leads to managers' frustration and them administrators being frustrated. The mobile punch app is very inconsistent which leads to incomplete timecards which requires a 2 step manual process for employees to correct IF they can correct it -- HUGE issue for the technically challenged. Many times employees cannot correct the TC which leads to the manager or an administrator having to correct it. It has taken us 8 months to get the employees and managers trained and some managers reviewing TCs DAILY to make sure we can process payroll by the deadline. Review Source KS Kara S. Pros Paychex Flex has saved me so much time while processing payroll! The ease of processing the timecards that are automatically entered when my employees punch in and out is my favorite part! I don't have to spend time calculating their hours anymore. It's is so quick and easy to process payroll and to download every report needed! Now I can give my employees their own access to their own paystubs which is less time that they need to spend on coming in and asking me to do it.
