Pros: No need to have anything but a desk phone, computer, or mobile device, and the internet to make it work. It is very feature-rich. They work with many phones, even others like Microsoft say are not compatible. If you have a bunch of old equipment that won't work with another cloud provider, RC will be one of your best bets to work with your hardware. If even they don't work with your devices, you probably need to get rid of your archaic technology. Provision is very quick and easy. Their chat support has less than a 10-minute wait, usually no wait. Their support is very capable. They handle all firmware upgrades automatically, at least with our VVX phones.

Cons: Cost much more than a locally-hosted system but I think if money is not an issue, it's much better to let your company do what it does best, and let RC do what it does best. Don't try to be a VoIP provider company just for yourselves. Let the pros do it (unless if you're a VERY large company maybe).

Don't pay crazy more for phones from them, just buy them on Amazon and provision them yourself in about three minutes. For rare, advanced problems, sometimes their support drops the ball and you need to contact your account manager. Sometimes he'll be out of the office for several days though. Anytime we've had more than two phones down, they have been able to solve our problems by the next morning, even for CRAZY issues. Most of the time support is very great and I recommend it.

Overall: If you are starting out, you might want to try a cheaper provider first, or bundle with Office 365 if you already have that. I know this is a solid solution. I've never had the chance to use anything else for VoIP, but I know this will get certainly get the job done well. I would have no reservations going into this at all if you need to make a quick decision. This company will be able to handle your system and do everything you need within reason.

Expensive, but worth it if you abuse the system.

Pros: RingCentral allows a far-flung Internet-based company to act like a local company in terms of having a local number to call (and call from), while allowing you to quickly and flawlessly transfer callers between extensions even if those extensions are on opposite sides of the planet. It also records all of your texts and calls, allowing you to download and save them for future needs, which is vital in any litigation-sensitive business like property management.

On the level of an individual worker, the ability to mix and match a SoftPhone (on your PC), the RingCentral app (on your mobile device), plus seamlessly forward calls from your landline *and* make a VoiP call that then forwards *your end* of that call to your landline and allows you to have the conversation over the phone like normal.

Cons: Really, the only problem with RingCentral is the price. The price per person per month is steep enough that a smaller company has to really be careful with who they give extensions to, and the limitation to two SoftPhone installs per extension means you can't really use an extension for a whole department or team. Right now, for example, my Marketing team has 3 full-time and 1 part-time worker, but the company can only afford one extension for all of the marketing, so I can't even install a SoftPhone on my desktop and my laptop, because the other one of our SoftPhones is installed on a computer in the Philippines so that we have multiple people who can answer the phone in case one is busy.

Oh, and I have had occasional problems where texting a RingCentral number from a service like Google Voice will flat-out not work, and we can't figure out why. But that's a really minor complaint, all things considered. :)

Overall: We are able to easily communicate (and keep track of our communications) in voice and text from opposite sides of the world without anyone calling in having any indication that we're not all in the same time zone.

Pros: Never had any downtime with RingCentral, which is a big deal to compensate for the fact that we all work remotely. It's important to feel that we can JUST call.

We had the occasional weird softrware incompatibility issues withe some USB headsets with the Softphones, but besides that, it felt like it just worked.

We have always been able to set up any menu tree, any re-routing option, any special hours of operation we wanted to, in order to suit our occasional business quirks.

They have also been quite flexible with our contract, with the occasional downgrade, even when they did not have to.

RingCentral also helps us comply with HIPAA standard, which allows us to have health-realted video calls with our clients on a secure platform. The video calls are really quite good, with little to no lag. RingCentral Meetings seems to be another one of their services that seems to just work.

The admin portal seems to get better and better, and easier and easier to use. Even though it has a very extensive list of features and options, we seem to be able to manage each individual line ourselves almost all the time and do everything we need to without calling tech support for help.

Cons: The only cons I can think of are the price (although not as high as 8x8) and the occasional (quite rare, really) long wait time to call support.

It can feel a bit overwhelming at first because of all the options and features, but once the initial setup is done, it should be fine.

Overall: It's really quite something to have a portable phone system that you can use on any device that can access the internet.

