We love lightspeed. It does everything we need- it tracks our inventory, submits purchase orders, is compatible with QuickBooks, etc. It is the only program that we use for our retail shop and we have no complaints!

Pros

It is an all in one system. I meet with vendors and they are amazed at how I can enter a product number and it pulls up everything you need to know about that product.

Cons

Nothing.

The Lightspeed Software handles our sales, inventory and ecommerce and the customer service has always been wonderful.

Pros

Customer service rep was extremely professional and friendly. She took care of the issue quickly and correctly. Your customer support has always been above par. Thank you!!

Cons

Sometimes we have to "work around" a product question, as we are not the typical retail store, when you have over 360 colors of one item.

Pros

They have the best customer service people I have ever had to work with and the ability to contact them whenever I need it and using multiple formats!

Cons

Absolutely no training! They will take very good care of you when you have a question/problem, but you have to ask first. The online Help support information is Ok, but scattered around and mostly geared to the very basics.

I have been using light speed for about 6 months when i opened a clothing store in our current mall, it has been a BREEZE i have never used a product that runs so smoothly and has so many functions! (literally anything you can think of it already has) Light speed is an amazing program and I will continue to use it in my business, I do however wish it was a little bit cheaper but it is worth every penny and helps my business succeed!

Pros

LightSpeed POS is wonderful ecommerce software that connects your retail and website easily to manage inventory, customers info, orders, shipping info, sales reports etc. LightSpeed for iPhone made everything handy. Even today I heard that it introduced POS for restaurants, coffee shops and bars. How business friendly POS Software it is. I appreciate it.

Cons

It fetches data between systems more easily. The LightSpeed-QuickBooks Integration is what i like most. It helped in business accounting automation really very easy.

The sales team was really strong and sold us on this product. The support team since is hard to get a hold of and lacks answers. The online help system only works intermittently.

Pros

It is easy to use when ringing in sales.

Cons

The reports are not comprehensive enough. We've run into problems selling gift cards, tracking inventory, uploading inventory and printing labels.

Pros

It was exactly what we needed to take our company to the next level! The customer support is the most amazing I have ever had for any service!

Cons

There is a lot of features to Lightspeed POS and eCom, with that being said it does take some time to figure everything out!

Great experience with the on boarding and post purchase to get all the benefits from the system.

Pros

User friendly system with great reporting options. Set up was simple and as the business grows it is simple to add additional information to the inventory for ease of report writing.

Cons

Phone app is weak as it does not allow for may of the report options.

Pros

I'm a new customer, so I'm mostly reviewing the sales process. I felt that the people at Lightspeed answered all my questions and I chose the solution based on comparisons with quite a few other products. Lightspeed Retail was one of the very few that offered a seamless platform for POS and ecommerce, which was a big requirement for me. Some other products could do that, but their interfaces were very clunky. Lightspeed Retail is easy to navigate and has a lot of features that I was looking for: gift cards, matrixed products, importable catalogs, purchase order receiving, and much more.

Cons

I'm a little concerned about the downtime that other reviews mention, but so far have not experienced that.

Pros

Very easy to use and customer support went out of their way to solve a problem with my price tags.

Cons

Certain Items I would like to enter things like a picture only once. For example in a matrix of rings same style but size 5-10 I have to load the picture into each ring size. I can't just put it in the original matrix and it will auto load in each size.

USing Lightspeed Retail allows us to properly monitor our inventory in stores and in warehouse. With this, we could properly analyze them. We could also see sales data which is very important in our analyses.

Cons

So far I do not have negative feedback with Lightspeed Retail ...Very helpful software...

Love that this is a cloud based program so i can access whenever and wherever, and ive also had my manager access as well.

Cons

I wish it had better report process. I find some reports are not as detailed or are excel based which i dont care for. And i wish it was Simply Accounting integrated

Pros

Lots of options, simple and easy cloud-based set up. Inexpensive solution for a single store that utilizes a lot of UPCs.

Cons

Not as portable as Square. I liked that with Square you could have as many 'registers' as you wanted connected to a single account, and that they could travel anywhere (we do a lot of 'trunk shows' and Pop Up Shops)

We absolutely love the cloud-based version because it makes it so much easier to access and secure. We know that the reports will be there when we need them.

Cons

It took a little bit more time for some of our team to switch over in their training but overall I have absolutely no issues with this.

We started using Lightspeed in May 2016 after a lengthy review of several POS software options. We couldn't be happier with our decision, the lightspeed support team is fantastic. We switched from Counterpoint POS which we used for 10 years.

Pros

Very user friendly software and great customer support.

Cons

A few small glitches with special orders.

The user interface is fairly easy to use. Training new employees how to use the system was easy.

Cons

Some of the concepts get complicated - my staff still has a hard time wrapping their heads around how monies work for Special Orders. The canned reports need more information in them - I'm missing some critical pieces of data.

I love how it has a lot of features and everything is pretty much possible to do but you just need to take time to listen to the training.

It is not really that easy to use or figure things out because of extreme amount of features maybe but, can work more on making it user friendly.

Pros

Up to the minute accuracy on POS when any information in the backend is changed. I like the professional layout of the iPad Cash Register, the ease of use for casual staff, and the ease of exporting information into QuickBooks.

Cons

I don't like that a sale is automatically started when you log in. If you don't make that sale and the iPad goes to sleep, the sale remains open, and a new one opens up when you log in again. It means that many transactions of $0.00 are left open.

Great product so far. Definitely has some bugs that need to be figured out. Pretty intuitive but not as much as I had hoped for. Wist the screen was touch sensitive. It is a must to have the knowledge of how a MAC works. I didn't know and the learning curve in addition to learning how the software works is steep. Some of the scanners didn't work at first by our support guys Evan Brubaker is an absolute rock star and has been so valuable to me. And he is just a nice man all around, and always available. morning noon and night, weekends and all. Overall, satisfied and would highly recommend this system!

Pros

I tried this system and ended up wasting lots of time trying to make this work. It was easy to understand but it was also tedious and lacks some key features. I ended up going with another pos since this one was just not working out for us. The customer support was ok but in the end, it was the features that kept me from choosing this system.

Cons

This POS was slow to update and tedious to maintain stock. I found the tax table to be challenging and worried about overselling.

Integrated inventory, ability to have access to numerous reports, able to see cost of items (I was not able to with Shopify), and easy to use.

Cons

It's pricy, but in my experience it is worth it to pay more. Lightspeed has made my life easier, so it's worth it to pay a bit more.

Lightspeed is easy to use and has wonderful customer support! Every time I have call for support, they helped solve the problem.

Cons

There is only one label printer that is available to use with Lightspeed and there is no way to import customers from a previous system.
