I opted to go all out with Loyalty, Payments, Analytics, etc so that I'm dealing with less vendors, because in the past with any integrations etc the blame gets shoved to the other vendor when something isn't working

Pros

Cloud based, I can access from anywhere simple/easy to use paperless (of course) no need to backup/save copies operates on a tablet analytics, etc available integrations

Cons

customer service long hold times (phone) too big a company to have an assigned service rep that cares/understands your concerns no ability to operate temporarily in the event of an internet glitch

I choose Lightspeed's add on features to keep it simple and under one company.

The whole team at Lightspeed has been really wonderful to work with. I'm really happy that we chose to go with them for our retail POS and eCom. Our reps and points of contact were really wonderful to work with. They were friendly, knowledgeable, super on top of emails, and have done everything in their power to get our shop set up for success. Because Lightspeed doesn't have personal emails for techs, our rep was great to have on the inside and could help relay messages or assist with answering questions on the fly. Throughout our buildouts of both Retail and eCom, we've had really great experiences with everyone that supported us along the way!

Pros

We have only been using Lightspeed for a short time. We switched from a very old POS system, and the LS team helped up a lot in transferring our information over. We love that the Retail platform is completely integrated with the eCom platform. That cuts down on half the workload! The interface is super easy to use and easy to train staff on. I also appreciate the online training modules available so that staff can learn at their own pace.

Cons

It would be great if there was a 24-hour chat option available on eCom. There is a 24-hour customer service line available, but sometimes there is a long wait before getting connected to a tech. I did appreciate the call-back feature so that I didn't need to wait on hold the whole time.

### "Lightspeed was the right choice for growing my small business"

One of the main reasons I am happy with LS is because I feel that my business is going to continue to grow and that LS can support that growth. There is nothing worse than setting up and online store and then deciding that you should be using a different platform and having to start over again. I think LS is a platform that is worth committing to and growing your business with.

Pros

Having no prior experience in Ecom or POS systems I am very happy with how easy LS is to use. I feel like I am learning at a rapid rate and building knowledge that will help me grow my current and future brick and mortar and online stores. LS makes me feel like my business will continue to grow and that I will continue to gain knowledge on how to run a small business. The support is fantastic, they are patient and very helpful when it comes to explaining how it all works. I am now able to maintan my Ecom without a web designer.

Cons

Sometimes the ecom templates feel limited and I don't like that you have to pay monthly to upgrade them. There is no LS app for Android.

There purchasing orders need work. If your a store that deals many orders like a convenience, grocery, liquor store etc. This system is not for you. It's unable to track inventory correctly unless your receive the order immediately before it's out on your shelves. The inventory is unable to go negative which makes it a huge hassle to double check inventory constantly. Your restricted to only a couple credir card processors. There are a couple more cloud based systems on the market around the same price range that have been more stable over the years. I would stay away they may be going bankrupt since they all the customers will be switching after this year because of the performance issues of being down so often

Pros

They got a large staff to apologize for the constant outages that occur with there software English speaking customer service Sleek design Mobile Friendly Comprehensive Reporting

Cons

I've had the system for a little over a year now and it has had glitches at least 10 times to where it is unusable and you have to go cash only. Point of Sale systems cannot have that many issues in one year. It's unacceptable.

Amazing! 10/10

Pros

We use the e-com and it's great. It's affordable, very easy and accessible to anybody. The themes are versatile and we can change lay outs at anytime. Our plan allows us to publish in 3 languages, and it's very easy the set up. Integration with SEO makes our work more efficient as well. We used the support team several times during the set up, and every time they were very supportive. 10/10

Cons

Nothing really. I did have a free trial period with a leading competition company, and Lightspeed is much easier the set up.

So helpful as I'm scaling my bakery business. I like focusing on making nice cupcakes and not on all of the techy stuff.

Cons

It was hard for me to get going with the software but the support team was really helpful. Thanks a billion!