Pros: There are so many things that are pros for this software. One of the best things is being able to take a call from multi devices. You can have a softphone (On your computer), physical phone and an app for your cell phone. The configurations are limitless on how you want an inbound call to be routed. The other great feature is being able to fax from your cell phone or your computer via the soft phone. When it comes to notifications, you can get them via SMS, email or both. If you have a team then your really in business for they have GLIMP which is a message service you can use on either your computer or smartphone. The best part is if someone does not have a RingCentral service, not a problem, they can just download the app and your messaging. Lastly the service staff are very helpful and will walk you thru any issue your having and will also teach you if you want to learn.

Cons: If you're going to use the shared line group and have a firewall make sure you get all the ACL IP's for they have a lot and they change often and RingCentral is not good at keeping you updated.

Overall: I am able to have access to phone call's pretty much anywhere I go and if I am not near one of the numbers I have set up, I will be notified of message's and be able to check them from all my devices. With the glimp chat interface you can keep in text message contact with team members from your computer or cell phone and if someone does not have Ring Central it's not a problem for they can just download glimp and your in business.

Pros: I´ve been using RingCentral at work since I got hired in the Company. For me it has been an important tool since the majority of our clients are contacted via telephone conferences. Also, ringcentral is very helpful for us because we have 2 main locations Miami and Bogota and we use it to comunicate between both offices the entire day. Ringcentral is very helpful in situations in which you need to connect your clients with people in different offices. Even if you don´t use the video feature you know who is speaking because the name of the person appears in the entire screen (which is super usefull if you are connected which several persons at the same time). I had also use it via cellphone and it is super easy to use, you only need to call a particular number and then mark the code of the meeting, for me this is important in cases when I have a meeting but I´m in the middle of traffic or something similar. Ringcentral also offers you the opportunity to share your screen so everyone in the meeting can see your presentations and you can even give them the control of your screen so they can make changes directly to any document if you need it, we use this feature between the teams in Bogota and Miami and it is super usefull because we can work in several things at the same time.

Cons: I don´t have any complaints about this software, for me it has been very helpful.

Overall: Ringcentral meetings give us the opportunity to connect with our clients in an effective way. Also, it s great to use inside our company to connect our offices over the world.

Pros: Very powerful solution that can be fully managed through their online interface. I like the support of all of the Polycom phones, support for presence, call queue setups, schedules, etc. It's a very comprehensive system that does a LOT.

Cons: Two issues we have.....

1) We used to use phone.com and we found we had better control of the call flow using their system. We've run into some call flow planning issues due to limitations of Ring Central.

2) WOW their customer support is bad bad bad! At least I just had a terrible experience. We hired a new employee and I needed to setup his phone. We had an existing line setup that we weren't using. I just needed to update the line to use his new phone. It wouldn't let me add his phone to the existing line and wanted me to make a new line. I did that and then I had two lines on the extension. I tried to delete one of the extensions and it said I cannot. I call support and the lady on the phone said she "Ok I can fix this for you but don't ever let this happen again". She was dead serious. I got upset at her about that comment. Long story short, she kept me on hold for 35 minutes then said she couldn't do it and they would call me when it's done. I called back in the next day, talked to someone else and within 10 minutes everything was fixed. What the hell!

Overall: Overall good product but there is a learning curve on the setup (Complex interface) and their phone support isn't great

Comments: Don't bother asking for a dedicated support technician. We've been at this for two years and have had like 12 "dedicated" support techs. They have insanely high turnover. Half their customer support reps don't know what they're doing. They're friendly, but that isn't what I need. I need someone with the knowledge to manipulate their complicated system. In theory, it should be a snap to use, but the tutorials and help areas are very outdated and no longer applicable. Also, when you login from the same computer, indeed even the same browser and you haven't even closed it, you just "log out, and log right back in" you are going to see different menu items available to you. Sometimes it logs you into your extensions even though you don't have an extension saved or input in the login screen... and no, it isn't my cache, my settings, etc. etc. I have even tried from computers without things saved. We have missed SO many calls and messages because of the difficulty in function and use of this call system. We are looking for another provider - cost isn't important for us, we need functionality and reliability.

Pros: Multi-user support with simultaneous phone ringing Text message friendly that updates on all screens/phones Fax integration so you can receive faxes digitally on the go

Cons: Horrible ignorant customer service who screws up your entire account Inconsistent reliability of the mobile app and service Cannot have 2 external phone numbers ringing the same phones on 1 account login

Recommendations to other buyers: If you need something complicated then you need IT Support on YOUR end who knows what they're doing and should not let RingCentral touch your account whatsoever. They have too many new hires who "try hard" and just mess it all up.

