As soon as I saw what the software was capable of I knew that our Agency could benefit from it for so many reasons. I could name all the things that it does for us but better yet, just go to their site and look for the 2-4 minute video tutorials that are available, watch them, then share it with the decision makers at your agency/place of business. You will see for yourself all the benefits for document storage, tracking systems, distribution of information, workflows, training, surveys, audit collection and much more. I am so excited that after years of pursuing this software our Agency is finally using it! We have been extremely impressed with the Customer Support that is offered. Individuals are always available to assist you with questions you have and provide you will solutions. Pros The overall functionality! Cons I would like the option to have more "roles" in a particular assessment from a specific accrediting body, however, this more specific to the accrediting body vs. the software. Need more flexibility" September 11, 2017 4.0 Electronic files are most beneficial to the agency; not only do we save paper we it also reduces the need for additional file cabinet Pros Like the ease of use.....like how files can be easily uploaded. It is also good that the system is always being updated to make it more user-friendly.... Cons Want to see more flexibility within the system such as copying proofs from one standard to another...also remove the default where the top boxed is checked. I like that people can go in and see the documents that they have and sign for their stuff to show proof. They did look at a document. Cons When I go to signature and print off who sign their documents a lot of times it doesn't show that person sign for their stuff, but if I go in that person name it will show they have sign for their documents. And also review and update old material. I put out continued education worksheets, policy updates, and a host of other items. Also use this for when I need to attach test to new material to trainees. It will change the whole way a company or organization processes and handles policies. The customer support is fantastic as well! Highly recommended. Pros Streamlines policy management, training, and reduces the need for paper. I also really like that it is a tracking database for archived and current policies. My favorite feature might be the side-by-side comparisons of former and current policies, it is VERY handy. Cons Though the search bar continues to develop, if anything, that has been a tool that at times I have struggled to properly utilize. Review Source EP Ed P. It allows for accountability and quick reference for field personnel. We also use the training module to push important training out to the officers. It saves time and money. The ability to have all of our important documents and training available for access anytime anywhere is invaluable. Thank you Power DMS! Pros Easy to use. I love the features of being able to upload training material and assigning it to employees. I can keep up with all of their certificates and their due dates. Not to mention the document storage. The paperless options is great. This program is a must buy for your agency. Dispatcher Law Enforcement Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Great Software" November 13, 2019 5.0 In our department we keep our policies up to date so that everyone is aware of what is expected and what changes have been made from previous years. I enjoy using it because it gives you the option to be able to go back and view previously signed and submitted documents, allows you to stay up to date with any update and notifies you when an item needs attention. I also enjoy the fact that a mobile version is available when you are on the go. Pros The ability to sign and read updates to policies and documents kept up to date by the department. The ability to be able to go back and see the documents at any time. Being able to see updated documents and compare them to older versions to see what has specifically changed without having to read through the whole documents over again. Getting notifications when items are about to expire to be able to log in and reread edits and sign them before the expiration date. Cons There are not any problems with the software in my opinion. September 13, 2016 5.0 I used PowerDMS to accomplish my state of Florida accreditation as well as the national accreditation with American Correctional Association, without the ease of the program I fully believe this task would have taken a much longer time to accomplish. Pros Its easy. Cons There isn't anything I can really complain about. If there is something that isn't working properly sometimes it is a browser issue that I can easily just toggle between. September 21, 2016 4.0 I retired from a county Police Dept of 1,200 officers and we used DMS for CALEA and all documents. I was hired by a smaller city of just 47 officers and use it for the State Certification and all documents. We will soon expand DMS use to all city employees . The IT and support have been the best part of using DMS each time I call or email theirs an answer. Pros The support. The ability to use different methods also keeps training from becoming mundane. Cons Has taken me quite some time to become familiar with many of the functions. " August 16, 2017 4.0 All policies housed in one area, with the capability of getting signatures as well as verifying understanding of policies through testing. Pros I can keep documents in one area. People can look up policies on the go with the mobile apps. I like that classes can also be completed. Cons The learning curve of getting everything out of the software that you want. There are too many steps to get things done. The software is Not very user-friendly. It is difficult to train others how to use the software. The apps are lacking, all you can do is view policies. Uploading new documents is a breeze, creating tests is simple and efficient and proving compliance is made easy with this system. Cons There is a time-out feature of only 20 minutes, which is cumbersome to users that are needing to keep the system open for searching policies and procedures at a glance. It is slow for everyone to get used to because they don't use it every day. I do use it every day and it is very easy to use. The customer service agents are excellent. I like that you can chat with someone on their website. I can't always make a phone call and some times it is easier to just converse that way. Pros Easy to use. I like that I can add a powerpoint on training and have the officer complete that training while in thier patrol car. Cons I would like more progress done in the training component. " May 17, 2017 5.0 Accreditation files are easy to keep up-to-date, employee signatures for policies and training records are easily accessed. Pros There are so many advantages to using PowerDMS. The assessment module has made keeping accreditation files up-to-date so much more efficient. Cons We didn't purchase it until 2012. I leaned heavily on the PowerDMS Support Staff and always had the best results. If they did not know the solution, they took the time to research and help me step by step. I would be lost without the support staff. Pros The software is easy to navigate and simple to understand. It is user-friendly. Cons I have no negative comments. The design is very thoughtful for the end user. While the setup interface takes some to learn, I would highly recommend this software. Pros This software makes policies and training of many employees very manageable. Setup isnt the easiest and it does take some time to learn. It gets easier the more you do it. On the user side, its very easy for the employee to be trained and sign off on docs after viewing. If you dont have a good business practice in place, this is a great way to implement one. Cons The software is extremely powerful and does alot. The downside is that in order to maximize the tools provided, it takes time. For a larger organization that may have several people trained on it thats ideal. Smaller organizations where the person isnt in it all the time, there may be alot of relearning the steps each time. December 13, 2017 4.0 Pros My department is spread over 8 locations. PowerDMS allows us to share documents and information quickly. I also like that I can track changes and edits along the way. Cons There isn't much a\\I don't like about it. The struggle is getting firefighters to actually log in and check it. Once they do, they don't have a problem using the software. July 24, 2017 5.0 Manages our policies/procedures and our accreditation process. Pros I like the ability to manage our department's directives and procedures in a one stop application. From the officers reviewing policies on an annual basis and putting out updates or new policies, PowerDMS makes reaching everyone and documenting that they got it, an easier task than what we did before. Cons Using PowerDMS for the first time was a challenge for me. Getting everything set-up was difficult at first, but customer service was available.
