Great upgrade from Basecamp" June 27, 2017 5.0 Better task management for all our client. Pros More functionality then we had with Basecamp. This is one of the main reasons we started to look for other solutions. Basecamp just didn't cut it with our growing agency needs. Cons UI can be a little tough to get used to, but once you do, it's a great tool. We love the ability to create sub-tasks of sub-tasks. This was a must for our agency. I also liked that I could reveal/hide features based on what my organization needs (ex. time management, billing, milestones) for each project. The risk tracking tool was also an interesting idea. Cons It takes a lot of steps to get to your list of tasks, and it's not immediately clear how to add a new task from the My Tasks interface. You can create shortcuts to projects, but there wasn't an easy shortcut to see only things assigned to me, or only things due soon. My less tech-savvy colleagues also felt like it was complicated to add due dates and assign tasks. It's has so much functionality for managing projects and reporting. I can't imagine using anything else. Account management and support are very responsible and competent. They actually know how to use the platform and make helpful recommendations. Cons In Teamwork, there are many different ways to view that same thing. I think that sometimes this gets confusing for users. But it also provides advantage and lets you look at things the way they make the most sense to you. Technical SEO Manager Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Good for task scheduling etc but found that there were other platforms that offered more features" January 10, 2019 3.0 The platform might have improved since I used it, but I think there are better platforms out there (we moved to Glasscubes for example). Pros \- All work related tasks could be stored online in a central location for each employee, so could be accessed from any device (in the past I'd written lists of tasks but had lost these). - Ability to add start/due dates for tasks which helped with deadlines etc. Cons \- Ended up wasting time i.e. receiving a task from a colleague via email and then having to go in and add this as a task in Teamwork. - Often tasks were missed because colleagues would assign them to one another (in order for it to really work, you'd need to login and check your Teamwork notifications and task list at least once everyday - I certainly don't have the time to do so). - Not really - especially for a larger business with 30+ clients. Pros I love the reporting side of Teamwork it has allowed me to quickly get a view into how our development team is spending their time while also identifying high performers and giving me the ability to support lower performers. Cons I am not a fan of their only being one site owner that has full access to all the settings. We have multiple directors who utilize the platform and would love to have a few people be able to manage all settings. Used the software for: ### "The right decision for Project Management Software" March 29, 2017 5.0 When first tasked to find a user-friendly SaaS PM solution, I looked and tested/demo many platforms. From the initial trial, it became very clear that Teamwork was hands down the best option for our company. It has a very user friendly interface, is powerful enough for what we need, is flexible in the way you can manage your projects, has great tools for copying tasks/milestones and projects (which saves a lot of time) and has fairly good reporting (would like more custom reporting options). Since subscribing (I guess about a year ago now), we have not regretted our decision. The tech support is very quick to respond and have on occasion presented an alternate solution to my question. We have experienced no outages, was a bit slow for a day or so, but they quickly resolved that issue. They have great training videos through their YouTube channel and are proactive in notifying you of enhancements and are transparent on their future development road map. I also think the value for money is great, we really appreciate the pricing being based on the number of projects and not the number of users, this allows us to not limit the number of users assigned to a project to just those critical few and therefore allows more exposure to our projects from a larger team....this is critical for us. I would highly recommend Teamwork, certainly worth a demo if you are looking for a SaaS based product....its intuitive design will make your decision an easy one. The features fit perfect for our needs and the ability to add new projects, team members, and tasklists is super easy. In addition, the Teamwork Project chrome extension is the perfect addition, so tasks and new projects can be assigned from anywhere in your browser. I use this mostly in my gmail inbox as new client emails arrive, I create tasks in Teamwork and assign them to a team member and I'm done. For projects to run smoothly I needed to get everyone onboard. There is a steep learning curve. Pros The features offered in Teamwork are extensive, and I found it easy to break a project up into smaller tasks and assign them to users. The 100mb of space on the free plan was also great. Cons There aren't many cons to be honest, except it took me a bit of time to learn everything, which made onboarding new staff a little tricky. The charting options are also a little limited. Inability to keep one comprehensive list of all Partner contacts with all necessary details in a convenient to use and share format (external from Teamwork) - no personalisation with user profile entries. 2. Too many separate mailing lists to keep (e.g. roles under each project) mailing lists (e.g. role lists) do not get updated automatically when the main contact list is updated 3. Technical bugs: a. recent precedent - losing half of contacts in lists of roles b. many Partners not receiving emails (still goes to spam!) c. impossible to save messages during editing 4. This holds all the contact details of that company and it's users. Each user can personalize their profile, with contact details, avatars, job details, notes and more. 2. Regarding mailing lists - as long as you add the necessary people to a project and to a role then they will automatically receive email notifications provided you selected to email notify the person/ role in task in question. You do not need to keep email lists yourself, Teamwork Projects will automatically pull this information to notify your users. 3. I'll pass on all of these reports to the team.