Pros: Having shopped business telephony solutions for my own professional practice, I settled on RingCentral as offering the best value for my dollar. I didn't need the VOIP services specifically, but since getting a suite of services from RingCentral I have used them routinely. Focusing specifically on the VOIP service offered by RingCentral I will say that RingCentral offers all the hard- or soft-line system customization options you could want, and makes it easy to use their VOIP services in whatever way you may require, either in the office or mobile. Meanwhile, RingCentral offers ready and helpful support for its customers.

Cons: Like any VOIP solution, RingCentral's VOIP quality is going to depend largely on the quality of your internet connection, which may be dodgy if you're operating remotely. This isn't a knock against RingCentral specifically, but a general warning. You'll also find if you're responsible for administering a RingCentral account, including setting up VOIP services, that while the system is extraordinarily powerful in terms of being able to customize it to your specific needs, the interface to do so is, frankly, pretty horrible and obtuse. Fortunately, for most purposes you may be largely able to "set it and forget it". However, if for some reason there are settings you may need to rotate on a regular basis, going through the system portal can be a big hassle.

Pros: The softphone app performs well and is easy to use. The softphone app can be installed on multiple computers allowing you to have, for example, one copy installed on your desktop and one copy installed on your laptop. This means that I can leave my desk and take my laptop with me and still be able to answer my phone.

The softphone integrates with Outlook, so I don't have to duplicate all my contacts into another piece of software. This saves so much time and makes life so much easier.

Cons: Missed calls are not registered on the soft phone in a timely manner. If I have a missed call, the soft phone may not show it for a few minutes or for a few hours.

Their is no app for Windows 10 mobile and no app for Windows 10 (besides the standard Windows OS application). Having a native UWP would be a great option for RingCentral

Soft phone installs are limited to two devices, so I can't install the soft phone on my work PC, work laptop, and home PC. Limiting the amount of soft phones that can connect to the service could be bumped up to 3 or 4.

The soft phone application is easy to use, but I think a revamp of the styling would make it even easier. I often click on different tabs because the icons are not always clear. One icon could mean two different things to two different people.

Pros: - Good call quality. Since it's VoIP, I was worried about call quality and dropped calls - but we've had RingCentral almost 2 years and I've never had an issue. It's all dependent on your internet connection, so if your internet is not great, then RingCentral probably isn't the best option for you. - Once you get the hang of it, it's easy to manage accounts and set up new users. - Great if you don't have a receptionist, or if most of your employees work remotely. You can have physical phones, as well as and app so that employees can use their cell phones. - Much cheaper than most standard phone carriers. - Fax option is great, you don't have to have a real fax machine - just a scanner.

Cons: - Implementation wasn't hard, but their administrative account is not the most user friendly. There are a ton of settings options, and if you don't use the phone system exactly how RingCentral assumes you will, it can take a while to configure your way and get around certain defaults. - Customer service is about what you'd expect - only a call center with agents that are hard to understand. Luckily we only needed customer service during implementation, we haven't had any issues since. - Employees will need to be trained, you can't just hand them the phone and account and tell them to run with it. One older employee had an extremely hard time with faxing - couldn't get over the fact that there wasn't a real fax machine.

Comments: I use RingCentral in our business every day. I can easily determine who has called during the past 60 days, and how often. I can also evaluate how many calls I'm missing, and I have the capability to quickly reference all of those calls that need to be returned. This software is a bit pricy, but if they could incorporate a better data function for customers it would be more than worth the cost.

Pros: RingCentral provides a valuable resource for companies with high call volumes. I like the fact that you can have multiple users and each user can be set up with their own Voice Messaging. The ability to create multiple greetings depending on if there is someone there to take the call, the time of day, if you are open or closed, or gone on vacation. I'm certain that RingCentral is more than most small businesses will ever use, but enough to take care of nearly every telephone need.

Cons: There is no way to maintain a useful database for your customers. Although there is a Contact feature, it's very basic. This Software would be a home-run if it had a useful database feature. For example, when a call comes in, it would be able to pull up a customers record on-screen that could be edited while speaking to the customer. It would also be useful to be able to import a CVS file to capture existing customers.

