I like the way the user interface looks. It's easy to navigate. Cons customer support can be slow, but I feel that you find that anywhere. There was no international payroll options that we were given, which is something that we need. Pros What I liked most about Paychex Flex was the Customer Support, Ease of Use, Time Tracking, Communication, Clock and Timer. It's also extremely user-friendly which is very important to myself and my team. Cons I have no issues currently. The one little I.T. issue was fixed within an hour by their customer service team who was extremely easy to work with. The platform interfaces well with our timekeeping system so payroll processing takes much less time. Pros Ease and accuracy of use. Also, when we have a question, we get an answer quickly. Reps are always pleasant. Cons We have one PTO matter that no one seems to be able to explain why it exists. We have a workaround, but it's hard to believe there's no explanation. Unfortunately, it was not my decision as to why we left Paychex and I would be more than happy to use and recommend them in the future! Pros I really enjoyed the customer service more than anything but the user interface was really easy to use. It was definitely worth the value! Top tier Customer Support & communication! They made reporting and paying staff a breeze. I could be confident with the tasks knowing I had support when I needed it. Pros Paychex Flex gave me confidence in submitting payroll, and dealing with tax liabilities and retirement contributions. They made the government and agency reporting a breeze. It is the most intimidating part for a small business. Cons I could have used timeclock capabilities to keep track of hours, OT, and benefits. It would help to integrate the two tasks. It seemed like our commission checks were always messed up and added to one check. Pros Paychex is easy to submit and create weekly payroll. Several features are included for no extra fee such as, garnishments, custom plans and tax filing. Cons We will be using time tracking through Paylocity and Paycheck does not offer this feature. Once you are no longer a member, you need to contact them to have paycheck stubs, W2's and any additional information printed. Review Source CC Charles C. owner Medical Practice Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Poor Experience - do not recommend" January 31, 2025 1.0 Unfortunately I spent a year with Paychex and really wanted to have a good experience but the software is not intuitive, clunky. Additionally the staff made many errors which required dozens of hours of emails and phone calls over 4-5 months to correct. Pros They paid my payroll and taxes onetime, unfortunately made many many errors that required months to correct. Cons You are assigned an account advisor that you are never able to contact directly and must play voice-tag when you have questions. When I am calling, I am spending the time to get an immediate answer and the process gets dragged out much longer than necessary. If you want an immediate answer, you are then put on hold to speak to the next available agent. Since they are not as familiar with your account, in my opinion, there is a higher risk that you will receive an incorrect answer which happened to me on multiple occasions which made undoing the correction even worse. Additionally, sometime the user may need to speak with a Payroll Specialist and othertimes a Time & Attendance specialist. Unfortunately, many issues that arise require evaluation in both of these areas \[say a staff member does not get credited appropriately for time off, etc\] and one specialist cannot see what the other one sees. It streamlined several manual processes and reduced errors. There was a bit of a learning curve at first, but after onboarding, it’s been reliable and efficient. Pros The platform is user-friendly and intuitive, especially for payroll processing. The mobile app is convenient, and customer support is responsive and helpful. It also offers good integration with benefits and HR services. Cons The reporting features can be somewhat limited and not as customizable as expected. Support is very responsive, price is very reasonable and it is very easy to use. All of my guys like having the app and how it works as well. Pros Very user friendly. I have been using Paychex Flex for 3 1/2 years and it takes me 5 minutes to run payroll. Setup was very easy with the help of their support team. Anytime I have a question, they respond very quickly. There were several money mistakes made and it took months to get my money back on a mistake that was not mine. Pros It was a one stop shop for payroll and human resources. I didn't need to hire additional human resources people. Cons Customer service was awful. No one ever answered their phones, and when I left voicemails, it would take weeks to get back to me, if at all. Love having everything in one place. They need to streamline the day to day process though. Pros That we can have time clock & payroll in the same place. Cons The app lags extremly bad. It definitely saves time searching for information and printing off pay stubs. Pros Paychex processed payroll very quickly, I never had to worry about payroll being late even if I did it the day before. The time clock was very useful AND user friendly. Employees can clock in on their phone or at their workstation. Cons It is very difficult and time consuming to make sure that Paychex Flex is pulling the correct taxes for each employee. The ease of use for accounting and HR was not worth the time spent having to correct punches. Pros The ease of use on the HR side. It was very easy to export and send payroll to our accountant. Cons The difficulty of use by employees. It was semi-easy to navigate and request time off, but the app takes up to five minutes to load before they can clock in or out. This led to impatience which led to a ton of missed punches. Owner Recreational Facilities and Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Expensive & Frustrating Company and Service" October 31, 2024 2.0 We switched to Paychex for their Employee Retention Credit filing services, and they seemed like they'd be more involved and personal than our previous provider. However, things turned south and they drop the personal touch once you're established. They're a decent payroll provider, but the lack of transparency with invoicing and dashboard navigation issues are concerning. Pros Paychex onboarding is great. The main dashboard became easier and easier to use, and there's a lot of features that come with a basic subscription and more you can add. Cons The extra features are pushed HARD by their teams. Their retirement savings team was almost predatory with how they sold the product, constant calls, applying pressure to make a decision, and more. Once we started with their HR service, things just got worse. These features get more and more expensive with less and less that they offer, but you're under contract. The invoicing gets obfuscated so you don't know what money is being charged for, and you have to be on top of them to not make errors or mistakes. The platform itself can be confusing with many features not having a menu button, requiring access strictly through an notification card on the dashboard homepage. Switched from [RUN Powered by ADP](https://www.capterra.com/p/185859/RUN/) ADP lacked a personal representative that we could work out issues with and wasn't proactive, especially with the Employee Retention Credit.
