Pros: Markups are easy to do, it imports a lot of formats, and exporting is simple. it's team markup system is robust and you can export a whole report of all markups and easily sort the markups by the company/person who makes them.

Cons: it is a SYSTEM. meaning if you have a project with multiple consultants/contractors, they ALL have to be in it to make it work. otherwise you have contractors who can miss markups because they soley like to look at PDFs instead of logging into Bluebeam. If everyone's in it and working together, it's a solid program. Have experienced an abnormal amount of dropped connections to a shared file. Also, note, REVU which is the free version, doesn't tell you that you can't save all your markups until they END.. when you spent a whole lot of time marking stuff up and go to hit save, it says you have to purchase it.

Overall: easy markup capability in PDF. and it allows for GROUP markups and easy notifications for RFI's etc.

Bluebeam is an amazing tool with many uses, its a very prominent tool in the AEC industry globally.

Pros: Bluebeam is primarily used as pdf reader. Apart from that, it can help in overlaying sheets, create sets of drawings, creating markup, adding links and comments, multiple user features through feature called bluebeam sessions. Just to some up its a great tool.

Cons: Bluebeam is complete package and its hard to point out any cons. But its purely a 2D software the 3D Pdf is not as impressive as I would have liked, it slows down if you try a big 3D pdf file.

I like using Bluebeam for viewing docs and also doing takeoffs.

Pros: I like how I can do various takeoff exercises within the same document. It gives me the ability of changing scales from page to page. I can change colors and fonts as I see fit. It sorts each takeoff item into various categories and layers.

Cons: The larger files can bog down the speed of working in the program. Especially when working off of an off-site server, sometimes the larger files with so many different layers can take a lot of time loading, and get a delay when zooming in and out.

Overall: It's a great software program to run estimates with.

Pros: I love this program and the functionality that goes along with it. Being able to manipulate PDF's the way this allows you to do is amazing!

Cons: I have yet to find any cons for the Bluebeam PDF Revu program. I have used this at two different companies and am not sure what I would do without it at work!

Comments: Overall a fantastic program!

Pros: It's PDFs for architects and engineers. I really love the markup capabilities and being able to transmit pdf plans of Autocad files.

Cons: The 3D user experience is difficult for me and also the drawing tools could be a bit better. The RFI for submittal isn't bad, but other competitors are slightly better.

The latest version has removed functionality, and gotten much more clunky.

Comments: Life needs more color, blue is in the name, but by removing it and most other colors they have made me blue.

Pros: It was fairly self explanatory, but that functionality is lessened with latest update. The functions it uses are often better than ACAD products where accuracy is not needed, yet it is rather accurate. The look of the pdf's generated is rather customizable.

Cons: They change the normal way of things just for the sake of it. The file sizes are rather large. The naming and placement of toolbars has been removed from the user's functionality in this latest version.

Pros: It's a one stop shop for almost any work you'd like to perform on a PDF.

Bluebeam is very simple to use and it has a wide range of features that range from making small edits and annotations to automatized processes such as posting new pages that replace old ones, or finding text and adding hyperlinks to it.

Cons: It's not a dislike of something in particular, since this is not what the software is intended for, but it would be nice to have a "Word" functionality where you could add pages that are treated like a text page, just like a Microsoft Word document

Overall: One-stop shop to read, edit, and create PDFs. You don't need to complement with any other software.

Pros: This software is one of the least expensive on the market." It allows for the examination and sharing of plans for a collaborative review process. Bluebeam allows us to update the asbuilt drawings as soon as the design professional has execute changes. This allows us to create our asbuilt drawings as changes come about rather than waiting to the end of the project.

Cons: There are a lot of features that will take some time to figure out after you purchase the software. Some of the feature are specific to certain construction and design disciplines. Over all Bluebeam is a great collaborative tool for any project.

Overall: Easy to share, do take offs and annotate on the same drawing.

Comments: The only program that is open on my desktop more frequently is Outlook.

Pros: Bluebeam Revu is our go to method of performing drawing takeoffs, quantity estimates, markups, secure form generation and file conversion.

Cons: The cost of a single seat is a bit high for an individual or even small businesses. Volume licensing is where you can save a good amount of money. There are also some funny quirks that happen with Bluebeam on occasion that require me to close and re-open the application.

Bluebeam has by far surpassed and "PDF Viewer" software and has made my job 10x more efficient.

Pros: I love the constant improvements but also keeping core functions that I use everyday .
the shotcut keys are awesome. Combining PDFs with ease as amazing. Batch function to perform find and mark functions with hundreds of sheets in seconds is amazing.

Cons: the 3D PDF part is still a little foreign and tough to make my way around. It does seem to slow down a lot when there are more lines or layers to the PDFs as well. If there was a way to improve on that that would be great.