Pros: RingCentral has everything: centralized control, SMS, great Polycom phones, mobile app, fax as a service, voicemail and fax to email, Outlook and Office 365 integration, and the list goes on. The best part? It all works well. You can literally customize any part of the service. And unlike some providers, you don't pay extra for the auto attendant, which can be as simple or as complex as you care to make it. Their support will walk you through it all, helping you to achieve the perfect setup. You can have the service do secondary rings to your cell, the mobile app, the Windows app, whatever. I honestly cannot think of a single feature or function I've wanted that wasn't already available.

Cons: The reason RingCentral is only "almost perfect" is the annoying account reps, who call frequently. One time I had one call every user on our account within the space of a couple of days! This was done under the guise of ensuring everyone was happy with the service, but all that did was create a scenario where everyone complained--for the first and only time, mind you--about RingCentral. Fortunately, it had nothing to do with the actual service.

Overall: Moving to hosted VOIP from a POTS service was the best thing we ever did. I now have complete control over our voice communications and our users have more features and functionality available to them than they know what to with. Everyone loves it.

Pros: Ring Central is extremely easy to use and set up. Reliability is second to none and it has allowed me to seamlessly integrate our corporate phone system across three offices spread out around the country. The online and desktop experience is superb and well-liked by all employees. The app for smartphone makes it very easy to use your mobile device just like the desk phone and you can call all internal and external contacts on the go just as if you are at your desk. The cost is much lower than we were paying before and the best thing about Ring Central is that it involves no hardware (except for the phone) so no risk of server issues or need to ever pay anything for these. Their support is excellent and whatever very minor issues that have come up were quickly resolved via online chatting. Switching our corporate phone system to Ring Central has been one of the best things our company has ever done.

Overall: Seamless phone integration across multiple offices, a greatly reduced cost, and higher reliability and redundancy.

Pros: You can make calls from your browser, mobile phone, PC application, MAC, etc. You can purchase phone numbers in many countries around the world (as long as you have a proof of address). Some interesting new reports. Frequent updates to desktop app. Good admin portal with many features.

Cons: Very expensive. Configurations are quite confusing - not because of the service itself, but because admin interface has bad UX and terminology used is not intuitive. Even billing is so complicated I gave up trying to understand what minutes are included or not. As an Admin, I receive constant complaints about call issues - my users normally dislike it. In some countries, they just gave up and prefer to use their personal phones and pay from own pocket. To create a new user you can pretty much pay and get it immediately (if not a foreign phone number), but to cancel and stop paying 50 those dollars per month per user you have to contact your account manager (whenever he is available) and wait for him to cancel it (can take a couple of weeks, that of course you're paying for). It's better than the previous solution we used, but definitely it became a necessary evil unless we find something better.

Pros: The RingCentral Office suite has some great products which really integrate well with each other. I host daily meetings with the RingCentral Meetings app and quality is usually good. I also do a lot of cold calling from the soft phone and have the phone integrated with our Salesforce CRM, which makes logging calls very easy.

The RingCentral messaging app (Glip) is one of my favorite parts of the suite of products. Great for communicating with your team, sending files quickly, starting a quick video call, and just collaborating in general.

Cons: Although I love Glip, it keeps freezing on me and I have to uninstall it and reinstall it. Only to have it happen a few minutes later. Luckily, they have a web version of the app, which works great, but I do wish the desktop app would work.

We had a lot of issues with call/meeting quality with RingCentral when we first started, but soon realized it was the fault of the systems we were running the program on (4GB Microsoft Surface Tablets). We were experiencing bad call quality, echoes, and delays in calls. After switching to an 8GB Surface most if not all of those issues have been resolved.

Pros: Ideal business internet phone system on the market. Everything in one place - telephone, fax, text, zoom meetings, quick chat, you name it - Ring Central has it. The Ring Central App has benefited our business immensely. We can have sales associates on the road and still transfer calls from the office to them; the customer will not know whether they are in the office or on the road. Quick chat function (Glip) makes it easy to set up teams via chat (e.g. Sales Team) to push up daily targets, communicate fast and easily to a specific person, etc. People often respond to a message quicker than a phone call! The capabilities of Ring Central are endless. I would recommend anyone looking at a telephone system to check out Ring Central in detail.

Cons: Being an internet phone system, we have found the connectivity has been an issue. Some days the phone line will be extremely crackly, even though we have the best internet system available in our location.

