J'ai eu l'occasion de tester plusieurs logiciels de caisse, au delà du fait que cette société est américaine et qu'elle nous soumet au bon vouloir de son gouvernement qui peut bloquer toute notre économie en 1 clic, il s'agit surtout d'un système qui ne prend aucunement en compte le besoin d'accompagnement des restaurateurs, tout est figé, on ne peut joindre personne en cas de problème, ils ont la main sur votre commerce et vous n'avez aucun moyen de pression s'ils ne vous répondent pas. Vous êtes prisonniers de ces gens et votre seul recourt c'est de discuter avec un bot qui ne comprend absolument rien à ce que vous lui demandez. Poser lui 3 fois la même question, vous aurez 3 réponses totalement différentes. Parlez lui de ticket Z et vous le verrez fumer parce qu'il ne sait même pas de quoi il s'agit, amusant pour un logiciel de restauration... A fuir sans hésitation

Tout le reste est catastrophique, bots qui ne comprennent rien, ticket Z introuvable, SAV absent, logiciel inadapté à la restauration

I want to share my experience with Lightspeed POS, which has been disappointing and frustrating from the start. When I first signed up, I was assured by our sales representative that we could use our own credit card processor and that Lightspeed would only charge a monthly subscription fee of $246.66. This was a key factor in our decision to move forward with Lightspeed, as we didn’t want to be locked into additional processing fees. However, the reality was far from what was promised. After spending over $2,000 in IT fees for setup and two months of onboarding, we finally went live on \[sensitive content hidden\]. Then, on \[sensitive content hidden\], I received an unexpected invoice for an additional $930. When I contacted the billing department, I was told this was a fee for not using Lightspeed's credit card processing. I was shocked, as this had never been disclosed to me during the sales process. I immediately reached out to my sales rep, \[sensitive content hidden\], through phone calls and text messages. After several attempts to get in touch, she finally replied on Monday, stating she was sick but would call me Tuesday morning to resolve the issue. She never called. By Wednesday, I had to escalate the issue, and a manager named \[sensitive content hidden\] called me back. After explaining the situation and providing written proof of what had been promised to me, \[sensitive content hidden\] assured me that the fee would be credited back to my account and that it wouldn’t be charged again until the end of my subscription term in May. If we don’t sign up with them for credit card processing before May, they will continue to charge us $ 930 per month for not processing with them. While the issue was eventually resolved as far as crediting us the $ 930, (after significant delays and frustration), the experience left a bad taste. I’m now out over $2,000 for IT fees, paying more than $300 per month for a service that wasn’t what I was promised, and I’m now looking for a new POS system, because we do not want to process with them because of the bad reputation that they have with the credit card processing. After reading other reviews, I’ve found that I’m not alone in this situation—other customers have faced similar issues with misleading promises and unexpected fees. Ultimately, Lightspeed failed to meet the expectations set by their sales team, and I can’t trust them going forward. I would advise anyone considering this system to carefully review the full terms and make sure you're fully aware of all potential costs before committing.

Pros

What drew me to Lightspeed was that I was told by the sales representative that we did not have to use their credit card processing service and we could continue to process with our currents provider. Furthermore, that there are no contracts and can leave at any time.

Cons

Long wait time for customer support, and we were lied to by not being transparent about credit card fees for not processing with Lightspeed

I have spent hours on chat and phone support, trying to come up with a solution to an outdated machine that does not connect/stay connected. It is embarrassing to have to punch customers' cc numbers in manually because you cannot obtain a functioning credit card machine. Yesterday I waited in the phone queue for over an hour, waiting for customer support. This is unique to Lightspeed, as I rarely waited longer than a few minutes for support when Shopkeep owned the software. I have already ordered hardware for a new POS system and will be discontinuing use of Shopkeep by Lightspeed, despite having almost a full year of prepaid service remaining. For me it is not worth the stress and frustration.

Pros

I signed on in 2014 when this software was still owned by Shopkeep. It did everything that we needed it to do and support was always available. Unfortunately that is no longer the case.