Overall: It has save a lot of time. I have also found an endless amounts of functions in this software that has been very helpful while trying to present information to clients.

All in one - PDF editor, Estimates, explorer, viewer and etc.

Pros: This is a powerful software. If you know how it exactly works, you¿ll end up with a very organized report, as a result, you can save a lot of time. It is really smart, it gives you multiple columns like length, contact area and volume.

Cons: To begin with, there are lots of features and is complecated, of course this is for a reason. It¿s not like other softwares which you can be expert in a couple of days. You shout take time.

I use it everyday as a project engineer.

Pros: It has every tool I need to do my job. I am constantly manipulating PDF documents to put them into a submittal, RFI, communicate an issue to an owner/architect, and control the construction documents.

Cons: The cost of this software makes it very difficult to own on a personal computer. It's capabilities are great, but when using the standard version instead of the extreme, many of the features I use are not available. Specifically the studio suite and the batch tools.

I use Bluebeam everyday at my job. In my opinion it's the best PDF software available on the market.

Pros: The measurement tools in Bluebeam are second to none. For civil engineering work, this program shines as one of the best quantity takeoff tools available. All of this is outside of just being an excellent PDF program. Has a vast majority of tools that most competitors don't which is useful for a number of different uses.

Cons: My only real complaint with Bluebeam is that sometimes the Bluebeam studio can freeze up and not perform well. A lot of this depends on the system it is linked to, but it still struggles from time to time with large files.

Pros: We are in the process of switching Adobe Acrobat to Bluebeam PDF Revu. Bluebeam is more cost-effective, powerful and easy to use. It also has features that streamline the review process for our design teams.

Cons: Some users found the graphical interface a little complicated at first but nothing too hard to learn.

Pros: Bluebeam is one of the easiest products out there to use. I love that you can make on the fly edits and notes. There are many options to make markups. I love how easy it is to combine PDFs.

Cons: There is only one thing that I have an issue with. When other people are using other pdf programs, sometimes my edit don't show up. I assume it's a compatibility issue.

Pros: I find it a great tool for our work, almost invaluable at how often we use it to calculate estimates. Very useful.

Cons: Difficult to adjust between design software's and revu. It would be a great feature to have a setting that allows you to adopt shorthand keys from a specific software allowing you to work more effectively in Bluebeam based on the software you use most.

Overall: Great tool for estimating and revuing blueprints.

Cons: The software is a little cumbersome for new users; however, that's simply because it's soooo powerful.

Comments: Purchasing additional seats is super-simple. As the admin, I like not having to jump through hoops to get more keys.

Pros: Too many to mention. Ability to sign documents, add text, shapes, lines, and whatever else you think up, flatten, etc. All within an easy-to-use interface that takes very little training to be up to speed.

Cons: Standard with maintenance included, but well worth it. If you buy several seats on one key, you have to upgrade all of them at once, unless you email them. I'd like to see that process a little easier.

Comments: It compliments any other software you have.

Pros: This software is by far the "most for the least." I haven't found any other software that allows for such robust examination and sharing of plans for so cheap. Bluebeam allows us to decide who can alter plans, who can flatten them (make the changes permanent), and who can just view them (like sub-contractors). Paid subscriptions are super cheap compared to other softwares that make the same claims.

Cons: Sometimes the icons can get confusing, and having to use a password all the time is a pain, but a small price to pay for a cool shareable medium for plans.

Pros: It makes my quantity estimates a lot efficient and more accurate that means less mistakes. You load up the pdf file and then you have to calibrate it according to the drawing scale and start measuring. It helps me a lot in calculating irregular areas and volume. Also, it gives accurate result when estimating by direct counting method and it saves a lot of time. Also, you can cut some portion of areas that is not included and you get the net area result. Ex. when computing the wall area less the windows and doors, then you can easily get the net area of the wall without the windows and doors.

Cons: it does not update the name of the part that you are estimating. For example. if you have been estimating columns and when youre done you proceed to another say, beams, the results will be seen under the columns name. Therefore you have to be aware of that, otherwise youll have to go thought the pain separating each of the item and group them into another.

Pros: It was hard for me to switch to reviewing documents digitally. I tried several apps and it was always easier for me to print the document. Even with Bluebeam, before I learned how to navigate, seemed cumbersome. I am glad I didn't give up. Things are so much easier and collaboration is great. I can make comments and send them to others and I don't have to keep track of what happened and when.

Cons: Large architectural drawings require a lot of panning around on anything but huge monitors. But I have learned to work with it. Once the navigation becomes second nature, it doen't bother me much.

Pros: This software has more functions than I even know how to use. For its basic use it works well for marking up pdf documents and arranging pdf files as needed. The its many functions, there is every reason to learn more and use them.

Cons: This software has a large learning curve. With its massive array of functions comes learning how to use certain functions that may not even be needed in the long run.

