Pros Xero has been easy to use, it's streamlined our invoicing processes and ensured that the right members of the team all have suitable appropriate access and knows what's happening financially. Easy to share with accountants. A thoughtful social enterprise discount given too. Cons Difficult to find some features that aren't used every day. Also it takes some effort to navigate from some reports to others when I'm doing my end-of-year accounting for tax purposes. But Xero helped us organise our invoices and payables in a much better and streamlined manner with excellent reporting tools! Cons Initially set up was a bit hard! February 28, 2017 2.0 Xero is really easy to use...... when its actually working! The bank feed has a weekly glitch, and at the moment, the whole of xero is down completely. I have no way of telling what invoices are still owed to me and Im very worried about my data, obviously because its cloud based. I also think that it could do with more features, like estimated income, estimating expenditure etc. I've had it for a year and Im now looking for something else, I think I gave them a fair trial, just too many glitches. Pros I like that it's pretty user-friendly for a new business owner. I'm able to generate a variety of reports for both of my businesses' accounts all from the same log-in. Cons I wish that Xero still integrated with MindBody software. When I first started using Xero, I had to manually enter months of transactions because the automatic bank feed will only go a few months back. It was A LOT of work. I have two completely separate bank accounts for my business which means I have to pay the monthly fee for both. It would be nice if there was a deeper discount for second accounts...it's pretty expensive. Pros I really like the software that xero has, I don't have much experience with other accounting software but with xero they make it easy for me to understand and use it! Cons I feel like there is so much to know and learn about xero that I keep coming across new things, while this in its self is not a con it would be nice if xero was more proactive about showing newer users other features they might not know about. Sure you can make Quickbooks Online work with some apps, but integrating them isn't nearly as easy or smooth as it is with Xero. And in the world of cloud computing, having quality tools that all work well together is huge. Cons The mobile app is currently very limited in what you can do. Overall, it's not a bad option. Cons The syncing with our bank account is somewhat laborious and slow. I wish that were a bit more seamless, but it might be due to the security settings of our bank. Pros It is so easy to use and implement I get baffled when our clients tell us they use something else. As a software provider ourselves we appreciate an intuitive interface and that's exactly what Xero gives us. Cons The only thing I wasn't happy with was that we had to pay extra to allow more spaces for reconciliation. Reason for choosing Xero Ease of use in trials was the reason for choosing Xero. It's a great software for people that do not have a lot of experience with accounting software in general. It has a very easy learning curve. You can get a 30-day free trial before you buy! It has inventory tracking, payroll, invoice creation, check writing, and other essential bookkeeping functions in one platform. Cons The dashboard isn't as fully customizable as I expected. There are descriptions of sections you might not fully understand, which can help new users Cons Some UI elements could be improved, like the ability to add a new suppliers address when creating a bill (currently it is only possible after a new bill is created, adding two extra steps to the process). As a user who has not been properly trained, I was able to adapt to easily with the software. It's an easy and practical tool to use when processing Australian payroll and superannuation. Cons Xero is more ideal for small to medium enterprises. Although it has its advantages in terms of usability, it would be a challenge to use Xero for large scale businesses.
