### "Great statistical tool"

April 8, 2021

5.0

I recommend Stata for those that are new to programming and statistical analysis.

Pros

I have used Stata for my econometric analysis for the past three years. I like Stata because it is easy to learn the codes because they are quite intuitive. Also, it has a point-and-click feature that can be used if you don't know the codes. Finally, you can save your codes and start at a later time.

Cons

Stata is not as robust as some programming languages like R programming. Also, it tends to be slow for some estimations.

### "Powerful Statistical Analysis Software"

October 30, 2018

5.0

Stata is an extremely powerful statistical analysis software that can get the job done.

Pros

What I liked most about this software is that there hasn't been an instance where I was limited by the software itself, but rather by my own lack of knowledge. That is, everything that I need to be able to do, the software can do (which is saying a lot for a stats software). That being said, most analyses and outputs are easily done and various tutorials exist online.

Cons

My least favorite aspect of this software was the learning curve. Obviously, this is something that can be overcome, though, and is a slight cost compared to a large benefit.

### "Very very good tool for your statistics"

April 16, 2019

5.0

Pros

Stata is very comprehensive and includes all the common methods of modern statistics. its way more comprehensive that the other GUI-based statistics tools such as spss and so forth.

Cons

when you need a very very new method than sometimes Stata doesnt provide them yet. thats why i personally prefer R towards stata because it has a lot more developer who include the most up to date statistical packages frequently.

### "Hard to use but very useful"

November 12, 2019

4.0

Pros

I find out that Stata is relatively hard to use compare to other softwares like Excel and Maple because it requires a great deal of knowledge in programming. I mean you don't need to have any experience with programming in order to use it, but it would be extremely useful if you do. Also, Stata is very useful. I had a stat course that required me to use this software and I found it very helpful in understanding the concepts.

Cons

Difficult to use, especially hard if one has basically no or little experience with programming.

### "Best software for statistical analysis!"

June 29, 2018

5.0

Pros

What I like most about Stata is that can analyze a large amount of data very quickly. Also, it has different tools that allow making an advanced statistical analysis, providing complex graphs.

Cons

The only thing I dislike about Stata is the way the outputs are shown and that some of the tests are hard to find, so you must use all the commands that are shown in web forums.

### "A great introduction to statistical software."

August 1, 2018

4.0

Statistical results for research. Data organization.

Pros

This software helps me get the statistical analysis job done at work. It is easy to convert to a spreadsheet for use and viewing by others

Cons

It is difficult to work with other statistical systems, like SAS and R. Because I learned Stata first, it is hard to transfer my skills, it is also difficult to work with people on the same data using SAS.

Good for the experience definitely, just not worth that mich of an investment imo

Pros

I have a basic understanding as to what this platform is compared to others that I have used for years and it pretty much gets the statistcal analysis done but no employer has any preference for it as far as I knoe

Cons

Not so much used in my field department and I have rarely seen others require its expertise as you may know software computing is more versatile

### "Great for quick analysis of large datasets"

April 26, 2021

5.0

Takes a bit of time to learn, but once you're used to it, it's fantastic.

Pros

If you're in public health, this is a great tool for quick stats calculation on your datasets. Loading and operations are quick and CPU friendly.

Cons

It does take a bit of time to get used to the syntaxes since it's a unique language of its own, but lots of free online resources to expedite your learning.

### "General Review"

June 15, 2021

5.0

The overall experience with Stata is very amazing. I hope everyone will use it at least for once

Pros

The most important thing that I like about this software is that it's data visualization capability is beyond amazing. The way the stats come up with things in a very detailed way makes it an amazing product.

Cons

There is no particular downside to this software. But I do hope more resources and features will come to this software with pace of time.

### "Easy to use for Graduate Level Research"

November 14, 2018

3.0

Pros

I enjoyed the ease of using the commands to find simple and elegant APA style tables in order to make hypothesis about various GSS data.

