Pros

Wonderful scheduling and attendance platform. Savss so much time. paper and money doing it all online. Easy to use and easy to monitor attendance and trends. So happy we switched to When I Work!

I don't really have any negative comments about it!

Pros

API is nice. Using it mostly as a database to integrate into our primary application. The UI is okay.

Cons

The scalability seems somewhat limited, but I also work at a small company so we don't need that much anyways.

Cons

Live reports for pay are hard to pull, I would like to have live reports.

While the app is good, the interface can be a bit clunky and unintuitive at times. The time-tracking feature works, but it’s not always seamless, and some users report issues with syncing hours accurately. Additionally, notifications can sometimes be delayed, leading to confusion about shift changes.

Pros

Easy to download, and simple icon for home screen. The app also features built-in time clock functionality, making it easy to track work hours.

Cons

It had several glitches that significantly impacted its usability. The Calendar feature could definitely benefit from some improvement.

The ease of creating a work flow schedule, and the ability to communicate with staff in a group message.

Cons

it has a lot of features and takes a little bit of time to learn it. It’s not easy to adjust someone’s hours if they clock out late, etc..

### "When I Work is Easy to Use and isn't packed with bloatware"

When I Work has been great, the UI is easy on the eyes and everything feels intuitive and up to date, and doesn't feel bogged down with a ton of stuff that isn't needed for scheduling purposes like you will find in most of the legacy scheduling softwares.

Pros

The best part about using When I Work is that people can drop, pickup and reschedule their own shifts. If two people want to swap it's easy for them to do it themselves without having a manager intervene.

Cons

The part I like least about When I Work is the inability to save my filters or views. We have multiple retail locations and employees switch back and forth between locations so it is nice to be able to open When I Work and be shown the schedules for all locations right away, instead, every time I open the webpage it defaults to only showing me the people that are at the same physical location as myself and I have to go in and manually select the other locations for it to show up. It is at most a minor annoyance and not a deal breaker.

Good, integrates well into ADP for payroll. I like that you pay for seat, but I wish it wasn't in groups of 5 and was per individual.

Pros

Scheduling section is very easy to use and has several ways to view.

Cons

I always wish it cost less for all of these things.

Tracking hrs by employee and totals and the ability to send reports.

I would like to see the break as an option to turn off if not needed for our business.

My overall experience has been very positive. The staff are super friendly and helpful when I have questions.

Pros

What I like most is t he different stat collection the program offers.

Cons

A couple things that I wish the program could do is bid a partial shift on the app, it does not do that. You can only pick up what shift hours are out there being offered.

### "Not a great solution for me"

Pros

When I Work seemed like it was going to be a great solution for our team to publish schedules and have employees in control of swapping shifts - but it did not end up working for our business in the way we would have hoped. Our itme using the platform was short lived after realizing it was not going to fit the needs of our team.

Cons

We were not easily able to get the platform set up in a way that would work for our team. In the end, we did not move forward with using When-I-Work long-term.

It's nice to have a digital schedule, but there is a lot of room for improvement and ease of use of the actually scheduling.

Pros

Being able to notify employees electronically is convenient.

Cons

The actual scheduling can be glitchy and slow. If it responded instantly when trying to drag schedules it would be better. It would work much better if you could copy and paste schedules from one employee to the other instead of having to do each one individually.

Its super easy to move people around when needed.

I wish we had a dashboard so we could see all the setting. Also i would like to be able to block employee off for half days when needed or call off notes.

I'm happy that 'When I Work' wraps schedule and time keeping into one for a seamless experience. However online ticketing and live chat, and no phone support make it hard to address issues quickly as tickets take time

Pros

I really like the employee scheduling tools, easy to create employee schedules, with templates or past weeks, taking into account time off and availability requests. Also shift swapping on the mobile device give flexibility to the team

Cons

I wish proving was per location instead of per employee. If you have a small location its in your favor, but works against you if you have a large headcount.
