Director Events Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Avoid as much as Covid-19" September 4, 2020 1.0 Terrible. has gone backwards the last 3 years and would strongly recommend not using it. 1) Xero and the issues with the API integration with Yodlee. Often bank reconciling credits are show as debits. This has been going on for 3 years. I have mentioned it numerous times. It never gets fixed. Their solution. Just delete and add manually. I have had to do this so many times enough is enough. 3 years. Terrible! And, many many other issues not get addressed or resolved. See their forums and people in the forums that are disillusioned and leaving in droves. 2) WARNING: Canceling Subscriptions. They force you to pay the next 30 days of the subscription when you cancel. Meaning they force you to pay an additional month subscription for no reason other than squeezing as much out as you as possible. They even forced this during the Pandemic. Incredible! 3) RECOMMENDATION: Waveapp is free or the far superior but without reporting. Intuit QuickBooks has better reporting and much better invoicing with multiple templates. Depending on your needs one of the two above will match your requirements far better then Xero. Pros Was great when I started 3 years go. Overall easy to use, however further training or online support could be helpful to fully take advantage of its features. Pros is relatively easy to use and makes invoicing and tracking sales/payments a relatively smooth process. Cons I feel there are many features we are not yet aware of or sure how to use, however with further training, I'm sure we could take further advantage of all the features offers. Or if your service is delivered to more than one location for the same customer. Pros It is easy to use and the features it does have make the product streamlined. Gives you options on different reports, allows you to 'favorite' some reports and frequently used settings. A national 'address book' of contacts is available when you start typing the name of a customer you haven't invoiced before. Cons Customer support and product improvement is woeful - seriously woeful. To get a simple feature like additional addresses for a contact, has taken over 6 years. In the midst of this discussion, removed the dates on posts, apparently to disguise the duration of the thread. Accountant Accounting Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Functionality, Ease of Use" October 8, 2018 5.0 has allowed our firm to fully utilise technology and integrate our accounting processes with other software and apps, which allows us to expand our service offering to clients. Pros offers many great functions which makes modern day accounting just that - modern! A big timesaver is that Xero gets the client to regularly go in and code all transactions, which is one less job for the accountant. Xero is also very user friendly in that it is easy to quickly log in and download the latest profit and loss or balance sheet to see where the business is in real-time, instead of having to wait for the end of year accounts to be prepared. Customer support is also excellent and very efficient. It helps that Xero lets you invite Xero support into the Xero account you are having issues with. There are features in order to correct multiple erroneous entries like Find and Recode and lots of add-ons to integrate to other Softwares. The reports selection is wide and if you're a practice partner, you'll have even more access to the reports ready for external reporting. Cons For me, the pricing is a bit high especially for a small business or freelancers. The lowes option starts at $20 for 5 invoices, 5 bills, and 20 bank transactions which can be easily exceeded with use.
