" September 12, 2018 4.0 One of the largest benefits that we realized by using Bluebeam Revu is team collaboration across different time zones and area. Pros What we have really appreciated about Bluebeam Revu is its ability to take accurate measurements directly from a PDF document without needing to print it out onto paper. Additionally, Bluebeam Revu is excellent for participating in shared plan reviews. Cons The interface is a little bit clunky, so it is difficult at times for new users to find their way around or figure out how to do things. Pros The product allows me to markup and view Plans in the field in an accurate, neat, and organized fashion. Cons The Mac version does not have all of the functionality of the Windows Version. Once I sync in I don't need wifi to open them up. I am able to mark up any documents and make notes in the field. Pros I was recommended to try Bluebeam by a coworker and very impressed by its functionality and ease of editing large PDF reports and construction drawings. I primarily use Bluebeam for markups and it makes the review and collaboration process much more easy and efficient. Cons Learning how the highly functional interface is organized was my first and only real hurdle with Bluebeam. It's a powerful software in comparison to other PDF editors I've used, so it took just a little getting used to before I was fully comfortable working with drawings. Doesn't feel snappy the same way over PDF viewers do. Pros Extremely useful feature set and powerful on the fly editing tools. Well designed for specific A&E uses. Cons Feels slower than similar products, and user interface is exceptionally cluttered and overly busy. Using toolbars (Microsoft Word style) rather than dropdown menus is not intuitive but doesn't necessarily negatively impact usability. Also much less intuitive/usable for multipage text documents. Much better than just Adobe or Nuance for looking at PDF plans. Cons Ease of the tools available to mark up plans is not super easy. Overall redlinging of a pdf is much simpler and more options available than other programs. February 10, 2017 5.0 I have been using Bluebeam for about 2 years now, and I love it! I feel like every time I use it, I find a cool new feature that makes my job easier. Our estimating department has recently been discovering how to use BB to make take-offs and bids easier and quicker. It is really a one-stop-shop program and most of our employees use BB daily. Pros Has the capability to work with plans, and can be used to take a set of plans from the pre-construction/pre-bid phase all the way to closeouts. Markups and take-offs are a breeze and save me tons of time on a daily basis. Cons I don't think I can think of many cons. The one thing I could love to see is a simplified online application (i.e. PDF viewer with simple markup tools) that integrates with online storage drives (GDrive, Box, Dropbox, etc). I know there's an iPad app, but our company runs on Android and I would love to see an app for use with regular tablets as well. I review a lot of documents and this keeps track of them all. Pros It was hard for me to switch to reviewing documents digitally. I tried several apps and it was always easier for me to print the document. Even with Bluebeam, before I learned how to navigate, seemed cumbersome. I am glad I didn't give up. Things are so much easier and collaboration is great. I can make comments and send them to others and I don't have to keep track of what happened and when. Cons Large architectural drawings require a lot of panning around on anything but huge monitors. But I have learned to work with it. Pros the adaptability of bluebeam revu is what I like the best, you can do takeoffs, mark-up drawings, draw up plans to scale,, there is still so much more to learn.
