### "Ease of use with one administrator "

Easy to have all employees seeing schedule at the same time and not having to contact th each individually with a shift.

Pros

was excellent to use when only one person was working on the administration and input, employees received notification of shifts and could easily swap shifts if needed ti fit their life.

Cons

When more then one person was working on input it was more difficult to keep things organized, some things seemed to update for one administrator but not the other. On one occasion staff didn't receive notification of scheduled shifts.

### "The Best Scheduling Tool On The Market"

In my restaurant this helps us servers to communicate about who is going to be working at what times. For example if I was sick and wasn't able to work a morning shift, I would put it in the group chat and know that someone could take my shift!

Pros

I enjoy being able to see a detailed, easy to read schedule through an app on my phone. It is insanely easy to use the app. It also gives you access to different group chats within the company, and to have the ability to swap shifts and communicate with co-workers which I love.

Cons

To me, this software was life-changing. The one thing I like least is that the business that I work for while I'm on campus doesn't use it, making it harder to read their schedule.

### "An absolute must for any business!"

Pros

is the easiest program I've ever used for scheduling. There are so many functions to this program that you can't go wrong. You can send texts, emails, and other various alerts to tell people what their shifts are and any updates or comments that go with it.

Cons

There is nothing I don't like about this program. It is so amazing! But if I have to be real picky about it I would say that it could add a copy and paste functionality to it for copying work schedules.

Overall, it serves its purpose of notifying about unavailability and scheduling shifts.

Pros

I like that it is very transparent -- both me and the rest of my team can see when employees have marked unavailability and when we are scheduled to work. The chat function makes it easy to communicate as well. I can choose what types of notifications I receive, and there is a mobile application for my phone.

Cons

I wish there was a function to clock-in and clock-out. That is definitely something that is missing! Also, there are often flaws when I try to drop one of my shifts, my manager cannot pick it up for me without having an administrator override the program since we have different job titles. This creates extra work for administrators.

### "When I Work was a game changer for our scheduling needs"

Pros

This is a very user friendly software. We are able to quickly create, edit, and distribute schedules to our large staff. We love that the staff can quickly submit time off requests, send us messages about their schedules, and even drop/swap shifts if necessary, within moments of the schedule being published.

Cons

is a very proactive company, and they make software updates often. The only bad thing about this is that it can some time for us to adjust to changes that are made, and occasionally there are small glitches. But overall, I would say I am more satisfied that they are proactive in expanding what the software can do, than I am disappointed in these occasional issues.

### "Great software, just needs THIS"

Very good, I have a team made up of mainly elderly for our ushers and FOH team and they had their struggles but it was much easier to implement than I think any other one would've been for us.

Pros

I like the ease of scheduling and the quick real-time features so we can send updates ASAP.

Cons

I do not like -having to "Save Template" for scheduling someone when the shift repeats for certain employees often. Wish I could schedule a weekly/reoccuring shift at once. -I REALLY wish I could see the schedule all at once, meaning all schedules/shifts for one exact day or week. The export feature of this seems outdated and clunky to me - I would like to select up to 3 schedules at once and have them print as an all-inclusive schedule since we have things happening for Stage, Back of House, Food&Bev and FOH.

Reason for choosing When I Work

Customer Service, I believe \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] was the rep I spoke to who talked me through it and he was so very helpful and informative.

It's a good software they need more features and it would be one of the top ones out there to use and to have.

### "Student scheduling"

Even though was had a few issues over all the response to the software was very positive.

Pros

Mobile integration and notifications were awesome. The team loved how they could easily look up their schedule and sync it with their calendar.

Cons

It was a little tricky to ensure the user was viewing the correct day on their mobile app. We had some missed shifts because of confusion

it has helped make sending out the schedule easier, as well has helped keep track of previous schedules. it has also made our timesheets easier being all on a phone or a computer. all in all its pretty good, but I do wish it ran a little smother, and did not have so many glitches.

Pros

it helps put the schedule and timesheets all in one software, it will send out the schedule to all of the employees with one click, it can be used from a phone

Cons

It seems to have a fair amount of glitches, I have had it delete full schedules, autocorrect times to something completely different, and it jumble around shifts. I also think it is pretty pricey per employee on it.

### "Makes Scheduling for a Small Team Very Easy"

After using a clunky Google Calendar solution for scheduling a retail staff that has grown from 4 to 9/10/11, this app is a godsend. My employees like being able to access their calendar on their phones. Being able to sketch out a tentative schedule before "publishing" it to your staff is very helpful. I make use of the color-coding options to easily note when shifts are beyond their normal scope. I'm not currently using the time-card/payroll options, but I intend to take it for a spin for the free month in 2019.

Pros

Easy to Learn/Intuitive Can set restrictions for availability Can see peak labor times Easily find shifts that need coverage App is great for employee communication

Cons

Our company hovers at the over/under 10 employee level, making it difficult to find the right payment plan for us

### "It (Barely) Gets the Job Done "

It helps everyone be coexistent with each other and know how to prep for their day. It's a decent app, I just wish they focused less on the fun side of things where you create your own emojis or bitmojis, and they'd focus on more direct communication and direct messaging. I think the worst thing for me is that the notifications always seem to be off; they don't ever want to work for me or a few other people for that matter. And that can be very very dangerous in a job that you no call no show on.