Pros: I like the ability to install in the Desktop App, Cellphone and even on my tablet. The fax feature is very simple, its just the number@rcfax.com, other service use very long fax email in order to send by email, you can print directly to fax, or fax from Desktop App. I can send Pictures from the Desktop App and from Mobile App, this is very useful for my work. They had a promotion for a fee Headset and they delivered. I have used the service for a couple of years already and experienced only one downtime for an hour or two, so very reliable. The cost is higher than most of the other providers. But, I guess its worth it.

Cons: I always get confused with the settings, it is not very easy to get the actual system going. I have experienced some glitches where the app does not open on the desktop, I have to call myself once, then the app stays open after that.

Pros: It tends to work great a majority of the time. Recordings are very easy to play back, and are extremely helpful if you do any sort of dispatching or call-taking. This makes it very easy to reference information you may have forgotten to write down!

Cons: Call recording does not always work as it should. A majority of the time it does, however every so often it will record unanswered calls that it shouldn't, or playback of a call will skip and repeat the first few seconds before starting over due to a corrupted recording in the beginning. (All of the audio is still there, but you have to listen to it play the first few seconds again after it skips, before the rest of the call recording continues on normally).

Overall: This has allowed me to greatly be able to track information while on the go when I'm not able to stop or write things down. It also allows for great reference when it comes to incident accountability.

Pros: I'm not sure how much more robust the software could possibly be. We use RingCentral in-house as well as resell it and if it isn't top tier UCaaS, I don't know what is.

Cons: There is a wide dearth between the mobile or desktop apps and the browser application in terms of functionality. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as for most users, the lion's share of their interaction with RingCentral would likely either be via a desktop phone or on a computer screen; but I don't often have need to launch the app in the browser and do most of my work from my mobile device anyway. So as an admin, my ability to oversee the account is limited in those contexts.

Overall: We can't imagine a better solution for our unified communication needs. We use RC Meetings for each team's weekly updates and strategy sessions, Glip to message back and forth and share files in the interim, and use the desktop and mobile apps for RingCentral on a daily basis.

Pros: RingCentral's mobile and desktop apps are some of the best I've seen. Reliability of the service has been excellent with only one downtime incident that I can think of over the last year. Reporting features are great, and call routing features are flexible and powerful. Pricing is also good - we saved a significant amount of money by switching to RingCentral from our previous provider. One other thing that we like about RingCentral is their API, though we have yet to use it.

Cons: The management interface is outdated, clumsy, and hard to navigate. Some seemingly simple tasks can be hard to accomplish (for example, changing the user assigned to a physical device). We've run across several areas where functionality seems to be artificially limited for no good reason. For example, we can't have more than 10 users in a queue if simultaneous ringing is enabled. Another example, you can't remove users without contacting support and/or your account manager. Support, when you need it, is rather poor. The support reps are not knowledgeable and jump to canned responses without taking time to actually understand your question. We've also had trouble even getting in touch with our account manager.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure that RingCentral's limitations won't be a problem for you. If you need queues that ring more than 10 phones at once, look elsewhere. Otherwise, if you're looking for cost-effective and reliable VOIP service, then RingCentral is an excellent choice.

Pros: I like being able to track calls on a call log that I can download into Excel. I can download call logs and use the Find option in Excel to check for numbers to prove the presence of calls. I use the RingCentral app on my smart phone. The ability to text as well as call is very helpful because so many people will read a text ahead of a voice message. Multiple users were not difficult to set up after support walked me through the process.

Support was always helpful, although they did encourage me to learn to do things without them.

Security is good; there are multiple places requiring a second login to reach.

Having the fax option is most helpful.

Cons: The interface is a little intimidating until you have worked with it for awhile. The tutorials were outdated when I began.

Overall: The calls come through efficiently and effectively. I don't think I've ever had to say "RingCentral has messed something up." Consistently, quietly efficient.

Pros: Not only does this software use my number, I have an additional number as well as fax capabilities. It also has text capabilities and the RingCentral features like RC meetings and Glip. It can be used through a softphone, computer, or cell phone/tablet. All of this costs as much as I was previously paying for one line through our phone company.

Cons: It can be a pain when needing to use it on another computer. I have to go into the website, deactive the other computer to use it on the one I am on at the time. It's an extra step that takes time that I usually don't have.

Overall: It's saved me money and given me more capability than my phone company ever could. It's also made it so I can be anywhere in the world working and still be able to use my business phone. It's been a great investment.

