Pros I like that it is a good PM tool, it allows you to manage your projects as well as add your team. It is also great for file sharing. Cons It took me a while to get used to it and even after that I found it to be a little extra for my needs. the user interface could be better and some functionalities could be enhanced. September 26, 2017 5.0 We can better analyse and predict project timings, we meet more deadlines. We do share technical information more easily . Pros Greate feature set, robust and price performance is good. There are plenty of integrations plus the recent office 365 integration was a great addition. Cons Chat must be a integrated more tightly with the project and maybe even with the desk. Also a few software development related integrations can become a game changer. For example bitbucket or github integrations can help software developers to create better workflows centered on teamwork projects. August 15, 2017 5.0 Efficient project organization. Pros This system is very easy to use. It helps keep our projects organized and on schedule. I love the chart view and being able to see the project milestones in relation to the overall project timeline. Cons We also use Teamwork Desk for support tickets, which is great because it links to our projects. However, if you're adding a support ticket and there is no project already open to link it to, you have to back out of this dashboard and go into the main teamwork dashboard to create the project. Visualization is possible and is a good feature. Events can be managed using a calendar. The log time which appears in front of the project or task is a great feature. Individual progress can be tracked using this software. A user can quickly create tasks and projects and assign them to a person. Read/Reply to messages. August 16, 2017 4.0 Pros I was part of setting up TeamWork projects for the company I worked for so I know the software from top to bottoms and was the go-to for any company-wide questions. I really liked the ease of how to set-up recurring similar projects and be able to adjust timelines on many tasks with just a few clicks. One of my favorite features is the Gantt chart which allows the user to see a visual timeline of any project and adjust the timeline in the view as well. Cons There is a strong lacking of solid reporting features. I can get a very limited number of reports together but can't custom request specific assignees or specific tasks to check on. Every time I've contacted them with questions, they've answered within a few hours with complete, helpful answers. Excellent customer support! Pros 1\. Teamwork Projects has plenty of functionality, but you can choose what pieces you want to use in each project. For example, you can track billable hours but since I provide internal services, I do not add the Billing feature to any of my projects. It's not just that I can leave it blank, that entire section no longer appears, which definitely simplifies things. If you have many team members, you may need a message board, but some of my projects are really just me so again, I can leave that feature out. 2. In general, Teamwork allows you to use the software however is most useful for you. It does not force you to go through a detailed, rigorous project planning process. Sometimes you need the formal process and sometimes you don't, and I greatly appreciate being able to choose. 3. Simple, consistent interface. As a software trainer, I can't tell you how much I appreciate this! 2. Cons My only complaints are minor things like I often accidentally check off tasks as done when I mean to edit them because the buttons are next to each other. December 21, 2017 4.0 Overall, a solid, affordable project management platform that is still growing and improving. Pros Feature-rich project management solution: project details, tasks, task lists, milestones, files, risks, Gantt charts and reports, etc. You can invite collaborators (clients) without having to pay for more user seats. You can automate daily digests to users to make them aware of the workload and put them in control. Cons With all the functionality comes a higher learning curve. I believe this makes it best-suited for larger organizations (we have 15 employees) with multiple large teams. An UI update came in 2017 and although it provided a new "card" view to the Tasks page (similar to Trello) and it looks/feels a bit nicer, the overall usability is lacking in areas of customized dashboards and export options. I considered deploying Teamwork for my own team's task management, but found asana to have a much cleaner UI and they're always adding new features on that platform. Pros The software does its job and allows our team to collaborate. A client deployed this, so I receive notifications when they assign me tasks. So from that perspective, it does its job. Cons There are random UI bugs that haven't been resolved for years. When submitting a comment, I always have to hit the submit button twice. On top of that, the UI is quite a mess when trying to navigate between multiple projects and lists. It's great that they have all the 'drilling down' of tasks you'd want to have (lists, tasks, subtasks) but it is presented in a very slow manner on the site. Makes it easy for our ads agency to divide projects. Cons I really don't like how basic and not user friendly TeamWork is. It's clunky to move around projects and task lists and if you're not an admin, you can't make changes to tasks that aren't assigned to you. One look and I can see the tasks and subtasks for the day. All the functions are there right beside the task name: the timer, description, due date, attached files, etc - everything can be accessed easily, unlike other PM tools where you need to pull up another 'window' to access their features. I also love that it has a timer on its own, and you don't need to connect it to another app (AKA harvest time tracker) Cons Nothing I can't live without. It's not the prettiest pm tool out there - by pretty, I mean visually, aesthetically (think Asana). But I still think it's the best. Used the software for: ### "Getting to grips with Teamwork in a consultancy setting" March 29, 2017 4.0 We have started using Teamwork for a range of reasons, including: to manage projects better, to provide information on deployment and workload, to plan delivery of an increasing project workload and to give the company a better idea of the cost (i.e time taken) to generate project income. We have been trying to slowly introduce TW to project managers and team members. Getting buy in has been quite hard - some people are naturally attracted to using these kinds of things and others just aren't - it is a matter of personality! We also didn't want to introduce full timesheet processes, be too dictatorial, or force people to use something they didn't see value in using. So we are taking a different approach right now, which we hope will give people options, beyond providing basic information of estimates of time inputs and deadlines. I have only started rolling this out today (!) so will be interesting to see how it pans out. One key issue we are trying to resolve is to set and manage tasks at the right scale. My current view is that TW works best when tasks are short jobs of a few hours to a few days, rather than the much longer consultancy-type tasks I'm more familiar with. Tasks (or sub tasks) at this scale are more tractable and form the basis of actions between team members, better than something nebulous like 'model development', which is hard to get a handle on. Again it's early days so will be interesting to see how it goes. We are also still in the very early stages of using TW for messages, and getting settings right, so that users receive the right amount of notifications from the system. That's the most important purpose of this software and it actually helps you to do that effectively. I couldn't be happier. Pros Laying out your project in Teamwork is pretty straightforward. Keeping track of time spent per project is also very easy too. Catch drifting before it becomes too expensive to become back on track. Cons Sometimes if you have too many tasks and open the task list, your computer might get slow. In this case, you have to use with filters so you can actually find the task you need. November 4, 2020 5.0 Pros This is simply the most intuitive collaboration software I have ever used. Having recently joined a new organization, not only was my onboarding managed with ease via Teamwork, but moving into more complex processes has been seamless. Teamwork eliminated any "ramp up" need do to the platform; I was able to hit the ground running. Cons The only thing I could ask for is more default/built-in options for filtering, but with the ability to create custom filters and save for use (at a click of literally one button), it's still very useful! Pros This is new to me but we have several projects/customers and we use it to track internal and external tasks to keep everyone organized. This works so much better than any sort of "to-do list" and really helps to share with just who needs to see it so that each individual can view exactly what they need to. Cons It's a lot of information so there's a pretty big platform. That can be a little intimidating to start with so it's best to limit who sees which tasks to keep things organized for each individual. Pros My company uses Teamwork to manager workflow and project due dates. I cannot express how easy it is to use as well as to maintain productivity. You can manage tasks throughout the process and it is all drag-and-drop. It is hard for tasks to fall through the cracks because the user interface is easy to navigate and use. This software is great for both small and large projects. Cons Because this software is so detailed, it can be a bit overwhelming at first.
