Asana wasn't fulfilling our needs for recurring monthly tasks or projects that need to be reviewed by another team member before another task can be done. The ability to create dependent tasks is the most useful part for me in Teamwork Projects. Many of my projects require someone else to do something and get me material before I can begin my work. Teamwork Projects makes it easy to see that is done before I start working. Pros The interface is really great for showing you what you have upcoming and allowing to see the distribution of work throughout your team. It's easy to plan your day and to see what is overdue. I like the ability to set tasks as being dependent on other tasks being completed. Cons It is a little awkward and clunky to delete tasks and to duplicate tasks. May 15, 2019 5.0 Every person on my marketing team uses teamwork, including several of our outside consultants. It’s a great way to manage projects and communicate! Pros It’s easy to dive right into teamwork and start using it on day one. My team switched from another project management platform to teamwork within a week and it was all self-taught. Very easy to understand and intuitive UX Cons The one drawback for me is that there is not an option to use the calendar feature to block off dates so tasks can’t be assigned during that period. It would be handy to be able to schedule vacations or days off in the calendar and prevent people from assigning tasks due on those days! July 9, 2018 5.0 Our management team is able to work together throughout our company wide projects and goals. We were able to structure Teamwork into working with the OKR projects we carry throughout the year. Pros Our company is different in the way that we do not have an actual project manager. Basically, we trained all of our Manager to be able to be "Project Managers". This wasn't an easy task, but Teamwork was an easy enough platform to make training doable. Cons As a company, we had to really restructure the layout provided. We also had to be inventive with having different Project Managers. (Which Teamwork just released a new feature of allowing a Project Manager, which they did not have before.) It helps me juggle a number of highly-technical and detailed tasks and teams without dropping the ball. Pros I lead a lot of cross-functional teams with individuals in different areas of the organization -- where I may or may not have direct control of their time. Teamwork is the ideal way to provide visibility into their work (and point out anything that is falling behind!) in a way that's concrete and transparent. I love that I can spin up a project in a matter of minutes and capture the key details of a new mini-project right in a meeting. Cons The Gantt view is hidden! This is one of my biggest pet peeves. For a PM software to hide the calendaring and Gantt functions seems pretty crazy. Also, in order to have something show up on the Gantt view you have to take several additional steps. Granted, I don't want every task on there, but it should be more intuitive how to populate this important tool. We've been able to take our small agency's process and migrate it into Teamwork. We have built an internal tool using the API for building out functionality that is important to us that Teamwork doesn't offer-- methods for tracking budgets, project health comparing estimated time and time spent for specific members of our team, and a whole-organization project scheduler. Teamwork has the right tools for us, though the many different methods to accomplish similar tasks can be overwhelming. All that to say, we enjoy using it, and it gets the job done. Pros It is fairly flexible in allowing multiple methods and processes of task & project management. There a Cons The API is great, but could use a few more data points, and is fairly slow. Pros User friendly task management, great reports and layouts to easily see where things are. I like that Teamwork Desk works with Teamwork Projects because it helps our organization with managing requests and the tasks associated with them. Cons I don't like that if you use both Project and Desk, if you want to get the enterprise version, you need to pay to upgrade the same users on both systems in order for them to work together. Also, I think there should be an easier way to use templates to create tasks so that it generates the individual emails that can be replied to, like a regular task. Right now, it generates one email when template is used to create tasks and users cannot reply. We wanted to use this functionality to manage our Emergency Response events, but due to the limited functionality with this we are not able to set it up the way it would be easiest for us. " September 25, 2017 4.0 Keeping track of projects start dates and finish dates. But not everyone keeps track of their hours using it. Making in-house comments on projects Pros Tasks with milestones. Attaching notebooks and files to individual projects. In-project emailing and comments. Being able to move tasks up and down the pages, from task to task. Cons Can NOT put a milestone to a sub task??!!! This is very important for us as Project Managers; to be able to sub divide up project work. Also, trying to set up a task with set hours which count down as the project processes. I'm sure it's there somewhere but it's not easy to find! Giving some sort of training would be good.... anything I've found on-line is basic. This is how you grow your business.... provide training for what you have existing!! Trying to use the program on a mobile or ipad is next to impossible, there has to be an easier set up?! My projects show go in alphabetical order, not my clients. I have set up a template for a project, but it comes in under a main task so have to move them all across as I can't set up mile stones under subtasks!!!!! Everything is very boxy and it takes a lot of effort to actually drill down into a task and work on it. But with a large group or project, you must pay for a paid version, because the function for a free version is very limited. It has a dashboard and activity tool which allow you to manage your projects, you can also send comment and message to the other members, create events. In case you have many projects you can use quick links function to create shortcuts and you can jump to the project whenever you want to find it. It has helped us to coordinate our team in the different types of projects that we do both internally and for customers. I really like that Teamwork projects has an attractive and easy to use user interface and the customer service is amazing. There are a few features that could use improvement and I can see that the Teamwork projects developers are making a lot of work to improve the solution. I really like that Teamwork projects is integrated with a help desk and with a chat application. I highly recommend Teamwork projects!
