### "Not as Useful Outside of Classroom"

Stata has been useful in finding correlation with data. It has done its job well without too many hiccups

Pros

I use Stata constantly in writing academic papers and working on problems. It is simple to learn (more than other languages) and gets the job done

Cons

I think Stata is not one of the statistical packages used by a lot of companies. It seems to be used only by economists and economics students.

As an economist, STATA was always my go to software for cross-sectional and panel data. The commands are straightforward to execute and STATA supports most functions that one would use for econometric analysis. However, in more recent times, I have switched over to R as my software of choice, since R is free and has a more extensive library of functions.

Too basic for a paid product

Pros

It was actually quite simple and not that hard to understand. After a few lessons on how to use it, I felt like I could get around with some more help from the internet.

Cons

You have to pay for a service that is not as strong or great at making graphs like other similar programs out there. It definitely comes handy for those who just want to flirt with statistics.

### "I need more training on it"

Pros

I think this is a smooth program to run SEM analyses on. It is a clean way to analyze model and is pretty easy to interpret. It can do more than other SEM programs can.

Cons

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot problems when analyses don't work out well. I might need more training but am not sure the best place to find solutions to problems with this program.

It's hands down the best program I found for econometrics

Cons

It's a technical product and it takes a bit to learn it, but you can say that's true for all the products related to econometrics

Intuitive way to work with data sets

Pros

The online support for Stata in addition to the ability to search for help quickly is what I like most. It is a very intuitive approach.

Cons

I would like more video tutorials about the naming conventions, how to work with formatting dates, and on time series data.
