Docusign Overview:

### Key takeaways

Insights from verified Capterra reviews

Docusign helps small businesses streamline digital agreements, especially in real estate, healthcare, and IT services. Its key benefit is fast, legally binding signatures with guided signing and multi-party workflows. While pricing is lower than average, envelope limits and support issues are common drawbacks. Advanced tools like Maestro and AI-assisted review help automate contracts and ensure legal compliance.

### Our verdict

Docusign is a dependable option for SMBs managing frequent agreements, offering automation and legal safeguards to support business growth. While envelope limits and tracking challenges may require workarounds, its AI-assisted review and workflow tools help offset manual effort and improve consistency.

Overall, DocuSign is a great product for ensuring compliance, and audit trails while also simplifying processes internally and for clients. Allowing our clients to sign documents from where-ever they are as increased the speed of the workflow as well as client satisfaction.

Pros

DocuSign is the industry standard for e-signatures which is why we choose to use this product. Many of our team members and clients were already familiar with the product which made the ease of integrating it into our workflow relatively seamless. Furthermore, the security and compliance was important when researching products. DocuSign provides encryption and most importantly to us, audit trails.

Cons

As an admin, there was a learning curve during set up. Templates and workflows can be difficult to set up at first, however once set up, they are simple to replicate. Unfortunately, there can be issues and bugs which often times can be traced back to how the client is trying to open/e-sign but it can be difficult to explain virtually.

The switch was made because DocuSign is ultimately the most well known and well understood product on the market.

Reasons for choosing Docusign

We considered using Adobe Sign however deployment was much more difficult than DocuSign and is not as widely recognized.

I like Docusign and can see how it is very useful for customizing documents so they are presented exactly as we like, it can be time consuming to learn all the features.

Pros

After spending some time getting to grips with it I find the functionality so much better now and feel it is a useful tool to have.

Cons

I still feel it is overly complicated but some of the issues I have I feel are user error and not the fault of the software

Reasons for choosing Docusign

I thought it would be a more premium experience but I actually prefer the ease and cost of waiverforever and have gone back to them.

Overall, my experience with DocuSign has been excellent. It makes signing and managing documents fast, secure, and hassle-free. While it can be a bit pricey for occasional use, the convenience and reliability more than make up for it.

Pros

What I liked most about DocuSign is how fast and convenient it makes signing and sending documents. The platform is user-friendly, secure, and eliminates the need for printing or scanning, which saves a lot of time.

Cons

The only downside of DocuSign is the advanced features may seem a little complex if you only need simple document signing.

Overall, it is a very strong product and what I consider to be the strongest product in the industry in its class.

Pros

Docusign is our go-to signing platform for digital, audit-ready signings. It is clean, reliable, and well-known.

Cons

I don't have major gripes with it. Possibly I would like to be more easily able to input an alias for an individual signer and/or have two saved email addresses under each saved contact name.

Pros

It’s easy to use, even for non-tech savvy people. Signing a document is just a few clicks away. No physical paperwork.

Cons

I feel like it’s a little expensive for small businesses. Features are locked behind a more expensive subscription.

Overall, I really enjoy using DocuSign. It has become an import tool for our company to share private documents and is easy to use.

Pros

What I enjoy the most about Docusign is how secure it keeps all of your Documents. At the same time, it is easy to share with and collaborate on it with other individuals involved.

Cons

DocuSign is more on the pricier side, so when we are in need to collaborate with external companies, there is a change they may not have access to DocuSign.

Overall, I am very pleased with the program. The staff have been flexible with us when we've asked for accommodations and assistance.

Pros

Docusign is a phenomenal platform. I'm always surprised at how easy it is to send documents to our clients, ensure documents are correct prior to signing and manage my workflow effectively.

Cons

I don't have many negatives to mention. At times Docusign invitations get buried in client's inboxes so they can't be found, but that's more of a client issue than an issue for Docusign.
