Took me a bit to learn how to use it but now it feels part of my routine. Pros I like that I can send professional looking invoices and it tells me when someone opened them. Also it connects with my bank so I don’t have to check things twice. Cons Sometimes it feels a bit slow or too many steps, but overall it’s doing what I need. Review Source EC Eric C. It’s a well-thought-out platform that simplifies complex financial tasks and offers a lot of flexibility through its integrations and customization options. For small to medium-sized businesses that are scaling, it’s a reliable and efficient tool that grows with you—assuming you’re willing to pay for the higher-tier plans. The platform is approachable and does a great job of breaking down the intimidating aspects of accounting, but it does require some effort to master its more advanced features. The learning curve is manageable, but you might need to spend time exploring or reading their help guides. Pros The thing I liked the most about Xero is its collaborative nature. The fact that you can invite unlimited users across all plans is a game-changer, especially for small businesses where multiple people might need access to financial data—whether it's your accountant, bookkeeper, or even department managers. You’re not penalized with extra costs for simply growing your team. Cons What really holds Xero back for me is its pricing structure and feature limitations at the lower tiers. The Early plan is so restricted (20 invoices, 5 bills per month) that it feels like more of a trial version than a viable option for a growing business. It is a very flexible tool, especially for startups. You can set up a company in minutes if you know what you are doing. A nice tool overall, up to a mid sized company. Pros Easy to use, company set up is fast, can be used in many different countries, flexible, good for startups in their earliest days. Very flexible chart of accounts allows you to make any kind of setup you like. Cons Regionalization for some countries with complex VAT is not great (Portugal, Serbia). Payroll is slightly harder to get a grasp of and holidays can be quite complicated but it works well with Making Tax digital Pros From a none accounts background, I found this easy to set up. Pros We used to use MYOB but found that Xero is much better in terms of the reporting and ease of use. Cons Inventory could be improved but it is really an accounting software so a very minor issue.
