It’s shortened the time we have to spend on social media and made the time we do spend on it much more streamlined. Pros We only use social media because Hootsuite allows us to manage all the different platforms at once. Otherwise we would only use 2 platform or spend a lot more time on it. " January 10, 2018 4.0 If you manage multiple social media pages for an organization or business, this is a great tool that will make your life so much easier and save you a lot of time! Pros Hootsuite is a great timesaver. I love that as I'm setting up social media posts for the week, I can schedule posts across multiple platforms at the same time, and be able to further tailor them to the character of each platform (Facebook post vs. Twitter post) all from the same site. I also really appreciate how you can add or remove different "streams" from your viewing page for each social media platform. For instance, on my Facebook tab in Hootsuite, I have my page's scheduled posts in one column, our already published posts in the next column, and our inbox messages in another. For Twitter, though, I have my page's tweets in one column, our other newsfeed tweets in another (which I can retweet, reply to, and like all from that column in Hootsuite!), our mentions in a third column, and our direct messages in another. Cons Overall, Hootsuite is great, but there are a couple of things that bother me from time to time. When scheduling Facebook posts with multiple photo attachments, I've found that Hootsuite will publish each photo as a separate post, but with the same text each time, instead of including all the images in one post. This means that in these cases, I always have to go to Facebook's page to schedule posts with multiple images instead of being able to do it from Hootsuite. It's not something I have to do very often (typically, I only include one image with a post), but it's annoying nevertheless. I've also occasionally had Hootsuite incorrectly block me from being able to schedule my posts because it's internal clock is off and says that my posts (which I'm trying to schedule for several days away) aren't being scheduled for more than 5 minutes in the future. All the information is stored directly in the cloud, so that less risk is taken when synchronizing it between our different devices. In addition, with hootsuite it became easier to execute marketing strategies through multiple social networks. It is recommended for its great ability to integrate to instagram, linkedin, pinterest and Facebook. We recommend it because of its great facility to focus on specific customer targets, and to manage large amounts of network accounts, because the platform offers enough capacity to program and review metrics unlimitedly. Pros Hoosuite is a social selling software that allows you to monitor social networks, and create publications in them completely automatically. The publication system is very direct, so you do not really waste time setting up the tools to schedule each publication. We like to be able to review the engagement with our audience, and the performance metrics of each publication, in order to know which marketing strategies are most effective. Cons You can not make content discovery, or review the comments of the audience. Does not practice employee advocacy. It does not integrate chat tools or online conferences (essential to better coordinate the work among several community managers), and does not store the versions of the posts that have been republished before being finally published. It should be noted that the deployment of hootsuite is a bit poor, since it is not installed on any type of device, which limits the work to depend on the internet connection. It is easy to use and self-explanatory, and truthfully I can tell a difference in my exposure because my business is now brought to my contacts daily through the pre-scheduled posts. Pros The thing I love the most is that I can schedule it ahead of time. Social media is here to stay and to remain relevant in today's business world, you almost have to have comments, posts, Tweets, etc going out daily. With so many platforms, I got bogged down and resentful about having to keep up with it. Now, with Hootsuite, I write 20 posts, schedule them into Hootsuite and forget about it for the week. The posts drop on the day and time I scheduled, into the platforms I chose. And on the rare occasion that the PERFECT comment, or Tweet hits me, I can immediately drop it into Hootsuite to be published at a future date. I don't have to try and remember what it was I came up with Friday night while cleaning the oven. LOL Cons I don't like that I could only add three social media platforms to my account without having to start paying for a Pro membership. Three barely scrapes the surface. Starting from its free package, you will find yourself covering all the essentials you need for your day to day operations when it comes to social media. The columns/tabs interface is what sold the product to our team compared to all the other competitors we tried. In addition, the ability to connect multiple profiles, create columns to listen to important topics and team communications and messaging (paid feature). The free plan also allows you to schedule up to 30 posts, and if you need more, upgrading to any of their paid plans is as cheap. As we had many clients to handle and our team required a lot of collaboration, we were under the team plan. it was easy to setup an automated monthly report that goes to the client, which saved us tons of time, and the team collaboration features allowed us to assign the right