Overall: This software allows our firm to save paper on markups for drawings. This is a great help to being environmental friendly. It also allows faster and smarter communication when it comes to those markups.

Cons: There isn't a lot. The take-off interface is still clunky compared to others but it works great for small takeoffs from a project managment side

Pros: I love the ability to manipulate PDF's and the wide range of tools that help accoplish this. I alos love its ability to work with blueprints on measuring and quantifying items. I love Bluebeam by far the most helpful tool i have at work.

Cons: 2018 version takes everything you love about bluebeam and throws it in the trash. Its new user interface makes it impossible to find the tool your looking for. Not sure who came up with this "genius" idea but they should be fired. As a longtime bluebeam user the 2018 version is designed cause confusion and frustration and overall decrease your productivity. Comments: This software has so many more uses than Adobe it is truly amazing. The uses are endless, its just trying to figure out HOW to use the software and where you need to look to utilize all of the elements contained within. The HELP section is endless, and desperately needed. As well, if you go to the Bluebeam website, they do have endless videos to help you learn how to manipulate the software.

Pros: So much you can do with this software... if you can't find it in this software, you just don't need it!

Cons: So much stuff in this software you can be easily overwhelmed and find yourself lost in too much detail.

Pros: Edits are easy and you can really do some incredible things with this software. I love that i am able to work seamlessly between BB and Outlook for example-using tools like screen shots without having to attache the entire document. I also love the email function from PDF. Works great when i quickly need to pull a page or two for a foreman.

Cons: I find that it can hold on to documents. So it will show as in use and I can not move or delete the file. Its an easy fix and I know it holds them for easy access when in the program so Its not really an issue but can be a hassle at moments

Comments: Architecture and Engineering firms can benefit from all of the great features integrated into Bluebeam, provided that smaller firms can swallow the initial cost of acquisition and ongoing maintenance.

Pros: Bluebeam is amazing. It has all of the features that draftspersons need to create effective take-offs. It almost has too many features when we first installed the Revu eXtreme software. They have a great support/training system though, and we've now installed this on every company computer.

Cons: It can be a bit cost prohibitive compared to other PDF editors. This is offset by the abundance of features in Bluebeam, however small businesses should ensure that the cost-benefit is worth it to them.

Pros: Using the Studio aspect of the program, our project team is able to upload virtually any document to an online server. From here any other party can view and download these files without requesting them from the project team. Makes file sharing efficient.

Cons: It becomes difficult to track documents in the software as the logging option is difficult to learn and time consuming.

Overall: We have successfully uploaded thousands of PDF files for subcontractors to utilize on a daily basis. In addition any mark-ups have been saved and shared with the project team to ensure that all parties are on the same page at all times.

Pros: I am not an engineer, but work for a firm and have worked on several projects using bluebeam to review CAD plans and drawings. Although I mostly use Adobe Acrobat, this software is better to use for engineering plans for markup capability alone. There are so many options that allow you to properly markup plans, ability to assign certain color flags to pages, and you can also track markups, which is great when several people are working on the same file.

Cons: It took me a little time to learn where everything was and all the capabilities of the software. Not sure on the cost factor.

Pros: There is much you can do with this software. The learning curve is long for this program but it is quite functional.

Cons: When you save a document the save window takes up the entire screen. There is no way to reduce the size of the window or even move it to my second monitor. I am typically multitasking and not being able to minimize or move the save screen is problematic.
How do you delete a stamp from the drop down list? Many of the stamps I have created are now obsolete but there is no obvious way to delete them or even rename them.
What about a back button to reverse an action done in error? This function does not appear to be available.
These are just a few examples of challenges to using this software.

Comments: Overall I think Bluebeam Revu is a wonderful program. It is easy to use and difficult to make mistakes that aren't easily fixed. I think it is a necessity for anyone dealing with official documents, editing PDFs, and working in the architectural/construction industry.

Pros: There are so many pros about this program. My favorite tools would be the calibration tool for verifying and editing architectural plans, the stamp and markup tools for approving and commenting on official documents, and the comparison tool for overlaying revised documents to see design changes. I love that Bluebeam Revu is simple yet sophisticated.

Cons: One con is that whenever I lose network connection, my stamp folder loses the path to my stamp folder. It would be helpful if there was a way to save the default stamp folder so when I regain connection it will automatically connect. Another issue is with flattening. It would be nice if there was a password or something users could share with a team in order for everyone in the team to have access to flattening and unflattening. Perhaps there could be a way to choose whether to only have the user who flattened be able to unlock it or to give access to teams.

Pros: I love everything about this program! It fits every need that we have, as a general contracting company. The measure tool is by far my favorite, you can set any scale that you want and get accurate measurements off of plans without having to go to the field at all. It's extremely user friendly and easy to learn. This software lets us do anything from stamping that a plan has been received to authenticating signatures on contracts. I recommend bluebeam for everyone.

