I don't have to do it and I know it is going to be right. Cons I find the website is not very user-friendly. Pros It has given us more power to perform our necessary payroll functions which are a core foundation of our business. The self access portal allows me to manage and track my 401K. We do business in different state markets with different state statute regulations. Paychex has shown flexibility to be able to adapt to our needs. Cons The implementation stage took longer than we had hoped for. In the beginning the partnerships was getting quite expensive. We were able to work with Paychex to reach terms that best suited our business model. Cons I feel like paychex seems to run super slow on most days. It sometimes takes me 2 to 3 minutes or more to sign on and after i punch it takes extra time for it to allow me to save it. the slowness is my biggest issue. Whether it's making changes to personnel, entering hours, or reporting , it's a smooth process. I especially love the mobil app -- it makes payroll entry easy when I am out of the office. Cons While I appreciate that the multiple levels of verification to log-in are for security purposes, I have locked myself out several times and would prefer fewer hoops to jump through. It’s easy to use and doesn’t require a ton of effort. Pros I love how easy it is to manage my team’s schedules, PTO requests and absences with this system. The reporting functionality is also awesome. Cons Sometimes notifications for time-off requests come in late, but I can see them if I log in. Pros I really enjoyed how easy it was to access Paychex Flex whenever and wherever you wanted to use it with the mobile app. Cons From my previous experience with Paychex Flex I do recall a lot of the times the app would exit immediately after opening it. I've found several times the software does not perform as expected, which just wastes time. It's quite frustrating to be a small business and not have a way to solve problems with them and have to make multiple phone calls. It's been a very disappointing experience. Pros It's web-based, and it's easy to add on additional services. When the web-based process works (we've had a couple of times where the payroll disappears), it's quick and easy. Cons We had a horrible time doing on-boarding. Staff don't communicate with each other. When you're having trouble you have to call each department individually. There is no one point of contact. We have found several times that setup wasn't done the way we agreed and we've had to push to have things fixed. Every time we need to do something new, we're promoted a new "plug-in" software with high setup and maint costs, increasing our bill. Review Source BD Brittany D. They have made the transition seamless and do most of the work for you in getting things set up. I would recommend to anyone considering using this. Pros I like the ease of use with handling our weekly payroll for employees and the customer service has been very responsive and helpful whenever we've needed help or assistance with any issues. Cons I haven't really experienced any cons with this program but they have recently changed the format of their weekly payroll statements that don't provide as much detail on breakdowns for employee compensation when trying to find year to date information so now you have to calculate it on your own which is a bit annoying. I can run payroll very quickly and everything comes back in a digital format for me to save, upload, or print for my records. They also have amazing customer service which they make personal and memorable. Pros The software is very user friendly and easy to navigate. There isn't anything hidden or difficult to figure out. Users can easily manipulate the software without guidance because everything is clear and concise. Cons I have not found anything about the software that was challenging or difficult to figure out, so far, the platform is everything a small business needs to get started with payroll. They provided the most competitive pricing, and their customer service is amazing. They won my business on my overall experience with the company. Above 50 employees, it is cumbersome and does not produce needed HR reports. Pros Easy to tab from one subject to the other. Allows employees (if set up to do so) to enter in PTO requests. Managment approval for these requests produces an email to the employee with either an approval or a statement that it is not approved. Cons Training section produces TERRIBLE reports no matter what parameters are set. Also, when you "rehire" an employee, the system does not easily recognize the previous data. I am able to quickly validate, monitor and review this information on demand without going to my Human Resources Office. I like that I am able to submit my vacation requests to my supervisor for review/approval and it is processed with my Payroll department accordingly. Cons It is difficult to navigate to the time-off request pages. It is not intuitively easy to get there. I normally get there after several clicks. The HR and accounting areas are great too that gather and calculate our entries for the month to import into the accounting system. Pros I've been using Paychex for our payroll for over 10 years. I can't speak highly enough of them! I've been using Paychex Flex for about 5 years and it is hands down the easiest payroll system I've used yet. It's very intuitive and user-friendly. They have recently made updates that make it that much better. The customer service is the BEST! Always trying to go above and beyond to help solve a problem! I would definitely recommend Paychex! Cons It's a bit confusing when entering in a one-time change vs. a permanent change but I think that is more user error than the software. I think I could get others to use Paychex but they freak out when I tell them how much is the payroll fee is. Pros Paychex has been great. It was a hard start, just because New Mexico is weird but Paychex and the state finally got it all worked out. All papers are always filled out perfect that our sent to government. Everyone is so nice Cons Pricing on payroll keeps going up and up every year. I tried getting my employees monthly to save money but they said they would quit. :( There should be a better invoice charge for less than 5 employees cuz in 2 weeks I will only have 2 employees and will be paying the same for invoice charge. And one other big thing is that for the last 5 payrolls I HAVE TO CALL IN. This is getting frustrating cuz all the specialist says is that is his too busy and paychex is short handed to call ALL clients. REALLY?? I pay and have to remember to call my 3 lonely number in. Because of these 2 major things, I am starting to consider calling ADP to see how much their fees are. I am a small women disabled business. So I need what any money I can. I really love Paychex it is just these 2 major things that might make me switch companies. I have since learned that othter systems can be just as easy, much more modern and robust, and handls our benefits as well (and handle it very elegantly), so that we can have a one-stop-shop that we did not have with our implementation of Paychex Flex. Pros I used this tool to request vacation and to obtain my paystubs and annual tax statement. What I liked most was its simplicity. Cons My organization has purchased something else so we no longer use this (appx 5 months ago as of this post). I said Paychex Flex is simple but what I liked least is that I didn't do much. Cons To add in a new employee can be confusing and I had to reach out to support to send me the new employee forms as I couldn't find them on the website.
