There is no other solution available, currently. I do dislike the overall feeling of this product, but I don’t know if this dislikeness comes with cost benefits. Pros Even being really old school software–by the looks at least–it can do the things it is supposed to do. I would have quite a lot of things to discuss with their development team about the UI and UX but it delivers the basic needs. Cons USD this, USD that… I don’t know if Xero is fully built for US markets and are these USD markings default for, or are these something related to settings but this really bugs me off. It was difficult to use and my accountant was reluctant to use it too. Just restarted my subscription because I see no other way than to spend the time learning how to use it. Pros Automatically reconciles transactions from your bank account. Cons Steep learning curve, small fonts, app is very text heavy, unsure how to log future transactions that haven't happened yet. I have worked for other clients who use other competitors and this is by far the best user experience. I also think the pricing is fair and transparent. Pros Easier to use than most on the market and for a small business does everything I need. Including VAT submission. Cons I think if you have limited accounting experience it would be hard to set up. But once you are up and running it is easy to maintain. We briefly used Sage for payroll and it was too detailed and clunky, with Xero it was an easy setup and efficient process each time. Pros Simplicity and ease of use. You don't have to be a qualified accountant to be able to use it, but if you are, the whole system is very helpful and you can automate so much! Cons The support takes time to get your ticket answered but when it is, any follow-ups are quick. Of course there’s always room for improvements but the system is great specially for SMEs. Pros Xero links to your banking details and you can easily remove and redo reconciled item if needed. Coding and recoding is also very useful. Cons The invoicing with the current update is not quite great for me. We are working with add the PO number on our invoices other than the reference line. It is secure, efficient, has smart data tracking, and paperless record keeping, all things that I need and it does a great job with it. Definitely helping the business grow and become smarter with the cashflow, payroll and financial reports. Would definitely recommend. Pros I liked insights it shows on trends and reporting. The paperless records, dashboard that shows performance measures, integrations with other apps and software are all really great features. Cons There are some bugs and it will crash sometimes but I'm not sure if that's will be a problem for everyone. and there is a bit of a lack of phone support.
