Director Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 2+ years ### "The best project management software I've used" April 3, 2017 5.0 I started using Teamwork in 2011 after having evaluated and tested it versus 9 other tools. It was the best solution then, and it still is now. I've subsequently introduced it to the last company I worked at (to replace their existing tool), and to my latest company. The feature list is also constantly growing with incredibly useful updates and enhancements. From a UX point of view, Teamwork is incredibly well designed, and the latest dashboard enhancements are testament to this. Being able to add team members, clients and external contractors is also hugely beneficial. You can provide access to the relevant projects and tasks, and also restrict certain features - such as time tracking. I can't recommend this tool enough - different league to everything else. Pros Time tracking, UX, hierarchy levels, and sub-tasks. Pros Teamwork is one of the most used software that our team use to plan, execute and track our project progress. As it work from the cloud service, connectivity with this software is very flexible and i can access to the project from any device that i have. This is the best project manager for a remote worker. Cons Nothing is bad with this software and we have manage to reduce our project time completion and making sure our project to be complete on the time frame. Lead Marketing Strategist Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Switched to Teamwork - Wouldn't Go Back" September 27, 2018 5.0 Pros \- You have a dashboard view that shows you late, due today, and upcoming tasks, which is helpful in keeping yourself sane and knowing the higher-priority projects at any given moment. - You can set recurring tasks so you don't always have to go in and set up a new task list every month for repeating tasks. - I can add as many co-workers or freelancers as needed, so my entire team can stay on the same page. - I can organize files in Google Drive and link them into my projects for easy file access / organization - I can set dependencies so tasks only become available if I am actually able to take and action on the item. - My team can communicate easily via several communication channels - The Teamwork team is also working on a chat app that integrates with projects. It looks really slick although I have not tried it out across my whole team at this point. Cons \- I've found the mobile app to be relatively useless apart from giving me a notification that someone has chatted me. - If you try and slide a chain of tasks to a new due date, the dependent tasks change as well - but they suddenly forget that I don't work on the weekend, so I end up with inaccurate timelines. The program makes it super easy to bring together our remote team into one place to prioritize the day, stay on track of tasks, and coordinate together. Pros Teamwork was an awesome transition for our team from Basecamp. It offers many robust task assignment and tracking features we didn't have before. Key upgrades include the ability to create dependencies around tasks which keep the entire team accountable for their contributions to large projects. Having the visual representation of overdue projects in red, today's tasks in yellow, and future projects in blue helps to visually prioritize the day. Additional features such a reoccurring tasks and privacy settings have been very helpful. Cons Figuring out where to check the tiny boxes to notify people was a tough adjustment for the team. It is indeed all in one solution for managing projects and having effective communication. Pros Teamwork Project is incredibly outstanding product and now it has become my most favorite project management tool. I like its ease of use the most. Another likeable thing about it is its straightforwardness. It produces better results than Asana. I found it to be very much user friendly. Furthermore it can be effectively used for keeping records and conducting cost estimates as well. It can be conveniently used for assigning tasks. For task-based project management, it's a very effective and easy-to-use tool. Pros We just recently switched to Teamwork, and it's been a great success. Our team loves the user interface, and project managers love how easy it is to kickstart their projects. It has a lot of great features and functions that are great for a small team. I'm not sure how much success a larger company or a company with a ton of active projects would see, because it seems to get a little cluttered and chaotic during our busy seasons. However, it's a huge improvement over previous pieces of software. Cons The direct message and group chat channels leave a lot to be desired. The notifications are non-existent unless someone is tagged by the poster. This isn't a huge grievance, but it has resulted in lots of messages going unseen by almost everyone in our company. It would also be much more helpful to have direct message or group chats in a separate area from project communication. Perhaps our company just isn't using this feature to its fullest capabilities, but the chat function is definitely not great for us. We start each new project with a quick onboarding session and let them know how we'll organize their project using the tool. From there we generally create a set of Task Lists based on templates and post a first Message with general project information. Lately, we've started to use the Notebooks feature more and more. It's great for capturing call notes that would otherwise need to be posted as a