Pros: We have had RingCentral for a while now and it was a very rocky start (not going to lie). However, they have come a long way and improved significantly. Amongst some of the improvements, the most important and positive are their call quality, their customer service, and call processing. Some of the features (e.g. call notifications) were very inconsistent and calls were not being received. I'm proud to say that this has improved SIGNIFICANTLY :)

Cons: The most disappointing feature of RingCentral is still the inability to download my call records for more than a few months at a time. That seems really unusual, not to mention inconvenient!! This is not conducive to being able to do reporting on call volume and such.

Cannot recommend due to incredibly poor service, clunky feature set.

Pros: RingCentral allows you to make calls consistently. In the 2+ years of use, I cannot recall a time where we experienced any downtime. RingCentral also allows you to easily and quickly purchase vanity phone numbers.

Cons: Customer support is incredibly poor and challenging to obtain. Technical support was never able to assist, and alway deferred to my account executive, who would consistently take a full 5 business days to respond to any inquiry.

RingCentral's IVR system is basic at best. Reporting and metrics are nearly impossible to obtain. Stay far, far away if you're looking for even basic reporting.

Overall: None. I have advised my company to find a new provider before RingCentral sneakily attempt to auto renew our contract for another year.

I utilized RingCentral for all my calls in the office and remotely for a customer service position.

Pros: I appreciated that RingCentral is utilized through my laptop, via my cell phone, and translated into voicemails via email and more. When I received a call on my laptop, the navigation through RingCentral made it easy to transfer calls, create a conference call, and track the numbers I received calls from. On top of that, RingCentral integrated with the Zoho CRM and allowed me to make calls through the CRM, logging my calls and providing the opportunity to document what the call was for, and more.

Cons: I found that after my cell phone was linked to RingCentral, even though customers were not calling my personal number, I started to receive a large number of spam calls to my personal number. I'm not sure if there was a link between RingCentral having my actual phone number and the spam calls but I started to think it could be a possibility.

Pros: We make frequent use of the RingCentral desktop softphone applet in office. The applet works pretty well! This applet is probably the sole reason I like RingCentral as much as I do. Its easy to navigate, dial phone numbers, set yourself away, and transferring is a breeze.

Cons: To name a few: -Round Robin is really the only scalable phone support option. You can sorta make multiple phones ring at the same time, but only in small groups. Essentially, you cannot set up a "ring everyone at the same time" style of phone. I suppose this isn't a big deal for some, but its definitely a downer for us. -The actual website. Navigating and dealing with phone settings and administration related tasks is not easy. Unless you read the knowledge center or know how to do it already, it takes a LOT of clicking around to familiarize yourself with where things are or what certain features are or even what those features may be called. -Not every option is available to change or toggle on the desktop softphone applet, meaning unless you know exactly what needs to be set up and how, it can take a while of clicking and navigating menus until you understand where options live and how to use them.

Recommendations to other buyers: There are a lot of options in this space, (we switched from OnSip) and some are definitely better than others. RingCentral works and fits our needs for where we are at now, but the biggest piece of advice I have is to only sign on for year-long contracts just in case you discover something that fits your needs better.

Pros: I liked the ease of doing video meetings. However everything else about it was poor at best.

Cons: Customer service support was horrible. There is poor follow-up on issues and everything takes at least an hour to go through and the issue will still not be resolved. They don't care about your time and availability and would also call to follow up at 6pm or later even on a Friday evening. It costs too much per line to get such poor service and performance. They blame every issue on YOUR internet provider but my peers have all the same problems and just give up and pray that it will work when they need it to work- you can't know for sure when and if it will work!

Overall: I'm changing services after being stuck with them for 2 years.

Comments: The price is good. Many features. RingCentral is a great upgrade for most businesses.

Pros: RingCentral offers a wide variety of features. It's easy to add phone users, phone numbers, and phone extensions. It has a wealth of features that help you improve the way you use telephone systems for business. You can also use conference call settings and faxing from RingCentral. The app is also easy to use and very convenient.

Cons: Some of the more advanced features are not as easy to use - initially. There are many features in the system, and for many people, the basic options are all they need. Some of the advanced rules can be a little difficult to understand, but once you figure them out, they're not hard to use.

Pros: Decent feature set for business users, including virtual assistant call routing and automatic call recording.

Cons: Call recording can be finicky, and doesn't function consistently. There have been many times where calls get disconnected when transferring to another line, or call recordings aren't saved.

