We use to run a service-based marketing agency and most of my time using it is spent invoicing and checking P&L reports. Does both of those things very well.

Pros

Really easy to set up and use with some smart features to make things quicker to repeat

Cons

Since onboarding just over a year ago, there have been a lot of changes in the interface. I'm sure they are positive changes but it has made getting used to things slower as they seem to be constantly changing

I have used cloud accounting since they launched in the UK around 2012, it is in my opinion the best cloud accounting platform for small businesses.

Pros

The ease of connecting your business bank account and quickly getting your financial and business data in order.

Cons

The payroll module is functional and great for smaller businesses, however other more specialist payroll software providers are better suited to managing larger payrolls.

Not having to store paper receipts is fabulous, as is making things so much easier for our Accountant.

Pros

Our PMS is compatible with and automatically reconciles our income. The time it takes me to reconcile our bank accounts is minimal and I love that repeat payments can be automatic and invoices received by email to be stored in Xero. We do not use the invoicing or receipt functions as that is already handled within our PMS.

Cons

Having a hard time going back to the next draft invoice after approving one, should be easier.

Pros

the user interface of the product is quite good, the financial report feature has a slightly more understandable overview than other software.

Cons

the price aspect is a bit to be revised downwards to allow a larger community of users to adopt this solution

In general, is good cloud accounting solution which is many times easier to maintain than Sage.

Pros

The speed of setting up the company and linking the bank. The online banking we use is not the easiest however, had this covered.

Cons

You cannot fully delete archived Invoices which can cause conflicts if you import old invoice numbers. We had a clash of new system and old invoice numbers and this caused problems with having to credit. It would have been easier if the invoice number could have just been edited.

Pros

is very intuitive and easy to use. As an owner of an accounting company focusing on bookkeeping, I use Xero exclusively. The other competitor in this arena is QBO. While their functionality and integrations are similar, Xero excels with amazing customer service, a more solid platform (they have been in the web-based game longer) and ease of use. All of my clients that have used both prefer Xero as well. Intuit is too large a company and you get thrown around when you have questions. Xero customer services is friendly and quick. They are honestly a pleasure to work with.

Cons

The major drawback to is their reporting. QB has better reports for various needs, as an accountant. Xero is slowly improving but it has been a very, very slow process. Sometimes this can be infuriating. Their free internal payroll platform is lacking a bit as well but I haven't compared it to QBO. It works but I prefer to use Gusto with the automatic sync for my clients.

Pros

is feature packed, but can still be used by inexperienced small business owners to get their books done. I find it more intuitive than Quickbooks

Wow. Wow. Wow. I could state this over and over. Compared to other products, this one really excels far beyond any other similar product

Pros

would have to be the absolute lifeline of our business. Each and every product they create is something that saves us time and adds to our bottom line

Cons

There is not much that I could state that I do not like about - if I must state at least one thing, then it will be the difficulty in changing devices for 2FA

Pros

I used to be the marketing and accounts assistant for Expert360, and use together with our accountant based on Pakistan. Xero makes it easy for us to send an invoice to our corporate, medium and small business clients. It allows us to view the overdue invoices, which enables us to follow-up on those payables. We were able to see the money that we had collected and the money that still needs to be collected. It also allowed us to track the payables to our consultants. Over all, Xero is an easy-to-use accounting software. It's user-friendly functions and features allows you to instantly view the cash flow of your business.

Cons

One thing that I noticed on the platform is it doesn't allow to create multiple entries from one company. Like we have client A and they have lots of projects with us. We wanted to create like client A1, A2, A3 in the contacts info so that we know who's the one in-charge for each project. But our accountant told us that it would appear in the invoice as client A1, A2, and A3 in the invoice instead of just client A only. He said it would create confusion on the person in-charge for the payments since it's not their usual company name. We contacted about that and they said they will work on the feature and hopefully it will be added in the future. Where you can entire Client A with someone as the contact person and Client A with someone as the contact person. The last time I know you can really just create one contact entry for each client.

I cannot recommend this product, if you needed to contact support for an urgent request you are more than likely going to be left completely unoperational.

Pros

An easy to use software that provides good basic features. Software is usually trouble free.