Message as well as organizing other types of content that we'll need throughout the project. Next, we're hoping to take a look at some of the more advanced features of the system such as managing workloads by assigning time estimates to Tasks. Overall, we've been really happy with Teamwork and it's been an asset to our business. Pros Tasks, Messages and Notebooks Cons The Scheduling/Milestones still seems a little clunky. Writing and Editing Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Excellent Software for Project Management in Small to Medium Businesses" March 29, 2017 4.0 Our office has been using Teamwork for several months, and while not everyone in the company has moved to the system, those that have are quite happy with the way it functions in general. The level of customization that is available is robust enough to be useful, while simple enough to be functional for even an untrained employee, and has improved even in the few months we've been using it. It does require a lot of effort to build the systems and workflows that work for your company and industry, but once that is done maintenance and usage are fairly straightforward. My only recommendation to anyone considering this software is that you make sure you have executive buy-in. If the executives in your company don't get on the system, it will be much harder to get the rest of the organization in line. Executive time is certainly precious, but make the case for the software hard, and well before launch, because it is vital they be on it. Pros Customization, ease of use, multiple ways to organize your projects and workflows, employee interaction. February 1, 2017 4.0 My company relies on Teamwork Projects for all aspects of our business. It keeps us all organized, holds us all accountable, and allows us to easily communicate about projects. The latest updates they have made have made the experience even better. The only suggestion I would have is that due to the large volume of projects and tasks we have, I find switching between tasks can sometimes take more time than I would like. Pros Nice interface, helpful for managing people and projects, API makes it easy to integrate with other software we use such as Salesforce. The recently improved templates feature has been a godsend for us. Cons I am searching around for tasks a lot, they have a search feature and you can star projects, but I think it would be useful to integrate some sort of "recent tasks" view so you could easily revisit something you were working on in the same day. July 12, 2018 5.0 Seriously detailed project management capability. Super-charged project management. It makes Basecamp and Asana look clunky and wimpy, in that order! Pros I like the way Teamwork allows me to easily add files, links, and resources to my tasks. The Notebook function is a great place to organize passwords or boilerplate. But I'd have to say the ease with I can add and remove collaborators is a real perk. It helps me know that I am tracking each phase of the work process without cluttering in-boxes or needing to repeat myself. I've used the templates option to create standard work process checksheets to make certain I don't miss a step. There's also a way to make some tasks contingent on the ones prior, like dominos! Cons I have to look back at another dashboard to see if my team has completed the tasks delegated to their attention. And the email CRM doesn't compare with Nimble, so I'm really not using that function very much. Awesome! Pros The ability to collaborate with my customers has been a real asset. As I deal in road haulage compliance and there are a myriad of individual tasks and sub-tasks to keep track of, it has enabled me to create templates from which I can create individually tailored lists for my customers. I have introduced the software to 5 or 6 clients now and have received positive praise from all of them. I really like the overview as it keeps me and them on track and the daily notifications focus the mind on late tasks. I recommend Teamwork Projects to anyone that I think may find it useful - I certainly do. Cons To be honest, I struggle to find anything bad to say about it ... It would be a useful tool to be able to sort files into folders, but I suppose that is a development suggestion rather than a dislike. March 29, 2017 5.0 I've used Teamwork for several years, both for my own business and with clients. Prior to that I used Basecamp and Excel spreadsheets to keep up with everything. I am a virtual assistant, so I typically have 3-6 clients at one time, managing many different projects and tasks for each of them. Teamwork has saved my reputation and my sanity! It's easy to set up, easy to learn, and wonderfully easy to manage. I have also set up and now manage Teamwork accounts for several of my clients, and they love it as well. TW Projects keeps the entire team on track with their tasks, allows management to follow the progress of every project, and makes tracking time a breeze. I've just recently become a Certified Teamwork Expert; that's how much I love this program! Pros It's extremely user-friendly and easy to navigate. It has all the features you'd expect out of a project management tool, with a few extras that set it apart - for example, the freeform tagging system is very useful, and the filtering options make it really easy to get out the information you need. Projects makes it easy for us to track the amount of time spent on client projects and bill them accordingly and also makes it easy for us to track the time of our contractors so we can pay them quickly.
