It is very comprehensive and made managing the properties and tenants a piece of cake. From the marketing of the properties, to the screening of the tenants, to the tenant portal our life has been made easier though its use and we haven't even scratched the surface yet. Great customer service and reasonably priced add on services have rounded out the benefits of this product for our business. Highly recommended. Pros Very comprehensive product with a lot to use. But our favorites so far are summary screen with a list of to dos, marketing screens, tenant portal - especially the work orders, EasyPay ACH. Basics of the product are very easy to use. Cons Very comprehensive product with a lot to use. Some times finding features can be a little tricky. I have run into several just by exploring. They always pick up When I call quickly or call me back right away. When I've called or emailed I always get somebody who knows what they are doing and they answer my questions quickly. The software is very easy to use and it has helped me manage all of my properties. When I do have a question I just call and they show me how to do it. Pros Strong accounting software, ideal for landlords like me. Amazing customer support. Tenant screening is very good in the system. It would be particularly good for non-financial folks. It even has pop-up windows that warn you if you are doing something that can affect other parts of the accounting by mistake. My only gripe is that it does not have a robust general ledger for a full business accounting. I had to create a property and put all the expenses and other revenue there. They can be found but it would be nice to have it as a separate but integrated part of the software. Pros Easy to use and setup. Cons No general ledger for other business activities. The accounting functions took only a couple days to completely learn and replace our old system. Meanwhile, when we did have a question their customer support was always very helpful both by phone and email whenever we had a question. I have reviewed several, and they seem so complex to operate for someone like me without the time to actually take hours and hours to learn. Though the background check leaves a bit to be desired. I ran a friend through who had a record and bad credit. It clearly stated the bad credit but no criminal record came up. My friend had a name change so I guess it didn't run that, but I thought the social might pull it up. Pros Well organized and allows online pay and reporting. Lots of tutorial videos and easy to understand instructions. The tenant pay is convent as well. Cons Criminal check doesn't work 100% but everything else seems to function very well. October 11, 2016 5.0 I have been using RentecDirect for about 5 years to manage a small portfolio of investor owned single family homes. I primarily use the software to manage each Owner's ledger, print monthly statements and 1099's at year end. It does all of this without a hitch and I know I am only scratching the surface of it's capapbility. Pros Very easy to setup and use but even better the few times I have had a problem the support staff is amazing and there are no language barriers. Cons There are no "cons" so far as I am concerned. Cons The owner statements are not as detailed, no dates on the simple report.