roles and exchange messages, assign tasks and customer inquiries (tweets and comments) to one another with ease. Cons While Hootsuite covers the essentials you might need for your day to day social media, it lacks much in-depth analysis, listening and reporting features. In addition, it does not have cross-platform profiling and does not have features to help you setup competitions or gather/mine data easily. For its purpose, it sports a relatively easy-to-use user interface that makes it easy to use and see all your social media accounts from a single web page. This alone is worth its price, rather than having multiple webpages and/or web browsers which can make things messy and convoluted. Another big win is its Hootsuite has well-developed mobile apps on Android and iOS make it easy to use on the go. Cons I used the free version of Hootsuite for about 6 months, then decided to subscribe to the Pro version for about another 6 months, and finally decided to stop using it as it is rather pricey. The paid version provides analytics/reporting of your social media stats which can be useful depending on your profession (e.g. if you are in marketing and manage your company's social media image). " July 10, 2018 4.0 We were able to cut our time spent on posting to social media in half! Pros We manage multiple social media accounts for multiple clients and we had to hire another team member to manage them all. We finally found Hootsuite and it cut the time spent in half. We were able to schedule posts ahead of time, shorten links, and see at-a-glance what was happening with each account. Hootsuite is worth its weight in gold. We even tried a few others, like Buffer, but always came back to Hootsuite because of the UI and features, including a Chrome extension to be able to post while not in Hootsuite, say if you were browsing the internet and came across something perfect to post but you weren't actively logged in to Hootsuite. Cons We had two small issues. We couldn't get decent reporting and analytics unless we upgraded to a more expensive plan and we would occasionally lose our connected accounts, forcing us to go through another verification process. If you have international clients, this becomes an issue because of IP addresses. But once everything was connected, it was smooth sailing. When writing a post-it shows how my post will look when it will be published. 30 post queue is just awesome, it means I can set 30 posts scheduled at a time for 3 social media account. But as I only use one account, 30 posts are never gonna fill up for me. The tutorial is very intuitive and shows you step by step what to do, which saves a lot of time searching on how to post. Pros Hootsuite helps me to get more engaging and post timely using schedule auto-posting. As LD is not my primary social sharing platform it is very easy to forget about and lose interest. Hoot suite helped me to be more engaging without being online the whole day. I just set all my engaging posts on a day or two weekdays to post automatically. Now I can use more time in work and not on social media. It's really a lifesaver and now my more contacts are engaging with my posts. I must share another feature of Hootsuite, which is really unique. It lists all my posts and their engagement so I can see all my activity on one page. It is just like my private wall which is missing from LD. I must include using royalty free image service from pixabay is just really helpful and help me to search and post quickly. Cons When using FB and LD, the limit of 30 is reached quite easily as I am very active on them. Si, I have to delete my FB, and use LD for more engagement with my contact. Hootsuite allows me to take a post and set it up on my schedule, include images and links... and have it post across all social media sites. It updates and allows you to see how many characters you have left, depending on which site you are posting to, and allows you to choose any additional images you would like included. Instead of having to visit individual sites and edit on your own, everything can be done from one easy to use dashboard. Cons The only problem I have with the site is that there are definitely times where it will go down for a while. I tend to be working in the evenings while using this website, and sometimes at night there are some quirks, probably that they are doing work in the background assuming less people are using it. Cons I haven't engaged with it much, but I believe you should be able to react and comment on posts your organization is tagged in right from Hootsuite. I've tried a couple of times but haven't really seen that it works well. Again I was referred by another designer to try it out. Whereas I had to plan my day and take time out post to social media, which is a distraction in its self. Hootsuite keeps me focused on the tasks, and keeps me available to my clients. I would start with the free trial to get your sea legs, then get the pro plan. That's all you need to stay out front in social media. Pros Frees up time so you don't need a social media manager. You can post when you want to and how you want to. I have multiple accounts, with a lot of followers. I need the time for designing and building my business and my brand across all the platforms. when you are starting a new business, you need all the help you can get. Cons The pricing is a lot, but for 10 accounts, it's worth it. I have about six accounts and I don't have time to do that and draw, pull items and answer questions. Customer service can take a bit to get back, best at ask on one onf their social media accounts.
