So decided to open the coolest concept in Downtown El Paso. A bike boutique cafe. So Podium Finish Sports Boutique & Cafe was born. Our first week we used spreadsheets ( don't ) Then we signed up for shopkeep. ( don't ) shopkeep is a small point of sale that has no versatility. You cant even do a simple layaway or in-house financing. During a trade show at Interbike, I was definitely shopping for a POS. Talked to 3 providers and Lightspeed was not only knowledgeable and friendly but super affordable. The software is powerful and most importantly user-friendly When I say powerful I mean it. We offer a wide range of athlete gear and supply, a full menu prepared by a chef, every style of coffee you can drink, 6 indoor virtual trainers, a fully stocked bike shop and mechanic and a bike fit studio. We run it all via lightspeed and we haven't even started with e-com yet. We are very pleased with the program not to mention the fast customer service. Our IP address changed...one phone call and they jumped on my computer and fixed it fast. A+

Pros

It can handle a multitude of tasks, retail, restaurant, service, layaway, inside financing, image inventory and so much more

Pros

eCom has a good array of features and potential features. Too bad none of them work properly. The interface looks good despite not being very functional.

Cons

As a software engineer, I've had to install, customize, create and use dozens of e-commerce platforms and within those, Lightspeed is by far the worst e-commerce platform I have ever used. It is full of major bugs and lacks features that even the most basic and cheap e-commerce solutions have. Reported (major) bugs take more than 6 months to even get looked at, and that is if they ever decide to fix them. There is no community forums, support chat was disabled because there were too many requests and the only place to suggest new features is never looked at or updated. Every month, they keep promising updates and fix that never happen, or even worse, they tell you that bugs are fixed when they are not. Lightspeed eCom is a very expensive scam, I recommend you stay away from it.

Overall an excellent company and product. The integration of payment processing is great but there have been too many crashes or glitches in the processing end over the last few months. They need to find ways to prevent it from happening so frequently.

Pros

Ease of use and accessibility to reports. I trained my youngest child to ring out customers in five minutes.

Cons

Too many crashes lately with lightspeed payments. Sometimes tech support takes too long to respond or provide a fix. In retail we can't wait hours.

Pros

We have four shops. This is a great system to use to keep track of inventory between our stores. Highly recommend.

Cons

They do require you to pay for more analytics and it can get a bit expensive

Pros

Lightspeed is very versatile and is helpful with so many things from inventory to customer history and analytics. We use this daily and helps keep our store running!

Cons

About once a quarter we have an outage, this is due to updates and lightspeed being cloud based. Other than these outages (that always happen at the most inopportune time), lightspeed has worked well for our store.

While we are new in the process the head office has been superb in hooking us up with a consultant since we are new in the process of integrating this front end powerful piece with backend accounting software

I own a women’s clothing, accessory and gift boutique..Fusion Boutique and we are so happy with our switch to lgihtspeed. We love the inventory management, the ability to sell in store and online without having to worry about updating inventory and th support staff is amazing! Lightsleed has everything built in that you would need and if you have problems call suport! I would highly recommend Lightspeed -Sara Jacobson

\-import functions for existing inventory and customer information -ability to hold tons of skus (we have thousands and it hasn’t let us down) -customer service is phenomenal - when we were integrating I called into support A LOT and the support staff is by far top of the line. You talk to a real person and they are available 24/7. Plus support is knowledgeable, friendly and timely in resolving tasks. - simple and easy to use -customer management section can enter in customer info to track sales and also data such as email address -reporting reporting reporting! You can view top customers, sales by category, brand and vendor, employee sales and so much more -can sell in store and online with all your inventory accounted for no matter how your customers are buying

Cons

\-if you want to print a gift receipt you cannot do it for an individual item..it is for the entire purchase -there is not a built in rewards and you have to go through a third party

Hands down one of the best companies to work with. Forget their industry, you could put this company in any vertical and they would succeed. I believe their management puts the employees first which creates happy employees and enables them to serve their customers to the fullest.

Pros

I like how robust and capable the software is however, its presentation is so crisp and streamline its incredibly easy to use.

Cons

The application for mobile is my least favorite. I use Ipads in my stores and the app crashes constantly. The good news is the troubleshooting is never very complicated and usually takes 2-3 minutes to solve but it happens enough to be noticeable.

I'm pretty tech orientated so by the time I had all the onboarding seminars I was already up and running, using the product daily. They were however helpful for questions and for someone who doesn't know much about computers or POS systems, the onboarding seminars are amazing. Using the product is simple and straightforward without being dumbed down. A lot of systems cram so much into one thing it's easy to get lost, others strip it down so much is loses functionality. Lightspeed has found a great place in between.

Pros

The software is easy to use and customize to my needs. It was super fast to get up and running, plus the customer service is amazing. From tailoring features to answering basic questions at 2 a.m. Lightspeed is on point.

Cons

The free template for the website has some drawbacks....but it's free so that's that. I didn't do enough research up front on the templates.

Overall it is a great program. The shortfalls in the eStore is a handoff for the ease of use in the retail and the integrating of inventory between the two systems.

Pros

Integrated inventory makes life easier.

Cons

Doesn't allow for enough variety per product in online store; and the drop down menu doesn't always match the photo that pops up per product making the customer interaction somewhat confusing. I've requested a system upgrade for this for over two years with no avail.

