Accountant Accounting Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Functionality, Ease of Use" October 8, 2018 5.0 Xero has allowed our firm to fully utilise technology and integrate our accounting processes with other software and apps, which allows us to expand our service offering to clients. Pros Xero offers many great functions which makes modern day accounting just that - modern! A big timesaver is that Xero gets the client to regularly go in and code all transactions, which is one less job for the accountant. Xero is also very user friendly in that it is easy to quickly log in and download the latest profit and loss or balance sheet to see where the business is in real-time, instead of having to wait for the end of year accounts to be prepared. Customer support is also excellent and very efficient. It helps that Xero lets you invite Xero support into the Xero account you are having issues with. Cons No option to pay yearly, the reports can be glitchy, but they are working on them. The mobile version isn't terribly robust. Everything is well laid out and easy to use, and it's constantly evolving back on user feedback. With that said, it might be costly for you if you have a lot of users and add-ons. Pros What I like most is the automation and reporting capabilities of the software. There are features in order to correct multiple erroneous entries like Find and Recode and lots of add-ons to integrate to other Softwares. The reports selection is wide and if you're a practice partner, you'll have even more access to the reports ready for external reporting. Cons For me, the pricing is a bit high especially for a small business or freelancers. Pros Very easy to use. Intuitive user interface allows you to find whatever you're looking for with relative ease. I can keep track of monies in and out - payments due, invoices outstanding etc. I initially wanted to be able to capture expenses on the go and the app does this really easily and everything is already assigned and set up in my accounts. Pros Really logical and easy to use. Great tutorials for when you need a little extra help. Super easy, and professional-looking, invoicing solutions - repeating invoices, on the go invoices, and more Easy way to capture and track expenses on the go. Save yourself the hassle and go with Quickbooks. Pros Clean design, and very intuitive controls and layout Cons It is no where near as powerful as competitors - e.g. Quickbooks online. It is also very buggy. I have a bank feed that hasn't synced for 3 months, and support has been useless. They keep telling me that it's on their list to figure out, but seriously 3 months and nothing? The thing is it was working for 4 years, then just stopped when they updated their software. Would love a "subscription mode" Pros I like how it is online, and thus requires no data migration from anywhere. Cons I do not like how invoice making is too smart with "products". I just want to enter a value sometimes, when customer requests a small change, and I want to charge a small extra for it. Also, exchange rates fluctuate, so my product prices change every month also, and there is no way to make the system understand this.