Pros

I like the idea that I can know with whom I'm going to be working that day. I am glad for the 2 hrs before shift reminder that I've been scheduled. (see below) Other than that, it lags out on my end.

Cons

No direct communication. I cannot call managers from it nor will they seem to answer me via email if I can get linked to the damn email system.

### "Great employee tracking of PTO and other alerts "

I am have been able to cut my paper usage and the potential mistakes of forgetting emails or losing the PTO paperwork. Any PTO requests or vacation requests are easily managed.

Pros

Has been helpful from PTO tracking and changing shifts for different locations of our medical practice.

Cons

If I approve a PTO request and was either a mistake or needs to be changed I have to cancel it and request again. Small bug in my opinion.

### "Great Scheduling Software/Application "

I selected this app a few years ago due to it offering a 30 day free trial and being free to employees should I continue service (also no contracts with choice of low monthly or annual payments). I was impressed with the user-friendly interface and quick customer service responses that were understandable and thorough. I went from an impossible paper schedule that usually became outdated once printed/posted to a system that significantly reduced confusion and really enhanced trackable accountability.

Pros

User-friendly, time saver, reduce confusion, increased accountable, free trial, no commitments, excellent customer service

Cons

In the app (used mostly by staff), shift notes go unnoticed/unread due to no indication a shift has a note. The computer version shows a bubble indicating a note, but the staff rarely or never accesses computer version. .

### "When I Work is good, but tempermental"

It's not bad, not earth shaking good. But it doesn't really crash -- except I did notice that if I failed to clock in on the app and then my time is adjusted by the team that does attendance -- later on in the same day it's hard to log out for lunch, etc. Sometimes it makes the whole process buggy.

Pros

It's easy to use to clock in, etc I like that the app gives you a warning when your lunch break is over, etc

Cons

Sometimes the app doesn't respond. Many times I have clocked in or out only to find out that the app didn't record the information

Pros

My office used for about a year, we have since transitioned to another software, but we still use when i work for scheduling (im not sure why) but I greatly prefer when i work, it is very easy to use, clocking in and out is a breeze. The scheduling is very easy to see and use and requesting time off is very easy.

Cons

This software would glitch somewhat frequently but it was nothing major, most of the time it just took a few extra seconds to clock in / out. But overall I really liked using this software as an all in one.

### "My experience is as a user - not a big fan"

It was easy to find replacements on the schedule, and for that, I liked . It takes away that awkward call to your manager asking for help in finding someone to cover your shift.It also elminates the "Oh I didn't get your call" from other staff members when you are trying to get a shift covered.

Pros

It was nice to be able to get notified when schedules for work were up. I feel like this enabled our staff to know more in advance what the next two weeks looked like. Each staff members qualifications to cover certain shifts was helpful too.

Cons

As a staff member who used it for schedule notification - I didn't have much problem using it.

### "Always be there and never square!"

holds my staff accountable, there can no longer be an excuse for not being aware of scheduling when the schedule is right in the hands of all of my staff!

Pros

When I used this app to maintain the schedule of a mobile food unit I used to manage, my team and I always knew where we were supposed to be and when! Since our restaurant was on wheels, having a mobile application complete with all the info we needed to get the job done was invaluable. made it easy for us to please our clients and ensure that we weren’t losing out on revenue being put towards additional labor to accommodate potential hiccups. We stopped scheduling early arrivals once When I Work proved in worth by seamlessly providing ALL the information my staff needed to get the job done, on time.

Cons

Occasionally I have come across bugs that prevented push notifications coming through to inform users of time or location changes for work orders. I believe all of those wrinkles have been ironed out.

### "Great software for my small business"

All of my employees are part time (we are only open on the weekends) and I need to be sure every position is covered on every shift. allows me to label and color code the different positions so I can see at a glance that everything is filled, or not. I love that employees can enter or request their time off, so I don't have to try to remember.

Pros

This software is intuitive and does everything I need it to do and more. My staff likes it as well. You can decide whether your staff can clock in on their mobile device, or if they can only clock in from one device at work. Staff can request time off, switch shifts, and enter their preferred hours. I can export payroll easily.

Cons

It took a bit of time to figure out how to export the right way, but that was probably more my problem than the software's!

### "Incredible Customer Service"

I love it! It's been a game changer for a small company with continued growth. As our number of employees increased so did the challenges of managing a schedule in-house exclusively.

Pros

The customer service and support has been fantastic. Everyone from intial setup and launch to billing. It honestly has been remarkable. I love the flexibility of both desktop and app utilization both for the person creating the schedules and the users.

Cons

Due to how we schedule, it took some creative problem solving to customize it to our needs, but customer support was there to help. I would like to see an easy way to print the schedule for the department. We export it to excel and make some modifications to make it work for us.

### "Too many error situation"

When it works its great but many times it has nuances, show error, no internet connection even though there is.

Pros

When it works it works, but that's not always the case.

Cons

If no internet connection the app has error issues. I had to cancel and re download the app numerous time. It doesn't let reset the password.
