Pros I like that it is easy to use, is an app on your phone, where I am able to have access to all of my money management in one place. Being able to integrate all of the information you need access to prevents a lot of headaches. Pros The ease of use and layout makes it easy to maneuver between screens. It is simple to add new employees and allows easy access for employees to enroll online and sign onboarding forms as well. Being able to easily access check stubs, make changes to hours, add one-time bonuses or withholdings is a top priority. The payroll reporting module is very user-friendly and I can access my past and current reports very quickly without a lot of searching. Cons The expense of adding employees adds up quickly. In comparison to other payroll systems, the cost is higher overall. Pros Easy to use but that comes with the caveat that they just cycle things through and are extremely prone to errors. Cons Customer service was horrible. They consistently make mistakes which takes them months to correct. December 28, 2020 2.0 Overall, what we were sold on wasn't what we received. We also had some tax issues that they were unhelpful at resolving. The software needs work and should be connected in a way that lessens the work on the end-user instead of putting more work on them. This company stressed me out! Pros The sales team that helped us transition to Paychex was great. Processing payroll was easy, the reports we gathered were adequate, and they had the features that we wanted in an HR and Payroll Platform. Cons When we went to set up some of the HR functions they were links to another system. You would then have to re-enter team member information that was already in the system. The systems were hyperlinked together and two different platforms. This made for a lot of duplicate entries and a huge time waste. If I had more than 50+ team members it would have been a pain to setup. Overall, the support has been wonderful and payroll has never been smoother! Pros This is so much easier to use than the previous Paychex Preview. Much more modern feel, faster, and I love that it's cloud based! Cons I wish all of my HR Online stuff rolled into Paychex Flex, rather than having to go back into HR online to get old paystubs. I have found the program to be simple to use and allows me to view and download all of my payroll reports, tax filings and make any necessary changes. My account rep is also very helpful and able to help me with any questions and issues that come up. Cons I have found that while it is relatively simple to add a new employee, the section for tax information and withholdings is a little confusing and I would prefer that it be a little more user friendly with more explanations of the options. Cons I have nothing negative to say about this product - easy to use, easy to download documents to save and print, easy to apply filters to search for paychecks from certain dates. It is something that normally would have to be done thru HR and they would not be very open to it. Paychex software appears to be designed in the 80s. Nothing works! Super complicated to add employees and deductions... It will be features that we will have to call a rep to help and good luck to get one within 5 to 10 minutes. Plus, the staff is extremely rude! Make no mistake. Run away from these people! We are with ADP and its amazing how smoothly everything runs with them. The system is so intuitive and the customer service is amazing! ADP also has Human Resources integrated in their software along with Free Zip Recruiter. Totally worth to pay more than having this horrible headache we went through with Paychex. Pros Nothing is a pro! Are you kidding me?! Login is stinks! There is always a glitch in the software during the login. And if you lose your password, good luck trying to get into the system. Cons Everything about this software is a total nightmare! Plus, people are horrible and they make mistake all the time with their billing and are late to report our taxes. The system is flexible, and can handle any nuances to your payroll with relative ease. I am also a big fan of the mobile app, which I sometimes find easier to navigate than the web based application. The employee facing interface is also easy to use. Cons The interface for actually processing payroll isn't the most intuitive. There is a lot of saving involved, and it's easy to lose your work if you don't remember to do so throughout the process of running your payroll. Review Source Ricky M. Pros The people were super-nice every week when I talked to them! But it's not a very efficient system. They basically called and asked for employee hours and I read them off a list. Cons Not super-efficient, but at least they were reliable and cheap. They helped us get the job done! But from within that same software, I was able to get tax documents and keep track of my PTO and 401(k). This product was recommended by our CPA who uses it for his own office. That recommendation was good enough for us and it has proven to be an invaluable asset to our business. Pros Quick set up, easy to use, great reporting functionality, navigation is simple. Cons When we started we had a dedicated CSR who was phenomenal. After she retired we seem to have a new CSR constantly. Communication is not as good as it used to be. It makes it easy to check where I stand with my hours each week. Pros The options available to me as an employee for this product are great. I'm able to track all my working hours, vacation hours, and sick leave hours in one place. If you used this product with previous employers and contact customer service for assistance, you have to help them sift through your potential logins until you get to the right one, should you need assistance. The customer service department can then help you disable to additional logins, if needed, to help with the process in the future. Cons You can lock yourself out of your account easily. The Paychex representatives assist new users along the way, and provide many ways to train. The have live training, and other training modules Payroll Administrators have access to. Cons Once your company has launched with their system, customer service is a bit challenging. This can become a bit stressful If you have payroll emergencies. I can also find out answers to employees questions with out having to call Paychex. It is user friendly for both companies and employees. Cons I do find that trying to find different reports can be a little bit challenging sometimes. When you create your own report it takes some time. Could be quicker.
