I’d recommend Xero to anyone in search of easy to use, effective accounting software. It has a lot of great features, the only flaw I can think of is its high price. Pros Xero has a good selection of features and is very easy to manage, it is very intuitive and I believe anyone can learn to use it. I find it easy to maintain the books with its user-friendly interface. Also a plus points for a variety of apps you can integrate with it making bookkeeping tasks so easy. Pros It's super friendly to use, functions are so easy to navigate, and their support team is very active when it comes to our concerns. Cons As of now they're having issues with foreign exchange in Wise causing a huge bank revaluation amount... but could be resolved by removing and redoing the reconciliation of the transaction. By far my only issue is the extra-time needed to do the recon due to this issue. It integrates with pretty much every app and bank you could think of, so you can sync everything up and save yourself some time (and reduce errors). You can create recurring invoices and track your finances in real-time. Plus, there's an app for it! So, I can manage everything from my phone. Cons The reporting functionality could be made more customizable as per business need. Also though the tool is rich in features, few of the advanced features might need little learning for users who are not already used to working on accounting software. Like the huge integration list, they should break up every feature and price by feature rather than base packages. Pros Xero was great when we first signed up. It was a simple small business accounting software. Cons They lost touch with the customers. Developers ruled with poorly thought out features and UI/UX. Tell your early customers how much you are discounting your new customers and then flood the dashboard with price increase notifications. Price goes up and the product gets worse. Pros I didn't get to really use this program. The trial company was as far as I got. Cons They say that they can convert your old Quickbooks file to xero but after starting the process they turn around and say they couldn't do it. Then I had to look at another convert firm to do it. Constantly referred to the product Ideas forum, however, it’s not like any of these have any action taken on them. Pros Decent signup discount. On the web, the interface is easy to understand once you know what you’re doing. Cons Unpopular product changes (such as including advertising in invoice emails) that occurred without user consultation. When users did complain, our concerns weren’t addressed. There have been multiple price increases, with virtually no new features added as part of these changes. It's easy to create, edit and manage transactions, and it makes organisation a breeze. Pros Integration with other software packages such as WorkflowMax and Rapport3, the number of reports available, easy bank reconciliation and automatic bank account syncing. Cons It takes a working day to pull through bank account data. This is an understandable limitation, but I'd love to see Xero create a way around it one day.