Cons

Shopkeep was purchased by Lightspeed. They want all customers to switch to their credit card processing, Lightspeed Payments, eliminating competition and taking control of pricing out of the customer's hands. As a customer who chose not to switch I am given one option of an outdated credit card machine that no longer works well with the retail app. In addition, I just received an email that the cost of the service will be increasing by $40/month, making it more expensive than most retail POS subscriptions.

### "Regret ever choosing Lightspeed "

If you’re considering Lightspeed, please read this before signing up. We used Lightspeed for many years, and I can honestly say it was one of the most frustrating and disappointing vendor relationships we’ve had. I held off on sharing this publicly until after we switched POS systems, because I genuinely worried they might try to make the transition harder. And based on how they operate, that concern didn’t feel paranoid. Lightspeed made major errors on our tax forms two years in a row. We’re talking critical 1099 mistakes that could’ve caused serious issues if we hadn’t caught them ourselves. This issue, which we were told many times is so easily fixed, took 3 months to fix, causing a whole lot of stress in our business & personal lives. On top of that, their customer support was virtually nonexistent most of the time, inconsistent, slow to respond, and rarely helpful. Anytime we needed real answers, we were ghosted by not only their support team, but our actual account managers. It felt like we were stranded on issues, big and small. What’s worse, when we first signed up, they were offering $250 Amazon gift cards in exchange for positive reviews. So if you’re wondering why their ratings seem suspiciously high in some places… that might be part of it. We stayed longer than we should have because switching POS systems felt overwhelming. But making the leap was 100% worth it. Our new system is easier for staff, more transparent on the backend, and supported by a team that actually communicates and follows through. If you’re unhappy with Lightspeed, trust me, you’re not stuck. There’s better out there, and you’ll wish you switched sooner.

App interface was nice, easy to use. Reporting was okay and easy to navigate. The whole backend was simple & easy.

Cons

Customer service was virtually non existent & felt like they were intentionally trying to lose me as a customer towards the end. Slow and outdated programming. Awful account managers. 0 communication.

### "Excellent POS for a bike shop."

Pros

Lightspeed is easy to learn and very capable for our bike shop business. It allows us to track inventory and is a good point of sale.

Cons

There are a couple things that need improvements. One area is that purchase orders need to show the SKU of the items.

Horrible interactions when you're lucky enough to get a human involved - which is typically only on the sales side of the business. 3 months to get a response from the tech side (I wish I was exaggerating).

Pros

Fairly functional, but they'll make changes with no regard to how it affects your operation, putting your register & receiving department in turmoil at the worst times.

Cons

Extortion! A sudden "policy change" and now we're getting a additional $400 per month charge on top of our subscription fee until we switch to their merchant card service. \`Wonder why it's so hard to leave a review for Lightspeed? I had an issue with the POS service - it took 3 months just to get a response! Use ANY other POS service!

Easy to create promotions for certain products. Helpful that the platform can also be used for inventory management and restock levels can be set. Also good that it syncs with Shopify.

Cons

The reporting mobile app could be improved. The app sometimes glitches and is slow to update.

It is useful for setting up an ecommerce store with a POS system.

Pros

The main reason I signed up for Lightspeed Retail was so that I could keep my e-commerce website's stock properly synced up with my in-store retail stock.

Cons

Overall, it's a large service and there are a lot of configurations to be set up. I also had to get a separate plugin (from a 3rd-party) in order to fully get my POS and website to sync.

In general, it's easy for employees to figure out and use. Initial onboarding wasn't difficult, and we were up and running within a day.

Pros

It's simple to set up. With the credit payment system integrated, it avoids dealing with a third party system.

Cons

The down time when their service fails on their end. We've had transactions completely disappear after the customer already left, thus losing not an insignificant amount of money.

Overall I have spend way more time on the help desk waiting the 24-48 hours for technical support and I have had to invest more money and time into additional products I didnt expect. Overall the experience has been a mixed bag, but the latest integrations issues has left a really bad taste in my mouth.

Pros

The fact it could do the basics well. i.e. take payment of an order.

Cons

The integration issues, added costs of including so many additional applications and the delayed payment over the weekend, where lightspeed invoices did not match bank account inputs due to when the eftpos fee is attributed. This adds a lot of manual effort when reconciling.