Cons

I did not like the old tech feel of the software. It felt like something out of the 1990s to be completely honest. It lacks the finesse of SPSS or other statistical software that I have used in the past.

### "Best software for data analysis in an academic context"

August 4, 2022

5.0

Pros

Stata is a very user-friendly yet versatile tool to analyze large data sets. The software boasts many advanced functionalities and the .do file approach allows it to code the analysis independent of the data

Cons

At the beginning, the programming interface might look intimidating but very soon you will see that it is indeed easy to learn

### "Fantastic Statistical Package"

November 10, 2016

5.0

Stata is somehow more known among economists than among statisticians but I really don't see why it is - and why it should remain that way. Stata is comparable to SAS is many ways. It works in terms of commands as opposed to a 'real' programming/coding language. I have found Stata to be incredibly useful in terms of running regressions. If you are someone who likes to use multiple softwares (which I do, because each has their own strengths and can improve your workflow) - I like to view and try to understand my data on Excel since it's most visual, then clean it up, merge tables, etc in SAS, and finally run more sophisticated analysis on Stata

Pros

Great for statistical analysis, easy to use and learn commands

Cons

I wish they are more 'visual' about data presentations. For example, trying to read and clean up data can be rather annoying because interface for visual presentation is not so intuitive.

### "Stata is a tool that can be used by statisticians, economists and econometricians."

March 28, 2019

3.0

I think that if a person is able to master Stata, they can get a lot out of it, but I think learning other tools or languages can be easier and faster.

Pros

Stata allows you to manipulate large databases without using a lot of computer resources. It allows you to make forecasts, simulations, regressions, and econometric calculations. The language used is relatively easy to learn and the software itself has great documentation in case of questions. In my case I have used Stata to consolidate large databases and make simulations, such as Monte Carlo Simulations. I have also used for calculation of regressions using models like AR, MA, ARIMA, ARMA, etc.

Cons

Stata can be very difficult to master and I think for many of the things that can be done here, I prefer to use Python for them.

### "Used Stata for data analysis and was great experience"

September 2, 2019

5.0

Pros

I liked that wasn't that hard to manipulate data and get useful reports.

Cons

I used it as a student and my goal was to learn more about data analysis, this software is a little expensive for students, if they can do like Tableau is doing, they give free access to students who provide their transcripts or a .edu email account.

### "Poor customer service with some deception. "

November 25, 2021

1.0

No benefits much, as I had to spend my time waiting for answers from customer service.

Pros

Nothing much, functionalities are the same as in other applications.

Cons

Poor customer service with some level of deception. And it comes with almost the same level of functionality compared to other similar software applications. I paid for the subscription and had to literally chase the customer service to get the serial code. There is also misleading information about the upgrades for subscribers.

### "Great analysis tool"

October 14, 2019

4.0

Great! Really helpful tool in conducting data analysis

Pros

Super easy to upload datasets and work with them. Shortcuts are really intuitive and helpful so there is minimal coding you have to do.

Cons

Wish it was easier to merge datasets together. Also wish the design was more appealing. It feels like you’re a really old software even if you’re using the newest version.

### "A great easy to use software"

March 8, 2018

5.0

easy to use, and comprehensive.

Pros

Very comprehensive and easy to use, powerful, the results are clearly presented, and the graph function is also pretty good

Cons

Some statistical function are hard to find. One limitation is that you cannot directly copy and past the results, but have to copy and paste them in Excel first

### "A software for statistics analysis, great product"

July 30, 2018

4.0

Pros

Stata it is a fast software with a lot of statistical methods. As professional software, Stata capability of analyzing a huge amount of data in a fast way it is nice and positive. Also, you can create from simple graphs to the most complex.

Cons

I think its price is more for professional applications, but with an student version (Cheaper), the software could get more users and updates (University students gives a lot of reviews to improve). Although Stata offers graphical results, I recommend more options or kind of graphto be included because in some cases I needed to use other softwares to complete my presentations.