Cons

Customer support is virtually non existent. You need to navigate to an online form and once submitted you wait with no acknowledgement that your request has even been received. Wait time is measured in days - 3 days it took before our last support request was answered and then it was obvious the support case worker had very little understanding to the issue raised which. Payroll in MYOB has many bugs - for example holiday pay is calculated as a full 2.5hrs for every employee even if they only worked for 1hr creating incorrect holiday leave balances. If you are not aware of this as an employer, you end up overpaying your employees and reporting incorrect leave balances on their payslips

integrates with our existing ticketing/job/CMS software which means we no longer have to double handle invoices created in our CMS into an accounting program. It was easy to learn, easy to use and has made keeping track of all the Accounts side of the business so much easier

Pros

The interface is easy to use, intuitive UI and their help guides are brilliant. Having an accountant that also uses the software means end of year, Tax returns and all other "Money" aspects of the business runs smoothly and because I can do so much of it myself my accounting bills are way lower than I had expected.

Cons

Their support isn't always helpful. Especially when it comes to email delivery issues. And proper formatting options in the invoicing section to have our emails line up better with our branding would also make a huge difference for us.

I stopped the service and they kept all my company information and accounting details for the entire year. They wouldn't let me access them unless I paid. That's right THEY RANSOMED me for my own accounting info. Since it's only a web based program, if you don't want to pay anymore, you don't get to access any of your data. Isn't that fun. Sure you can export and document with everything crammed in there, but you can't use it easily or transfer it seamlessly to quickbooks etc. And the other issues: the interface is lousy. Their transaction recognition is really bad and their rules don't work very well. So if you are like me and have a lot of credit card transactions, good luck, cause you'll be at the screen for hours. I could go on about how it won't recognized the payee from the bank account line because it thinks it's the reference line etc, but you should never have to learn this for yourself. Be warned. The reporting is a joke. An absolute joke. You spend all month or year inputting data and then you want to go pull up some reports to see how everything is... well sorry you can only use their pre-designed reports with little or no customizable function. Want to pull income and expenses for specific categories and accounts... nope sorry, you can do specific accounts or categories or accounts, not both. Infuriating to say the least (this is why I decided to stop using) There is literally no customer service. That means literally. None. You cannot get anyone on chat or phone. The only thing you can do is email and wait. No real-time interaction.

Pros

the colors were nice. It's pretty cheap. The bank accounts seem to refresh 50% of the time. The name is easy to remember

Cons

\* online based so they keep you information of you cancel service BEWARE \* transaction recognition is terrible - you'll spend hours entering the same transactions \* Reports are non-customizable and basically useless \* Customer service does not exist. Literally does not exist. No possibility of realtime help under any circumstances.

My overall experience was really good. We are currently moving out from because we overgrown their features and capacity but for small business, this is a very software.

Pros

The ease of use is the best feature for me. Finding reports and now with the reworked reports section, you can customize the report almost the way you want.

Cons

What I least like about is after the new reporting tool was implemented, even though, it brought a bunch of good features, the reports have no option to run separate reports to invoices/bills in different currencies.

I have had a positive experience with . It is a great tool for managing finances and staying organized.

Pros

With , I have been able to easily manage my finances, track income and expenses, and stay organized with its simple and intuitive interface. The reporting features are great, and the ability to connect to my bank accounts is a huge plus.

Cons

One downside to is that it can be a bit pricey for small businesses. It also lacks some more advanced features that more expensive accounting software offers.

Very poor. My expectations were high after all the good things I had heard about this software but my experience was so bad that we migrated (for the second time) to QBO. It also has issues but there is great support and maybe they will make some of the changes we have requested?

Pros

was recommended by our accountant and I assumed , incorrectly, that the account worked closely with the software. They do at the enterprise level with P&L, BS and ATO annual returns but not at the day-to-day transaction level.

Cons

Certainly not best-of-class and we ditched it after 6 months and switched to QuickBooks Online. is simply not designed with small business needs taken in to account. Delivery dockets, which the majority of small service businesses use every day, is clumsy and very inefficient. Customer service is non-existent. You can post issues on XERO Central to your hearts content but there is no interest and less action.

Pros

I like that in one software, I can take care of quotes, invoices, and bookkeeping. It also has so many functionality that I can do all the bookkeeping by myself and I save on hiring any bookkeeper

Cons

I wish it was easier to integrate WordPress and for my website subscriptions. It would be great if the system could automatically generate invoices and send them to customers upon purchase.

Overall I highly recommend this software if you are a small or medium business and looking for something to manage your finances, billing, quoting and payments through then is one of the best on the market.

Pros

The best thing about is just how many features are packed into it but also how simple and easy it is to use. Having used very complicated chunky systems, Xero was a breath of fresh air. It has been created with the user in mind and ensuring that it’s simple but does everything a billing software needs to.

Cons

I really can’t think of anything I didn’t like about it could maybe use better chat or phone help options for troubleshooting.