The cost is a bit high in comparison to other retail POS systems. I may have considered an alternate provider based on the cost alone, but we wanted to get our store opened right away, and Lightspeed came very highly rated. Over and above customer service is so very important, and this alone keeps us on-line. I would recommend Lightspeed to any new user considering them.

Pros

I enjoy using Lightspeed. The features are easy to navigate, learn and train. There is a newsletter that alerts us to new features and interests. We were offered a significant start up discount for the first year, and the terminal was free. Once we set up the system, it has been clear sailing. Any time we have had a question, on-line customer service has been wonderful! We have never not had an issue unresolved. Lightspeed offers capital advances after a certain period of time, based on sales. This could be useful to help with additional expenses as they come along.

Cons

I do not love the monthly fees now that our yearly discounted rate has come to an end. That is really the only thing I dislike about the entire system. I do wish that Lightspeed would partner up with Faire, the wholesale platform we often use, to integrate the inventory and invoicing.

### "Avoid this system unless you wish to pay very high fees"

We have used Vend for many years who were recently acquired by Lightspeed. I have no words for how bad Lightspeed and their company are, and I urge anyone considering using their platform to walk away and find an alternative. They have recently demanded that all users convert to their integrated card payment system or face charges on their monthly accounts of up to £500. We were originally paying £89.99 per month for Vend, which was then increased with Lightspeed to £129.99 per month. To then be advised that if we don't use their card processing servicing, we could face charges of up to £500 per month is astounding and unethical. We were advised that one reason for this increase was due to the charges they incur for our business using other payment providers. This is utter rubbish; I myself use a static card terminal in a bricks-and-mortar shop. Lightspeed doesn't incur any processing charges, fees or inconveniences from my card terminal. After many, many emails back and forth with our account manager and following a call, he finally understood that, as a business, we were tied into a contract with our card supplier and could not move to their integrated service as they demanded. I was advised that these additional fees would not be charged as we aren't in a position to move our card processing across to their systems. However, I have been told that my fees for the platform this month, based on our transactions, are now £250! When trying to speak with someone from customer services (surprise, surprise only possible online). I am told that this is because I am not using their integrated card processing service!!! I wouldn't mind quite so much if the system had shown vast improvements or if they had introduced new fantastic facilities online. We have actually found the system to be slower than before and with many glitches with stock deduction and control. There hasn't been any improvement. I don't know how Lightspeed is able to get away with behaviour that flagrantly ignores anti-competition laws in the UK. I'm in the process of finding a company that provides an online platform and has an honest and trustworthy approach to business. Lightspeed is definitely NOT this company.

I was originally a customer with Vend and since Lightspeed purchased the company I can not see any Pros.

Cons

Too many to list, but the company ethics are poor and I am not sure how they get away with the anti-competition methods.

Overall, I have had a really negative experience with Lightspeed. Their account managers are not helpful and rarely answer. The company is focused on sales and add ons and not improving the product or ensuring the system does what retailers want / need

Pros

Lightspeed has the basics complete. Matrixes, easy sku set up and fairly intuitive POS.

Cons

The customer service is terrible. The team is constantly selling new add ons that don't work and then no one every responds. Overall, I have felt the system does not do what they say it does. For example, we were sold on a shopify integration, which is not true. We were also sold that their reporting is great. It is not only terrible, but you have to pay a lot more for any reports that give you actual information (like inventory valuations).

### "Take Your Money Elsewhere...Total Fail and Misleading Sales"

Lied to so I would purchase $500 in hardware. Then was ghosted when I cancelled and wanted to return hardware. Spent two months trying to make it functional. Finally gave up. Cancelled subscription and then could not get a call back for hardware return. Was told a lot of inaccurate information at sales, just to be told at implementation it would not do those things that were promised.

Pros

Nothing. Wasted my time and energy with false promises of functionality. Total fail. Terrible experience

Cons

Questions I asked at demo: Does it include integrations with Woo and Amazon? Told it did. It does not! Demands additional software to integrate with Woo, Amazon, and Shipstation. Where is support? Told North America. It is not. 4-6 days to get email response. Phone support has no answers, creates email chain.

