Beside the small issues, I am very happy with lightspeed, makes my job easier and they have a great customer service.

Pros

It is easy to learn and they are very good helping when help is need it. The reports are useful and make the accounting and inventory systems easy.

Cons

has a small issues like the cents do not round or the look of the sale screen for the PC is not like the one for MAC or an Ipad.

1 - The light speed system crashes a lot. 2 - I can't get into the light speed browser or what I would call back office to tweak items during sale on POS. Also, it does not save held transactions when you have to go to browser. 3 - I can not delete items you put in ever. 4 - The support is very slow and not open 24/7 so if your system is down, its down. 5 - The system seems to close down when we have a sale on hold for long periods which is needed. 6 - Be careful when putting in inventory; use all caps or all lower case because of the way stuff pops up. We would really like to be able to go back and forth freely between the Lightspeed browser and POS without shutting one or the other off. We would like held transactions to stay until deleted on the POS or lets say if i have to shut down my POS to go to light speed browser to fix something we need, it should save held transactions so I can go straight back to my sale and not have to redo it all again.

Overall, I've had a good experience with Lightspeed. I like that they have a variety of reports and that it's easy to use. The interface itself could use a few updates, but overall it works well!

Pros

There are many different reports that you can pull, which is important and much appreciated as a bookkeeper.

Cons

Although it's easy to navigate around the program, I feel like they could use a bit of a facelift. There could definitely be some updates.

took 2 months to replace the "lightspeed server" that was a lemon. Went down every few days, but they wanted "sufficient documentation" that it was bad. Seriously!!!!!! just fix it after the 3, 4, or 5th time......

Pros

has some nice features, but terrible customer service.....

Cons

Customer service. To many levels of people to go through to get something taken care of and no one can make a decision. They give excuses why, but don't ever get to the point. They need to diminsh the levels of management to go through to get anything accomplished or at the least better communication between the levels.

Fairly simple to setup and use compared with other systems we've tried.

Cons

Impossible to customize much to your needs. We've requested right from the start a feature addition to allow for fractions of cents in inventory with no traction yet. Other customizations would be helpful, too.

Pros

Lightspeed started with a brilliant value proposition: a Point of Sale system that integrates with well-known web store solutions (e.g.-Magento), allowing small retail to go online with an integrated platform.

Cons

Unfortunately, the software doesn't work the way we want. We've had a support ticket open for five weeks on data corruption that renders our webstore completely unusable. On top of this, they changed pricing after we purchased it, now requiring a constant support contract or forcing us into a much more expensive subscription model.

We vetted many POS companies before choosing this one. We have been a client since November; and, I must say that I am very please with the on-boarding process, the response time of customer service and the ease of use of the POS system. The system is very user friendly and easy to learn. To date, I am very pleased with my selection and look forward to continuing the partnership with Lightspeed.

Pros

We found this software very easy to use and set-up. It is easy to train the staff and has many functions that will make it easy to track sales, employees time and e-commerce results.

Cons

I do not have any drawbacks at the moment

Pros

This software can be powerful with integrated tools and functions customizable for each individual use. It can be customized to have a very neat layout.

Cons

Lightspeed POS is very slow at time and crashes very often. This needs to be fixed as it is a hassle.

Lightspeed is a great product, very easy to use and the customer service is excellent.

Pros

The customer service is probably my favorite feature of Lightspeed, not only the live chats with techs, but the videos are great. After 5 years of using Lightspeed I'm still finding new and improved features to help make my life easier.

Cons

Lightspeed is a little on the pricey side, about 3 times a year we need an extra register because we run a remote location, the cost for the use of an extra register is not worth the time and effort to do stuff by hand.

We opened our brick and mortar bicycle retail and service shop July this year. We started with Vend POS, but that was not well suited for our labor-heavy business model. Shortly thereafter we transitioned to Lightspeed, and could not be more pleased. Nearly all our vendor catalogs are already in Lightspeed, so receiving inventory is easy. Further, Lightspeed's item types simplify selling bulk items, tracking serial numbers, etc. Most of all, we appreciate the ease with which we can now log customers, their bicycle information, and the services we perform for them, all in tandem with each other. I would highly recommend Lightspeed to anyone operating a bicycle shop!

I have always found that support is extremely helpful and will even call back to follow up. When their is a Canada wide issue the wait times are longer but it is very unusual for me to wait any longer then 5 minutes.

Pros

The ease of updating information is extremely nice for our restaurant. When it is busy the kitchen does not get clogged up because our servers can print the orders before moving on to the next table.

Cons

We only have a couple of cons: first that the developer has yet to enable two colour printing on the kitchen bills. Second any power surge I need to update the IP address on both printers.

Great program when it works. I wish it worked as they said it would because it would be the best program.

Cons

They are too cheap to pay for enough server farms to run the amount of customers they have to be prepared for hours of blackouts every month several times a month. Constant amount of lost sales. I HATE this company.

Pros

I found Lightspeed's system to be way more intuitive than other POS systems I have used in the past. This was really important to me as a business owner, because we are going to have to train employees as well. The hours saved with Lightspeed's interface will help pay for itself. Because it is cloud-based, I can easily log in from home or while away when important things come up.

Cons

I can't attach a picture to a customer record. I would also like the ability to include a special order information on a purchase order so I can send this directly to a vendor. Also, better reporting for special orders as we do lots of them. I want to see the money I have coming in in the future, not just closed orders.

Pros

The software was easy to set up and is intuitive to use. From handling basic transactions to reporting, inventory management, and even building our web store, LightSpeed has made every step efficient and effective. Every person we've dealt with from our initial research phase through implementation has been knowledgeable and helpful. We definitely made the right decision.

Cons

Honestly, the only thing I don't like is that I always have to hit Search after selecting dates for a report (for example) or finding an item in inventory when searching by category. And the search button is not located near where the search field is, so I always forget to look over to the right and hit it. But that's about it.

We opened a small retail store and in the first 3 months went through 2 other POS systems. We had not chosen Lightspeed initially because of poor reviews. However, after using two other systems which couldn't do half of what we needed, Lightspeed was a delightful surprise. We haven't had any of the problems we had heard about and have consistently had good service and results with the program.

Pros

Flexible, robust. Has ability to do layaway, discounts, full item descriptors.

Cons

Some features must be done in the back office. Layaway can be a little complicated to complete from the sales register.

it needs a little more details in Invoices so that the paper invoice number could be used as well. Needs maybe more retail companies sharing there suppliers information.