The greatest aspect of Lightspeed has to be their customer service. I've made probably 30 calls over the past 4 years and have always dealt with people who could solve my problems fast and effieciently!

Pros

The Lightspeed software is very easy to learn. I'm not very tech savvy at all, but after a week or two I felt very comfortable with almost all aspects of the program.

Cons

The only negative would be, I live in Newfoundland, we have lots of storms and the power goes out frequently. I do sometimes have to call after outages to sync my ipad with my receipt printer. This probably happens with all POS systems, I've just only ever used lightspeed for my business.

I have used quite a few POS systems, none had ever been as easy to learn and continually use as Lightspeed is. They offer linking to our company-specific rewards program which is great for business and great for our customers. Lastly, on Lightspeed, I am able to access all kinds of statistics and metrics companywide, such as employee performance, sales per location, overall sales, profit margin, etc. Overall the best POS I have used to date.

Pros

Easy to learn, understand, and use daily, additional features allow company specific rewards programs to be linked to your account, access to metrics and company sales/profit statistics

Cons

When there are server or system crashes - but they do resolve them fairly quickly

Pros

IOS software, wanted to switch to iPads and mini iPads and also the idea of the cloud was interesting .

Cons

20 years in business with multiple locations and decided to try lightspeed at one of my restaurants because i consider myself an apple guy. Worst decision i ever made, for the most part i got the worst dealer ever, where they don't know what they are selling, most of the issues i have had to resolve myself by calling the company direct, and that sometimes is a challenge as well. A year and half later and the system is still not doing what my old system used to do, not able to print certain reports, most nights can't close out the credit cards( most times i pray that i will be able to do it ). if you own a restaurant this is not a system for you!!!!! simple retail I'm sure its fine, but busy restaurant its just to able to handle all the customization needed. RESTAURANTS PLEASE DO NOT USE LIGHTSPEED, YOU WILL REGRET IT IF YOU DO.

We solved our inventory issues with this new system. We were also able to sync our eCommerce site with this system.

Pros

The team made this transition from our old system a breeze. They normally state 10-14 days, but it took 2-3 days for the information to be transferred over and set up. We were also able to be included on the new Loyalty system and we transferred our existing customers to this system as well. The new system was very user friendly, our employees are now able to make sales and quote customers. We also were able to install another app to have real time inventory reduced from our eCommerce site.

Cons

I wish that we could have employee scheduling integrated in the system.

Ce système a vraiment simplifié mes opérations de vente au détail et ma compatbilité. Que dire de la prise d'inventaire? Un pur bonheur. Ce qui me prennait des heures à étiquetter ne me prends que quelques minutes maintenant. Je suis vraiment heureux. Comme tout n'est pas parfait, qques petits bogues d'imprimante, de disposition et de langue mais rien de majeur. C'est un logiciel qui n'a pas fait augmenté mes ventes mais m'a rendu plus efficace donc, s'est avéré rentable!

Pros

Facile à utiliser, vraiment bien pensé pour les magasins de vélo. capricieux sur les logiciels et appareils compatbiles.

Cons

Un peu trop optimisé pour les shops de vélos. Dans le cas de prise de rendez-vous, ça nous semble moins évident.

We've started our business, almost 2 years ago.Opening a restaurant was far more complex than anticipated. It was a new experience for us. In the food industry everything goes so fast. We are glad that we chose Lightspeed POS for restaurant. It suits our needs and is user friendly.

Pros

The software is easy to use. At the beginning we use quite a lot the technical support and always received a great service. Our employees quickly learned how to use the system and enjoy how efficient it is. Employee time tracking is also very easy; they punch directly on the ipad. No more waste of time compiling timesheets.

Cons

When we started using the software, it was hard to go back to a bill and add an item if one of the other customer sitting at the same table had already paid. The problem have been addressed.

Personal and professional. The POS, back end is very intuitive and easy to learn to use. Reporting features are easy to follow and read.