### "Excellent software for growing businesses."

Overall the software is amazing and the good outweighs the bad and a tested about 10 different PoS softwares when I was shopping around and none of them encompass everything I have mentioned so i know my expectations are very high....which is why I state again...if they added in these features it would make them industry leaders and really a phenomenal PoS system. (its 90% of the way there for me...just a few more features and if would be the best)

Pros

The integration with xero accounting has been a true time saver for my business. It transfers all sales data at the end of the day seamlessly so I don't have to. The ability to use the front end off site has been super helpful as well as it doesn't tie me down to the store and I can do a lot of my work on the go. Creating products, invoicing clients, setting up the main screen custom to what I want is extremely simple once you run through it once.

Cons

Theres a few simple features that are missing from the PoS software which I would like to see integrated and would make it hands down the best in the industry for small businesses. 1) Getting an integrated payment terminal that accepts chip, pay pass and swipe options would avoid any mistakes between manually punching in the amounts on the debit/credit machine and would avoid any back end work after the day closes to be able to balance the day 2) Allowing me to enter the details of the invoices (supplier name, invoice number, total amount being paid, gst, pst, etc.) that are being paid out on a daily basis and having that information transferred to xero would alleviate tons of paper work after the close of the day. 3) There is no way to pull out a month end statement for corporate clients that pay their account once a month. Checks have to be cross referenced manually with the bills that have been put on tab. You should be able to at the very least select which tab invoices are being paid from the list of invoices on the clients account. This would show which ones are outstanding at a glance rather than having to refer back to the paper invoices that the system creates. 4) A front facing screen to display pricing of items being charged, advertisements, and other information is something I have been asking for since day 1 (3 years now). And I would love to see this feature incorporated. 5) Having the ability to offer a discount for a bulk purchase is something that should be automatic.

### "Not compatible with existing WooCommerce / Terrible Customer Service"

A true business interruption costing us significant time and money!

Pros

It was so dumbed down that anyone could use it, sadly this also makes it vulnerable to security breaches and theft

Cons

Almost everything, from being totally mislead in the sales process, squeezed into their processing, ignored and dismissed on support tickets. Terrible service overall.

Reason for choosing Lightspeed Retail

The salesman was relentless and lied to me about it's capabilities even with detail Q&A. I was mislead by their white papers and sales process only to be dropped like a hot potato and bounced from department to department with no resolution or solutions. They refuse to escalate anything to a management member.

### "Worst Business Decision"

I have no pros. I would like to take this opportunity to preface my review with the fact that I am not a negative review writer. As a business owner myself, I generally live by the golden rule of doing business and give the benefit of the doubt in most cases. I took the time to write this today because I simply want to save you from the hardship of the lessons learned by so many business owners here.

Cons

If you are considering Lightspeed for your business, please STOP HERE and do research. Allow the hundreds of negative reviews that came before mine to be your bright waving red flag. I DEFINITELY wish someone had told me to read some of these before entering an agreement with this company. Also, my lawyer would have STRONGLY advised me against entering this agreement, but unfortunately it was too late for me. Hopefully, it is NOT too late for you. I'll keep this short: 1.) Lightspeed is overpriced, 2.) Lightspeed's product is mediocre: glitchy and has limitations, 3.) Lightspeed contract terms are extremely binding, consider them unethical. 4.) Lightspeed will do nothing for you as a customer. Your concerns will be deferred from person to person all with their arms up in the air until you get tired of trying to find a reasonable resolution and you land here, at the end of your rope writing a negative review with hope that someone will learn from your mistake and stay away. I'm pretty certain if the business owner died, Lightspeed will go after their loved ones for a payout. This is not a company any business owner should do business with.

### "Lightspeed Retail Pro & Con"

Overall we like the LIghtspeed Retail product and have yet to see anything we think would do the job better.

Pros

Simple to use and it covers all the basics.

Cons

What we don't like about Lightspeed Retail are the reporting features (or lack thereof), and it's inability to project inventory. We've had Lightspeed Retail for over 8 years now, and the reporting features have changed over the years, with one of the best reports being eliminated. Much of the reporting now is sold to you as an add on, and in our case not worth the extra money.

We purchased Lightspeed over other options based on it's ease of use, ability to easily handle thousands of individual items, and overall price and integration options
