Pros The software provides the functionality needed to manage electronic health records and a growing primary health care practice at multiple clinic locations. Cons The reports - sometimes reports seem to pull data from fields different from the ones where you expected the data to be pulled, or calculating different than expected, such that unexpected results are produced that don't match the data inputs and results generated in another report where you expected apples to apples. We were part of a pilot program that presented us with the medical records portion as well as an interface with a billing software. We have had a few issues over the years with upgrades etc...but ecw is always very helpful in working out the "bugs" and making it smooth in these transitions. Pros This system is very easy to learn even for someone new to the medical field. It took me about a day to learn it. The integrated fax makes putting documents into charts really easy. Employees can get pretty much everything done then I just need to look it over for accuracy and can sign off easily Cons Tech support can be a pain. What a joke. Cons They are so fraught with billing problems, I have owned my practice for almost 18 years and they have almost bankrupted my practice, as soon as one billing problem is fixed we find another one. The representatives and Case manager at E Clinical say they have never seen anyone with so many problems, but somehow I don't believe them. When, now, going on 4 months into the process I am still only collecting 30 % of what I should be collecting, and I have borrowed more than the practice is worth to keep cash flow going, and I ask them why I should pay them... The technical teams really care about solving the issues that arise. You can really tell the staff at eClinicalworks are very committed to customer satisfaction. When so many companies are not concerned with customer satisfaction I am glad that we are using on that is. Pros Always changing and updating the operation of the Software to keep up with the ever changing Health Care Industry Cons The Software is so flexible and we have been using it since 2006 we really need to develop additional ways to make documentation of Progress notes easier for the providers. When we were trained back in 2006 to develop templates and to use the software for our Providers a lot has changed over the years. It has be difficult to keep up with all the enhancements and developments to the software. Now is the time to really take a good look at how we can go back to making documentation even better for our providers to improve their experience with seeing the patients and not feel so much like it is all about computer documentation and not about the patient any longer. As we move forward into fee for service payment for providers, more is required of the providers and easing their burden is key. Review Source RV Robert V. Cons Too many tabs just to get data entry done, to many tabs to post payments. These windows programs are full of tabs and screens you have to flip thru just to get things done. It doubles the time you need to post payments, enter data and follow up. Statements don't print out to patients and every time we open a ticket we are told its because something we did, but it is never resolved. Reason for choosing eClinicalWorks Our client has it for patient and EHR services. We have our own billing software much faster and works for multiple clients. Easy to make reports and run statements. Been using for years. We use eclincalworks only because the client requested we use their system. Would not recommend it. Review Source MS Manan S. They try to bully the physicians and as it affects patient care, we are helpless and they do unethical way to extract money. Pros Not very friendly and what they say does not show in the program. Not a very good program and will not recommend Cons Very smart in collecting money. They complain for invoice and I showed the proof of payment and now they come up with other invoice. It makes it very easy to document calls and quick interactions. I also like that you can timestamp your notes which is helpful when you're playing phone tag with a patient. Cons It looks like 8 different developers worked on this system. It can be very difficult to train staff on eCW because it seems like there are 3 different ways to get to each task and every time I'm in the system I find a new one. In my opinion, it's not a very intuitive system. I also find it very difficult to build and use templates. There is a lot of clicking needed to get where you're going. Review Source KR Kenneth R. Pros I like the search patient feature - if two patients have the same or similar names, it alerts you. It would be easy to click on the wrong patient in error. All the chart documents are organized intuitively so it is very easy to find a specific document you are looking for. Also, as soon as you pull up the patient, it shows the date of the last visit and date of the next upcoming visit. Also, printing is smooth and no trouble to set up. Cons The progress notes are semi-prepopulated, which could lead to information getting into the note that you did not intend to. Review Source HA Haifa A. It is amazing and reliable and all of our 50+ doctors were happy with it. Our change to eCW was made by our executive office and not by physicians choice. As a physician, I can tell you this app and the EMR in general is a poorly done one. Cons Cons: The mobile app is a joke. I can't believe this company is not embarrassed at the poor quality product they have developed. The eCW mobile app should be banned. We are loosing money by using it. Not reliable at all. There are a lot of other practices on the product, so the software is familiar to other providers in our network. Cons Poor functionality for meaningful use/MIPS, reports are cumbersome and take a long time to run, system has many inefficiencies and upgrades are not frequent enough, system needs to be more flexible for customization, system is not efficient for a high volume practice. Pros This software is very useful to quickly generate templates to fly through notes during a patient encounter, to maximize attention to the patient while also completely documentation. Cons This software takes some time to get used to. It is so nice to be able to pull progress notes, review charts, see scanned card copies. It makes billing so much easier when you have access to the patients chart! Pros That you can get to everything from one place or platform! I love that everything we need is all in one location. Pros Overall easy to use the scheduler and to see prior charts. It does not crash. It is very quick in pulling updata. Cons Unable to search certain types of appointments for patients. Unable to put Previous Assessments in alphabetical order. The lists never populate alphabetically or give you the option.
