August 7, 2018 4.0 Xero powers our accounting function, and with P&L responsibility for Marketing it allows me to stay on top of expenses without waiting for month end. Pros I like the ability to get mid-month updates on my current expenditure without giving my Head of Finance palpitations! The ability to modify the layout of reports is a nice option. Cons It would be nice if there were more drop down menus, instead of having to click multiple times to get to the screen you need. Pros I like how simple it is to get up and running with this tool from a users point of view. I use this tool to submit and approve team expenses. It's as simple as entering some information and uploading files. It's also really easy to view how much leave you have as an employee and request time off or submit sick leave. As a user I didn't need any training and it helps me manage the personal admin side of my role. Cons Had some issues with employees submitting time sheets and there seems to be a bug that you can approve your own annual and sick leave. Could do with some improvements to help avoid future issues with team members submitting and approving their own time. Review Source SR Sarah R. Owner Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Unreliable in the End with Terrible Support" June 1, 2017 1.0 Pros The features are more than sufficient for our particular needs (and I imagine for many companies). In addition, the UI is pretty easy to understand. There's a slight learning curve, but not too much. Cons Biggest issue is that bank feeds tend not to import 100% of transactions. Most transactions get imported, but in several of our accounts, 50-100 transactions will be randomly 'missed' and not imported. Xero customer support's only response is to suggest that we manually go through all transactions to see which ones have been missed and then import those particular transactions manually. Since we get thousands of transactions each month, that suggestion would require a LOT of time. Plus, this also means that you can never trust whether Xero is importing all transactions or not. Unfortunately, Xero's customer support is completely dismissive of the issue when we inquire and ask for assistance. Review Source CH Cherie H. Like how you can audit and see other user activity. Cons It was overcomplicated. Too many ways to do the same things and get to the same places in the system. If you want software that can automatically allocate transactions when and where you need them to go, save yourself time and check out Xero. Pros Very affordable price for a wide range of services. Xero also integrates with Stripe and allows currencies of other countries! Cons One thing I noticed was that I didn't have the ability to add my own documented notes into certain fields. This will be crucial on their next update. With 3 different plans that are affordable, you can keep track of the money, anytime, anywhere. Pros The best thing to take note with this program is that you can get paid faster than anything else. This program not only offers so many things, but this has online invoicing. Send an invoice, and get an update when the client opens it. Xero is not only viewable on a laptop or desktop, but Xero is available as an application, so you can literally take care of business on the go. Cons Even though this is not a full 10 rating, it is one software platform to keep an eye out for. My only complaint with Xero, is that they should add some more features. It provided instant credit notes to be sent to customers, making service faster and more efficient. Pros My team and I chose Xero because it has unlimited users, is well-suited for midsize businesses, and has advanced administration tools. It has wide compatibility with the most used browsers in the world. His accounting method is one of the most positive points he has. Cons The support provided by the company is not bad, but it is also not excellent and in my view this is a negative point. Its interface is not as simple during initial use, which makes the learning curve a bit longer. Keeps our company organized and allows us to take a snapshot of our business at any time. When getting started, take the time to organize yourself. Understand you chart of accounts and beginning balances. I love the ability to sink with my credit card accounts (for easy categorization of expenses) and the direct deposit payroll services. For users it's simple enough, but for administrators there are some annoying things. For example, all expenses are dated the date they're submitted rather than the date they were incurred.