Cons: The only slight issue I have is the fact that you aren't able to view two documents at the same time; when you scroll down on one of the documents the other one scrolls to the same place. This is a great feature for comparing documents with minor revisions that you need to see, but it isn't beneficial if the two documents didn't start out as the same.

Cons: There were times where the software would lag a bit, and any edits using bluebeam on the initial PDF appeared to jump on the screen before returning to where they were initially placed

The product is a true life saver.

Pros: As someone who reviews and edits PDF documents on a daily basis, I couldn't image my day without Bluebeam. You can do just about any with this software including but not limited to scaling drawing, adding notes, editing documents, signing documents and even batch renaming documents.

Cons: The reduce file size option is not as effective as I'd like, I often find myself with large file that I can send via email and wish Bluebeam allowed me to make files smaller without so much image distortion.

Great product, easy to use.

Pros: Editing options, and construction tools for work. Easy to change from pdf to a word document also. I like that I can flatten all edits and use layers.

Cons: The one thing that is difficult is the layer process. Overlaying new documents into old and trying to snap shot to get the scale correctly is somewhat time consuming.

Great collaboration tool. Easy to track changes. A must for the construction industry!

Pros: Great software. Easy to learn and excellent training videos. Not only do I use it as a CAD program for bids and to measure foundations, I use the PDF Software as well.

Cons: I wish the program on the tablet was easier to use. It jumps and skips when I am trying to measure a foundation plan. Other than that it is a great program for the computer

Comments: One of the best all around tools for construction.

Pros: This product is great for doing a takeoff while reading plans. You are able to get square footage's, measurements and much more to help you in the construction industry.

Cons: I would say the only issues that I have had with this product is when I have several documents open at the same time they get mixed up and I have to restart the program.

Pros: Tracking of comments on construction drawings is quite a challenge. Bluebeam is great at getting notices out to people and letting them know that drawings need to be reviewed. You can set due dates, it tracks comments that are made and by whom, you can even follow comments in real time as they are being made by others. The software is simple enough to get into and get started without too much difficulty.

Cons: There are a lot of advance features for the software and with advanced features usually comes confusion and lack of clarity on how to execute certain actions. I think the ability to administer a drawing review and get it setup has a number of options that can be confusing.

Overall: It has streamlined many of our project and construction drawing reviews. Saved a lot of labor hours and allowed for more efficient and effective projects.

Pros: I like the ability of having a digital software that you can upload documents and blueprints to and make edits on. It is easily transferable, no hassle, and can be used for great collaboration. Similar formatting as Microsoft Word.

Cons: Not much to complain about with BlueBeam. Possibly the fact that the main file it saves in is pdf. If you needed diversity in your types of files that would be a negative.

Overall: It has allowed me to collaborate with ease on projects that have high level of detail.

Comments: I was forced to use Bluebeam by my company unwilling to work with Adobe that I like to use. Now that I am using Bluebeam I can see some value in it compared to Adobe.

Pros: I like Bluebeam for reviewing PDFs, comparing new PDFs to older versions, marking them up with my notes, and doing small takeoffs.

Cons: The form tool is difficult to use but it does work. Extracting and inserting sheets is more complicated then drag and drop.

Pros: This software is easy to use and very functional for the construction industry. Best of all, it allows for the collaboration of team members working on the same project. One can organize folders and files as necessary for the project being worked on.

Cons: Would be nice if software kept track of who uploaded files and/or who made the last revision. This would be a helpful tool especially as number of users grow and project files increase. Maybe this comment is irrelevant and there is a way to do this but I haven't found how yet. Maybe with time.

Overall: Organization of project files especially with multiple team members

Pros: The measurement tools benefited me the most as I estimate projects. I thought it was easy to use and I would have liked to ended up using it.

Cons: I did not like the price. I would have used the software but competitors had products for less cost and since our division is newer for commercial purposes I could not justify the cost.

Overall: The brief time we used it, it seemed very user friendly and the functionality was great. It just had a few more options then we really needed so could not justify the cost at this time. It will probably be something we purchase down the road.

Comments: Overall I think it is a great product!

Pros: I love how easy it is to use and get dimensions from. I also love how you can make up a set of plans and save them for the field supervisors to read

Comments: If you need a document editing/viewing software, this is it.

Pros: Bluebeam can handle everything I throw at it. I can convert from almost any format to a PDF, images, office docs, websites, you name it. Not only that, it can backwards convert to most file types. I can take an image of text and convert it to a word document, or take a matrix on a set of plans and go to excel.

Cons: Some of the more advanced features are a pain to figure out. There is so much functionality built into the program that I've actually had to relearn things because they are buried in menus and options.