Pros

The assistance with the onboarding. Very easy to migrate SKUS, inventory count in to. The customer support was 100% never long wait times and the reps would walk you through step by step. The follow up from Lightspeed, they want to know that you are 100% satisfied. The easy of setting up, Lightspeed has many how tos, webinars and one on one sessions to help you through all of the set up.

Cons

Nothing really stands out as a con. We have had the software 7 months and so far it has been very good. I am looking forward to a mobile app if they every develop one.

### "Buyer Beware"

A company should be judged not when we things go as expected, but when things go wrong and this company will stop at nothing to avoid fault. When I contacted sales, I was very clear (via email and phone) that I would purchase the system ONLY if it had integration to my PMS. I was assured by sales that it would and I signed my agreement and wired funds for software, hardware, and installation (including a $348 fee for integration to the PMS). When we were ready to launch I learned, from the PMS provider, there was no short-term plan, or possibly ever, for an integration between the two systems. At this point, I needed to get my restaurant open and in desperation began to source a new PMS that had a current integration with Lightspeed. I found such and was willing to switch PMS providers (not an easy task for any hotelier) but asked them to pay the small direct cost of transferring data and extend my service agreement the five months that I had not been able to use the system. It was at this point that their "Customer Success" team got involved. They circled the wagons around the sales team and said that they never promised an integration, but would break with "policy" and 'give' me three months of additional service. It was at this point that I knew I could never work with this company and asked for a complete refund, which they have refused. In nearly 30 years of dealing with vendors, I have never met a company so shameless in their business practices. Buyer beware.

Pros

Programming was straightforward and intuitive.

Cons

The sales department will say anything to make a sale, with shameless disregard for the truth.

The POS allows me to run my small business effortlessly. The software is user friendly on all levels.

Pros

Lightspeed is easy for all employees to use. The process to open and close register, the numerous reports that offer great business in site and off site access are all great reasons why I recommend this cloud base retail software.

Cons

The refund screen is unusual. It is very different that I have had in the passed retail software that I have used. And I have use a lot over my 25 years in retail sales.

Reason for choosing Lightspeed Retail

Retail Point suggested Lightspeed would be the best option for my type of small business so I just used their advice. I am very pleased.

Pros

The software is reasonably priced and very user friendly.

Cons

Being an independent retail wine shop, we have a very limited budget. We would like to obtain the analytics component in additional to our current plan, however it is not in our means.

Having a professional platform like Lightspeed bring efficiency and capacity to the back end of any business. It's easy for new staff to pick up and powerful for the seasoned employee to dig deep into.

Pros

Lightspeed organizes all of my daily business needs in one cloud-based website with customization formats to make it work perfectly for my bike shop's needs. From daily work orders to placing orders, making reports, and tracking numbers this program rocks!

Cons

I wish Lightspeed had the capacity to manage my bike rental fleet. I also wish there was a timer on work orders so mechanics could keep track of their work duration.

Inventory control, purchasing, calculating monthly sales tax, reviewing product histories, creating customer lists.

Pros

We can now track our order requests, simplifying our purchase order process; we can review our best sellers, and create necessary reports fairly quickly with the ability to filter the fields we need. The support team is awesome and are very willing to work with us to fix any issues that often are user created.

Cons

We've experienced some bugs in the software, but updates keep coming through which correct most of them. The user manual can be cumbersome at times but with persistence we usually can find the answers we need. I wish there were a way to automatically put in zip codes when an address is put into a customer card; also wish there was a prompt for a duplicate address.

Really phenomenal customer service and the best retail/service platform for bike shops I have ever seen. There a re also many helpful videos available for common useage and interface questions.

Pros

Excellent interface with my vendors, easy purchase order templates. Lightspeed also has a really solid platform for repairs/bicycle work orders. It allows me to write accurate quotes and manage all aspects of my business from one place.

Cons

The inventory search function in the can be cumbersome. You need to take caution when categorizing inventory to be referenced and found more easily. The more tags you use the better.

Unable to have mutiple menus for selection on self order ipad They added third party merchant payment fee, even when you are not integrated to Moneris or any of their payment systems
