We operate multiple locations and an online store. The largest benefit we saw LightSpeed offered was their integration with the various website designs. I also found the customer service to be superior to all the other offerings on the market. Furniture Used the software for: ### "Lifesaver Tool for our Retail Store!" December 19, 2014 5.0 Pros Lightspeed is created for the modern user, a user used to smartphones, the cloud, and speed. There is nothing old school about this produc. It is entirely "new school" and has all bases covered when it comes to what any modern retailer needs for a POS and Inventory Management system. We find it so intuitive to use and the interface is easy on the eyes and easy on the mind. We got up and running on it with almost zero training, because it was that easy to figure out. The returns are difficult and complicated. It is difficult to find the specific item you are looking for and inventory shrinkage is a result of lack of organization within the system. Pros Able to make purchases and count the register, keep employee time, can add inventory and restock inventory. Pros It has great documentation on how-to-do each part of the website. The customer support staff are very friendly and helpful to the customers. I have chosen to set up the site myself so it has taken a little longer than I previously thought it would. However the support staff has been so helpful. Pros Absolutely nothing. Everything is still in boxes. I have never. Customer service and education department are not consistent. Cons Received my terminal ~6 months after purchasing. Misinformation by educators led to all the inventory having to be rescanned. Did not even use the product. We are knitters who opened a yarn store February 1st of this year. No one would call us computer savvy but LightSpeed 3.4.5 has made us look very professional and current with the technology of the non-knitting world. This system is the heart of our business. We use it to track all of our pending orders from vendors, control and evaluate our inventory, track customer spending, adjust pricing with just a few clicks of our mouse, monitor our taxes and so much more! Used the software for: ### "" October 15, 2012 4.0 LightSpeed is a good system for a medium sized business like ours. We sell bikes to retailers and wholesalers in a 10,000 square foot retail space. Like any software, LightSpeed isn't perfect. It lacks some power on reporting and there are a few workflows that we've had to custom work to the system to work appropriately. We really lean on the inventory control in LightSpeed, we don't love some of the ways that are needed to perform simple things like, for example, department based promos. LightSpeed is a heck of lot easier to learn and train upon than what I used before and the staff really like using the software. We use it on the run/tri side of the store for POS and inventory, and on the cycle side of the store for inventory only. It is easy to track items, sales and do reports, etc. The support team was extremely helpful when I converted from an older POS system. They took my customer information and inventory and inputted it into my new system within a few weeks. We wanted to manage the online store appearance as well. It was crucial to have the database be absolutely the same in the online store and physical store. We could not use an API, which provided a synch, but we wanted inventory to be accurate up to the minute. Cons The software and hardware are powerful, and thus, there is a lot to learn. Since it is cloud-based, I do not have to worry about losing my data. Pros Lightspeed is easy to set up and use. Navigating through the software was easy, and the LightSpeed tech support is always quick to respond and walk us through any questions while setting up our system. There are plenty of advanced tools to give you many options when setting up, which gives you a more advanced platform to grow your business. Cons No complaints at all.