Pros

If you run a business, investing in this service is very much advised. The customer service is like none I have experienced; from the onboarding process through those oh-my-goodness moments when you need help right away through their customer service check-ins, every time shines. They follow up to each inquiry with an email documenting your conversation (this means you don’t have to remember it all, you can go look at the email again!), they are always friendly and don’t mind taking over the computer to help remotely. They make inventory management easy, which makes it beyond easy to create a website, and makes managing multiple locations a breeze, even moving inventory between them. The sales interface was easy for even my newest employees to learn. When they had a question, there was an existing tutorial I could point them to. All in all, I have been thrilled with my experience.

Cons

When I consolidated my business from 2 locations to 1, it took some manual work on my end to make it all work, but it happened. Having a way to automate a huge inventory move would be lovely.

### "Transforming the business at the speed of light"

This was a significant transformation for us. The business was previously operating with a circa 1980s cash register, no inventory management system, no purchasing, nothing. We took more time than anticipated to cut-over, (by a few days) but the system was tolerant of our mistakes and allowed us to easily correct things such as inventory that went negative. Now, day by day, we understand how well the business is running and can make informed decisions on all aspects of the business. Along the way, we are getting better and better at using it. We are able to maintain a high degree of integrity to the system's data so we that can trust and rely on it. Overall it's an experience I would gladly repeat because the business is now being run on a state of the art platform

Pros

It is a contemporary cloud-based architecture, our only investment was in iPads and cash drawer. The interface has an appealing user experience. The inventory management system is designed for retail. It has an iPad based POS. The credit card processing is fast (5 seconds) The system is tolerant of non-computer fluent users.

Cons

Very few needs for improvement. It would be great to have clearer, more defined user experience for special orders, but this is only a minority of our business

Excellent. The company has been out standing from start to finish. I would do it all over again.

Pros

Easy to use. From time to time we have to bring in helpers that just donate time so there is no long time use. They have to get up and going quick. It does it! They learn quick! Very easy to use.

Cons

I haven't used the purchase order part of this system. I'm hoping its as easy as the rest.

Overall great experience with Lightspeed POS. It makes managing inventory very simple and includes several different reports at no extra charge.

Pros

Easy to use interface Inventory management Time clock management Customer service - can call or use the built-in chat feature - Both work very well

Cons

Credit card processor integrations (very few to choose from) Can be "buggy" during peak times Several needed reports are only available if you purchase an upgrade

Since there is nothing for customer service I’ll leave it here, the customer service for this company sucks big time, no communication no support, I was given the run around for over 3 months trying to get everything situated and still nothing I just want return labels and my money back at this point

Nothing at all couldn’t get it up and going thanks to the crappy support I was given

Couldn’t get it going due to no customer support give.

So far, everyone I have dealt with has been pleasant and quick to respond. Everyone from sales, support, and regular account management has been incredibly easy to work with.

Pros

It is a very straight forward piece of software. It has an abundance of features that make day to day operations a breeze. It is very easy to customize for every level of employee giving individuals access to only features I want to have. I am learning more as I go, but so far I am nothing but excited.

Cons

The one downside is that at my store (Pet food and supplies) some products are sold by the pound or ounce. Our old POS allowed for partial/decimal quantities and was easy to key in those products. I had to redo all of those products to grams and ounces to make them billable.

Lightspeed offered the best price for the options we needed, and it was the easiest POS to navigate.

I have been very happy with this POS software and how easy it is to use. Highly recommended!!

Pros

EVERYTHING! Very easy to use! This software you can almost teach to yourself just by playing with it.

Cons

The only downside is availability of live tech support. It sometimes takes a long time to be able to reach someone by phone. They do have a call back option which is great but last time I used it it was about 45 min before I got a call back. So resolving something at the moment when a customer is there is probably not a viable option. When you do reach them they are great. I did make a mistake when receiving a purchase order by accidentally receiving it twice so it doubled the amount and it cannot be corrected. The only way support said is I have to do a vendor return but that is not really a vendor return. That is a problem they need to fix. You should be able with owner log in to delete the purchase order and redo it.

Pros

The staff are always very helpful and understanding whenever questions arise.

Cons

I feel that there is a lot to learn and that we are only scratching the surface of what Lightspeed could be doing for our business. Not the fault of the software, just that there is a lot to learn.

Pros

The reporting features are great when they work and this is relatively easy to use.

Cons

The customer service. I've had Lightspeed since 2013 and used to rave about it. They sold it to me because of a seamless integration with Shopify and great reports. During the past 6 months, some of my favorite reports have been unavailable. Every time I ask about them the answer is "we're working on it." The Shopify integration is no longer available. They never said this. Instead of warning the customer about possible inventory issues this causes, they let it get to the point that I sold things we haven't had in the store for months. Every time I called about this they would do a "push through" - this would NOT correct the issue, but it would make me spend hours fixing other issues. After 6 months of wondering what is going on and asking to break the contract that they got me in because of this feature that no longer works, they come clean...the Shopify feature no longer works.

The software is so user friendly and I can work the back end from my own phone while not in the restaurant!

Need more integration with Labor reports. Should have the employees rates of pay.

Great experience so far. I am migrating from Clover to Lightspeed for my POS in my retail store and setting up our eCommerce site.

Pros

The Lightspeed staff support and service is excellent. Lightspeed ensured that I had the right set of products, both software and hardware and followed up with me during the entire process to ensure I was successful in my transition from another POS product. I highly recommend Lightspeed to anyone looking for a POS solution and an eCommerce solution.

Cons

Expensive compared to other solutions, but you get what you pay for....very satisfied!
