If this had not occurred and the other company not offered exceptional pricing I would not have switched from Paychex Flex Pros Having a dedciated customer service representative. There was always someone available that was directly assigned to our account our new payroll company to talk to a general customer service person each time. Cons Untimely correction for errors that were made, and no accountablility for this mistake. Excuses were made that it was not the job of that representative anymore because of a promotion and no one was assigned to the account, so he was doing both jobs. This is not the customers problem it is the companies issue to fix. With banks releasing funds 1-2 days early I always would spend hours explaining to staff that it was not us but the payroll service that had to release the funds and generally released them very late in the week although my payroll was completed on Mondays Pros The staff that I encountered was very helpful and always assisted when possible, it just always seems I had always talked to someone that may not have been as knowledgeable about the procedures and processes to correct problems Cons The pricing and the length of time it took to resolve issues with payroll. IT allows the user to easily navigate and quickly understand the UI. Cons The only bug I have ever ran into is the authentication servers were down for an entire day, so we were unable to login. With employees coming and going we need a provider with an easy learning curve. Pros Good customer support and dedicated rep. Payroll is easy to use and the time keeping is nice for our employees with the app. It is a good value for the money because we are a non-profit and they give us a nice discount. Cons Reporting could be a bit better but they work with you to customize if you need that. We do get new reps quite often but the are always a phone call or e-mail away when needed fast during payroll. The navigation pane is organized well and easy to use. I enjoy using this product. Pros I like that Paychex Flex is so easy to use. I can easily access my hours, paystubs, and request PTO from my organization. Cons I do not like how when I clock in on the dashboard screen, it is not reflected in my log. Instead, I have to go to Time & Attendance to clock in and see it reflected in my log. Uploading and signing documents is not easy to navigate. Pros I use the admin section. I personally like that I am able to approve my teams hours and that I can break it down by pay week or pay period. Cons When there are punch in/out errors from an employee, there's no option to print the individual error or the full time week itself which is needed for my business because we need signatures approving the adjustment from the error. Account reps would always blame other departments yet not put you in touch with who you needed to speak to. Pros There was honestly not much to like about Paychex Flex. It is only good for one thing...and that is not customer service. Paychex Flex was only good for payroll processing. Cons The user interface is not customizable. Communication and customer support were horrible. Email and phone support were even worse. For only $500 more a year, we were able to switch to another HRIS that is much more user friendly, has any HR modules you need, and provides support way better than Paychex Flex. " February 4, 2026 5.0 Overall my experience has been amazing. Easy to use, great customer support when needed. It makes clocking in and out and managing paystubs a breeze. Pros Do easy to use. Keeps track of all your important job information. Makes clocking in and out a breeze. Gives you the option to check and be sure your hours are correct and let your management know if they are not. Definitely worth the costs. Also keeps a detailed list of members of your company do you can communicate directly easily. However, in the end it wasn't my decision, it was my supervisors. But I didn't feel like it was worth the money that we spent. Pros It was pretty easy to use. The platform was straight forward and I never had an issue processing payroll. They also offered pretty comprehensive training. Cons It was very difficult to ever get a response for any payroll or HR related questions. No one would answer my call and it took days to get a response. Cons The downsides of Paychex Flex are that some features cost extra, the reports can be a little tricky to figure out, and customer support isn’t always consistent.
