So many options for different fields. Cons It's a very different way of bookkeeping from MYOB who has held the marketshare for so long. Once you are use to it though, it's fantastic. It does far more by way of integration, especially now since their collaboration with Hubdoc Pros I like the integration and automatic information sharing between bank accounts and on line services from bank and xero Cons I often get rejections from payroll and pension provider. Was paying a lot of money month for QB that never worked right, took too much time and when my company failed...they left me hanging. Big mistake.... a big one. Pros Real-time cash flow. True sync to bank accounts. No more long reconciliations!! Integrates smoothly with everything. Director Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great feature but terribly overpriced" April 27, 2018 3.0 Pros Very easy to use, functional for even the most basic user, and the bank feed/bank reconciliation feature is fantastic Cons I cannot understand for the life of me how the Plan structure works. starter with 1 employee and then if you have even one other person employed (even a casual admin assistant for a couple of hrs a month) the Plan fee is per month.My work around is a /mth subscription (12mths 50% off)with Quickbooks and just use it for payroll and for the <30mins it takes me to do a payroll journal each quarter, I get to save per year. Xero - how about you give small business a bit of slack and at least allow for more than one employee on the Plan. I'd pay it. Ease of creating a new customer Auto-reminders set-up for the overdue invoices Allows you to see the complete outstanding balance as well as individuals. Cons There's nothing that I don't really like about this software. Bank feeds very limited and regularly fail. Support dreadful. Many many customers complained about expense functionality sold to them as standard now being removed but they say tough! Pros It’s simple to use (probably because there isn’t much to it) Repeating invoices nice to have. Community support helpful but not xero support Cons NO EXPENSE feature - just been removed from standard package and now charged per user add on Basic payroll functionality missing - no P11D reports, no dividend functionality whatsoever. June 17, 2016 4.0 Xero is a really user friendly accounting system, allowing you to stay on top of your business, without needing to be a qualified accountant! They've created step by step video's and an easy way to locate them regardless of which function you're using, and their support is fantastic - they always over elaborate (i.e. assume you're not a qualified accountant!) and share further information on each point. It's almost fun to use (in a geeky way!) and is really intuitive throughout each process. Their app makes it easy to photograph paper receipts while on the go - it's really conducive to proactive finance, letting you easily stay on top of invoices, sales, quotes and receipts. Highly recommended. Pros Easy to use Amazing support Cons Can't allocate multiple bank rows to 1 bill (i.e. when you have 1 credit card transaction, which comes with an additional foreign charge or bank fee, you have to recon 3 lines instead of just 1) Review Source David J. When you connect it with your bank feeds, it makes it easy to reconcile accounts and monitor your business balance in real time. Cons It doesn't integrate with Paypal that well. If they can fix the feed so things can be managed better with Paypal transactions and currency integrations, the software will pretty much be perfect. Review Source AJ Albert J. Our customers have said how they're pleased about the intergration with GoCardless and how much easier it is to find and view PDF invoices. It's also much easier from our end to make sure we are on top of everything. Cons Service is a bit slow sometimes and from what I can see you cannot change the emails that invoices come from. My accountant loves it. Bench wanted to charge me over $300 monthly and I currently pay $140 monthly. Xero delivers the same result for $30 monthly and only takes me an hour each month. Cons Would like to see better/more integrations geared towards e-commerce (e.g. Amazon marketplace merchants). Also, more flexibility with inventory management. Review Source TP Tevin P. If you belong to a small startup, then this can be a cool option since it can maintain all tasks from bookkeeping to finance and accounting. In other words, a better alternative to QuickBooks. Cons There are issues related to tax payments. Also, customer services are obsolete. One cannot call and infer solutions. Also, the transaction can be a tough call at times since you might end up sending the same transaction more than once. If any consultations are required, mailing is the only possible solution, to which a response may take weeks. When there is any kind of transaction trouble with the banks, it turns out to be havoc since no possible communication is present. Review Source LW Lauren W.
