But that's fairly straight forward. Today I figured out how to reconcile if the invoice or credit note is not showing on the right side of the screen. But its almost self explanatory and I figured it out quite quick. Because its cloud based our accountant can log in anytime they want to check the progress or amend errors. Pros Everybody is saying its easier and quicker to use than Sage and that seems to be the case. Cloud based, I can work where ever I want! Cons What happens if my internet is down or running slow? I find it executes quicker, and the reports I need come up faster. Cons The only con I can think of at the moment is that Xero is not readily recognized by CPA's. Combined with A2X I've saved hours and hours in bookkeeping and end of year accounting. It's a lifesaver. Accurate and easy to use \*once you get the hang of it. Cons Very hard to set up without your accountant. The Mapping of accounts is very important and needs to be done right! Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Great Product, poor support." March 15, 2016 3.0 I have been using Xero for a number of months after moving away from KashFlow. The product that Xero offers and pricing is great, sadly I wish there was more to say about their customer service. To contact customer support this can only be via email which raises a ticket, they assure you a response with 24 hours but this is regularly not met. If you phone through to their offices they say they have no inbound numbers they can transfer you to. Being stuck without access to the system because of an issue with a payment has left me sat around twiddling my thumbs. Not impressed. If your self sufficient then I recommend this product, if you need a helping hand no and again - I would not recommend Xero. Pros It has a nice, modern looking interface. It's not very expensive. Seems okay for someone with a very basic business and basic accounting knowledge. Cons It doesn't have very may advanced features. There was so many things I wanted to be there that were not. The reports are also not great. Principal Accounting Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Challenging to Use" December 28, 2022 3.0 Overall I find Xero very difficult to use, it doesn't seem to reconcile well and the reports are hard to customize or run properly Pros I currently cannot think of anything that I like about Xero, I always have things that I am wanting to do but either cannot do, or find it very hard to do with Xero (such as reconciling properly or pulling different reports) Cons I find this software very challening to use. I primarily use QuickBooks Online and Desktop with my clients, we have one client on Xero, and find that Xero is very difficult to use, and does not have the functionality that I am used to with QB. It reconciled quickly and had an easy to use app. Cons It was cumbersome trying to get to data. At the end of the day, it was just not intuitive and eventually just gave up using it. Pros Very easy to use and it is user friendly.The App on the phone makes claiming expenses super easy with photos of receipts uploaded immediately to the system and able to claim back. Used the software for: ### "Good cloud based accounting platform" December 17, 2016 4.0 I've used Xero for several years now. They were great at pioneering the cloud-based platform in the early days as one of the first adopters. Now they've been moved to America their customer service has deteriorated and the product development is VERY slow. The forums are full of very necessary feature requests that are stock standard in other more "professional" accounting products. Their development of these things seems to be a low priority, showing they favor chasing new business rather than investing in their existing customer base. All that said, it's great for small business. I'm coming from a medium enterprise size background, so find some of the functionality or lack thereof frustrating. All the integration with other products and service is fantastic, and the business-to-business ability is helpful and the way of the future. I have Xero used in a small sole trader, a small professional engineering company and at a church. As a book-keeper, it is very helpful to be able to assist clients remotely, anywhere, anytime. Bank fees are a huge time saver and work well in Xero. All the standing entries, recurring transactions etc work well and are quite "smart".
