EMR Support Medical Practice Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great features, poor support and follow through" April 25, 2018 3.0 Support is what would drive me away from this product. Implementation project management and installation is very good. Post implementation and project management is inconsistent and poorly managed within the company. Pros Good readability. Results management is effective, and the integration with patient portal eleinunsted the need for calling patients about normal values. Patient portal and integrated online billing is convenient and well received by patients. Cons Medication management is challenging. Preventative measures are difficult to manage. They are scattered throughout the EMR without a true home for everything. The alerts functions don’t reflect quality measure compliance. Review Source BC Bob C. Pros eClinical Works is a very user friendly electronic medical record and billing software that can be a great asset for any physician office no matter what the specialty. Cons The only issue that I have encountered when using this electronic medical record software is that there is a standard drop down "filing" system but you can always design your own should you not want all of the folders to drop documents into. August 31, 2019 1.0 I used this when I was an employed doc. \*shudder\* I can't believe people are giving this top reviews! They must be paid reviewers or company employees. There really is nothing good about this EMR. Customer and tech support are nonexistent. They had a class action suit against them for misleading people about Meaningless Use reporting. Their response to problems is that we can pay more for that "feature." Pros There really are none. This is a bottom of the barrel EMR. Cons Too many to list here. Can't do anything without at least 1000 clicks and 2000 page reloads. Not robust at all. Can't really merge labs or other important clinical info. Templates are darned near impossible to customize. Pros Nothing really besides the fact that you can document your note. Cons Cumbersome. Time-consuming. Too many clicks! I contacted customer support because my e-mail address constantly appeared in many fields during my documentation of my note. It also appeared in a lab note that I wrote and I didn't see it that time and so it was signed and made a permanent part of the patient's medical record. \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] logged into my computer via Logmein123. He took about 30 minutes to work on the problem. I walked away to take care of some things. After the call, I realized that \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] erased all of my Google Saved passwords---over 300 of them. Who does that without asking permission? This is HORRIBLE!!!! I do not know if there is any way to recover these passwords. Highly INCOMPETENT--- very thoughtless and ignorant!!!!!! It provides good enough functionality for a medical practice. Cons There are no perfect EMR systems, however, ECW falls short on few things - functionality does not keep up with changing healthcare demands, it breaks down frequently and needs to be fixed or de-bugged multiple times each week. In a multi-specialty clinic with over 70 providers this now allows everyone to access the chart at the same time. Pros eClinicalWorks was very easy to learn and has greatly enhanced production at our clinic. eCW allows multiple physicians to review the information at the same time...no more lost paper charts. It's reasonably stable. Support is good, usually, and has been getting better over time. Cons Updates are literally terrible. I've lost count of the number of "quick patches" that turned into an 8 hour show of attempting manual workarounds consisting of manually re-registering DLL and OCX files and other janky fixes recommended by support. Best system out of all medical office systems I have used thus far. Pros This software is fundamental for any healthcare professional. simple to learn and use in any office. Whether you are a receptionist, nurse, doctor or administrator, this system is truly reliable and easy to navigate. We have two internal employees who are eCW experts and remain up to date on all features, new releases, upgrade options, etc. Our success with eCW is that we have internal employees to turn to instead of relying on external customer service to assist us when we encounter an issue. Pros eClinicalWorks is fairly comprehensive, allowing us to customize template options and choose which features we want to utilize. Cons The upgrades for certain features, like the patient portal, are slow to be released. We have been told for years that an upgrade is on its way, but there is no release date and no further update. Technical support often times can’t figure out the errors and would take a week to resolve the issues. Also have hard time understanding the technical support with pronounciations. Pros Easy to navigate with the emr, from scheduling patients, e prescribing, sending electronic faxes and inputting patient referral and insurance documents. It was also easy to send out all of your claims at once. It makes sorting claims by doctor simple. Doing payments in it was convenient. Pros What I like the most about Eclinical is the ability to see all providers schedule and have the ability to add patients wherever needed. Pros They are constantly innovating, adding new features regularly. Online scheduling system is great because it allows patients to schedule directly without human input. It has some great functionality and really includes about everything. Customer support was very lacking and was hard to get things fixed it a timely manner, you had to rely a lot on your own IT staff. Overall great product that I still consult on all the time. Pros Great Billing area and claims management. Great reporting. Love the Patient central hub, you can find anything from there. Cons Customer support and setup for full functionality is lacking. if you know how to use the system it is great, learning it past the webinars is difficult. Pros What i like most is that you can do everything you need with one software: schedule, EMR and create claims. ECW can be tailored to fit individual needs. Cons There is not much that I do not like about ECW. I use it for scheduling and billing for a mental health office and the only problem that we have come across is that we can only select primary, secondary or tertiary for an insurance plan but for mental health we bill managed care plans which are different than medical plans. Each provider has customized it to how they like it, and it has made it easy to switch from other systems. Pros The software is completely customizable. Two different clinics I’ve worked with use it, and I learned new things each time about what it can do. It has capabilities to be the only health care software needed in the office, and is easy to learn. Pros EClinical Works is one of the best Billing Softwares the tracking mechanisms for claims are second to none and the ability to interface with labs and other Softwares helps to make the doctor's office run a lot smoother. They are really good in sending you a bill and reminding you about late charges Cons Absolutely horrible customer service. Requests and orders are not answered. Multiple people, who just plain do not understand you, do not care what you need Shady business practices, difficult to cancel services, dishonest account managers. We continued to complain and help was very slow, if any for a lot time. The service has improved but I would still not recommend this product. Cons I wish I had recorded the sale person who demonstrated the product. The program he used look different from what I have. In addition, my receptionist took one of their webinar courses and stated that it was a waste of time as the program they used was more user friendly than what we were given. I have to agree. I complained to the company about this issue. I feel I was given an order version of the program demonstrated yet they deny this. In addition, I picked this emr over another because I was promised it included telemedicine as well as medical dragon. I purchased the more costly of the two plans offered which was listed as comprehensive and included "Nuance dragon" only to be took after I signed the contract and complained that telemedicine was extra. It is not listed in my contract but I understood "comprehensive package" as included it rather than the basic package. The Nuance dragon I am told is "Nuance like" If I want the real nuance medical dragon I have to pay for it myself. The emr went live in the middle of May, yet it was not functional until late July, I was made to pay for it the whole time because the patient registration portion which was the only usable part of the emr was being used. Forget the fact that billing and patient notes was not functional. For the aggravation I was given only one month credit. Review Source Lic. Francia Sanoja @. Pros The best thing about this program is that it allows me to have a greater scope of attention and online medical consultation service to any patient, anywhere in the world at any time, with a backup and protection of your data. Cons The only limitation is that it requires an internet connection during the entire consultation process, which can be a limitation eventually if you do not have that level of network to the internet.