Overall: Our office uses VOIP soft phones, and RingCentral offers this service with all the features a business may want, at a competitive price. We complain about the bugs we experience with RingCentral service regularly, but ultimately there are limited options for VOIP soft phones with business ready feature set and RC seems to be top of the heap. I wouldn't necessarily recommend them (as we complain about them seemingly consistently,) but if you need this service they are unfortunately one of the better options.

Pros: I love being able to transfer calls to any number. I travel somewhat regularly - all I do is download the app to my phone and I can make calls from my business number right from my personal cell. Clients see the business number instead of mine! I can also send text messages and faxes through the service. The VoIP option is great if cell signal is down.

Cons: I've been using this product for several years and I honestly don't have anything negative to say about it. Only issue I ever had was with a ring central phone that wouldn't connect to the wifi and the company sent a replacement.

Overall: Being able to stay in constant communication with clients. Texting allows for more instantaneous responses and clients love it!

Pros: Did a lot of homework for an affordable solution for one issue. I needed to route my business calls through my cell phone without giving away my cell phone number. This software allows that via an easy to use app.

Cons: The only issue you'll have is trying to stay up to date on all the new services they are always providing. I get emails monthly on a new service that is available to me, or an upgrade of some kind, and though I don't need it, I appreciate their effort to stay best in class.

Overall: All I cared about was the ability to route call to my cell (and return calls as needed) without giving my personal cell number out. This service allowed for that, and made it easy. It was a very specific reason for me choosing them. Couldn't be happier!

Pros: There are not many pros to this software, a pro is you can down load this to a mobile phone, as well as a desktop

Another pro is also that you can text.

Cons: The most annoying thing about this thing is that its a phone software, that never lets you answer the phone....

I can answer the phone maybe 3 out of 10 times, which is really really frustrating.

I contacted their customer service more than once and they dont really have the skill set to help you. I did an internet speed test, (even though i know its not my internet, but their "technical service " instead i do it) and also to restart my phone. So yeah that's the technical service you can expect from ring central.

Pros: The software functions for the most part. Mostly plug and play, and I could usually get someone on the phone which was quite often.

Cons: The company uses shady business practices and has hidden auto renew clauses that they keep to themselves. After 4 years as a customer we are closing the business and wanted to down size or completely terminate the service. We were told we would have to keep paying for another 8 Months because unbeknownst to us they kept auto renewing our 1 year contract that we signed 4 yrs ago. Beware this company Super Shady! BAD!!!

Overall: At the end of our experience with this service we learned to stay away and warn others.

Pros: Ring Central is one of the best VOIP systems. There are many integrations (with CRMs like Salesforce for instance) and the interface is easy to use (on your computer or cell phone). The features that the vast majority of companies need are available and easy to set-up.

Cons: There are bugs/issues a bit too often. If your business requires constant phone calls, your phone system's reliability is of the utmost importance. Unfortunately, Ring Central has issues quite often. It's most often resolved quickly, but not always. Also, customer support (especially tech support) isn't as fast/efficient as it should be.

Pros: The software is thoroughly accurate and reliable. If you're often OoO and travel frequently, Ring Central does a great job of managing your phone calls. It's also incredibly easy when accessing calls in your email queue.

Cons: For reasons unbeknownst to me, the app is much easier to use from your desktop computer or laptop. Whenever I need to access the app during travel, it's more difficult to navigate the features. I've resorted to playing the message in my Gmail account, which works much easier than accessing the mobile app. RingCentral needs to sync devices far more seamlessly .

Comments: Overall, if you are looking for a way to take your office phone into the field, this can actually be a nice solution. If you are to become a customer, submit your feedback to them so that they can improve. My company recently stopped using RingCentral, but you may enjoy it.

Pros: RingCentral is a helpful software for directing to the proper people. You can set up customized directories and even have your own voice in the directory.

Cons: The whole software is rather hard to manage in more flexible companies. If you are seeking to use the texting feature, the room for improvement becomes very obvious. The software may be extremely helpful in organizations that have static communications, but if things ever need to change, it is a very difficult process and the customer service is of little help in this situation.

