They were always helpful and responsive. Pros When it comes to accounting software a lot of people instantly flock to QuickBooks. Xero gives you a reason to look else where. The system is designed great and super user-friendly. It made the accounting side a breeze. Understanding the reports too was simple and the layout was perfect. I really like the Xero app and cloud platform and the intuative functions such as receipt snap and upload save a lot of time. Pros Xero is a double entry accounting system that can accommodate both cash and accrual basis for most small businesses. It has great features such as fixed asset management, expense tracking, sales tax and inventory management. Payroll is available at no extra cost in higher levels. Unlimited users. Cons Could be easier to use with better dashboard. Mobile app needs improvement. Some reports need to be added. Pros I love how easy it is to invoice my clients, and reconcile bank statements. I love the ability to set up rules and easily manage my own bookkeeping basics. Cons I don't fully understand the reports and how to really take this software to the next level for full financial management and budgeting. The reporting is also great so you can easily see the status of business at any time. Also the integration with other software/institutions is amazing, it integrates with my business bank account & I use receipt bank for all receipts! I got to try out the trail version and I'm impressed at what the capabilities are. Good recommendation for accounting in the cloud. Pros \- Best advantage above some other great cloud accounting systems is the multi currency feature - Great invoicing features: send automated invoice reminders, customize templates, bulk invoicing. - Inventory: Bulk import, best seller tracking, untracked and tracked items. - Connect Apps to increase effective accounting, inventory management or sales. Cons \- Some like cloud based systems, others don't. Thing is you have to have an internet connection in order to work. - For enterprise purposes, you might look for a more advanced system. Controller Food & Beverages Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Xero.com" December 7, 2016 3.0 Xero.com can be a very good software for small businesses that may not have an experienced Bookkeeper/Accountant managing the finances. The user interface is rather intuitive and easy to use, but from a robust Accounting perspective, it has it's shortcomings. Unfortunately, some of the shortcuts it has can create a rather difficult audit trail, making it difficult for Accountants, even if it's easier for the non-experienced end user. Overall, I would recommend it only for a very small business that doesn't have a full-on Accounting department or extensive Accounting needs. I would not recommend it for growing businesses though. Pros Easy to use interface. Intuitive if you're not an experienced Accountant. Cons Not made to handle growth or a large volume of transactions. Cuts corners that can sometimes be problematic from a GAAP standpoint. Changes/updates made by customer service that don't make sense from an Accounting perspective. Review Source DM Doreen M. Pros I love that Xero made accounting so easy. It's cloud-based so I can use it anywhere even on my phones and tablets. It automatically gets bank feeds so no need to manually import everything. Cons The basic plan is way too basic. Too many restrictions on transaction, invoices etc. You have to use the next level plan which is a lot more expensive. Review Source PS Paul S.