Comments: My company started using RingCentral Office about a year ago and it has completely changed communication within our organization and with our customers! The system is completely online, so no need for a bulky office phone on everyone's desk. There are so many customizable features available through RingCentral that would not be as easily possible through a standard phone system. We are able to have separate lines and voicemail boxes for each person and we are able to alter the order of who receives a general line call first. Working remotely has never been easier with RingCentral! I am able to log in to my phone line on the mobile RingCentral app and take calls, send messages and make phone calls just as if I were at my desk! This feature has truly been life changing in our office!

Pros: ease of use, customizable features, easy to work remotely, mobile app

Cons: Because the system is all online, the system has been down a few times in the past year and a half. It was only down for about 30 minutes, but still frustrating! We were unable to contact customer support at that time either.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are contemplating ditching your standard phone system, consider RingCentral Office! The system has helped streamline our office phone system completely! We are able to customize so many features now that were not possible before RingCentral! My favorite part of RingCentral is their mobile app. I can travel and work remotely but still log into my phone line through the app and be able to communicate with colleagues and customers just like I was at my desk!

Pros: Most softphones systems work great, although, what I really love about RingCentral is their customer support. Cons: As any softphone system, if you internet connection is not working properly, the calls' quality will deminish, so, in general I would recommend you to check your Internet speed before making a call, reset your router or your modem if you're experience a low connection, and then make the call, to ensure the quality.

Overall: A great communication software, great for any company that has a lot of remote users, essential for International Marketing.

Comments: I would not recommend this software as I feel there are other options available with the same features.

Pros: The features on the application are user friendly. You are able to call, text or fax through one application. There is also an application for mobile and tablet devices as well as a desktop version.

Cons: I've been using this software for over a year now and the customer service is lacking and the website is difficult to maneuver to customize the settings which typically resulted in me having to call customer service. They are overseas and there is a lag time in responses and an average phone call for support was never less than 30 minutes. Cons: Ok for the bad...customer service is horrible. Also, faxing...is in the computer and is basically like an email. Takes forever I have to scan the image and save to my computer then open the app find the file attach it and fax it...traditional fax is much easier. Also, the system goes down a lot...I'll try to log on and it cannot find the site...or the support tab doesn't work and of course no one at Ting Central knows anything about it. super painful.

Pros: Ring Central provides a great, web based hub for receiving/sending calls not only within our office, but also with the field. Customer calls to stores can route to our office should they not be answered. Online interface is great for reviewing messages, missed calls, setting up voice recording and connecting with others on the network. The greatest feature is that when a voicemail occurs the system sends an email to the extension with a digital copy of the voicemail along with a transcription of the message; extremely handy for sending along information to the correct departments.

Cons: The Polycom handset we utilize for each desk is not the most intuitive to navigate, but it has the features that are needed and gets the job done; I mostly utilize the web based software as it is far more user friendly.

Pros: With Ring Central, we have one central cloud-based software that keeps us in contact with our customers and vice versa. Each of our employees has their own extension and lets the system know that when they are available to accept calls.

Cons: A couple of times the software has gone down and we had to spend a couple of hours without communicating or responding with our customers.

Overall: The benefits of having a phone service provider to keep in contact with our customers, each employee has their own extension, voicemails, recorded messages, and more.

Pros: I like that we have an online system. It is much easier to utilize , make changes, and keep things up to date on line .

Cons: This software is not very user friendly. It took me forever to figure out where to replace the greeting for the Front Desk when we are closed or when there is a holiday.

We have to call often to get things straightened out with our extensions and like many on line software, sometimes its just better to have some one on site once in awhile to quickly answer some questions or do a little training

Comments: I am a cloud software systems integration and consulting firm with a select portfolio of vendor partners/platforms. I hand-pick, test and evaluate ALL our cloud platforms before recommending to our clients. I've tested MANY telephony solutions and bar none, Ring Central exceeds in performance, stability, user interface, integration w 3rd party platforms, price and more. I have hosted live web calls from my car on a mobile phone and screen shared with attendees located globally and have never had such flawless audio and streaming functionality as Ring Central. The mobile applications are beautifully designed, easy to use, and features that perform better then one typically expects! I also use Ring Central as our company telephony and meeting solution with full Google and CRM integration enabled. Love love love everything about this vendor and the amazing platform they developed. And a bonus......the account representatives and support teams I work with at RC are beyond great, friendly, knowledgable and fast to respond.

Pros: Web meetings are consistently stable, no audio issues, no connectivity challenges or dropped meetings. Audio is crystal clear. IVR and call routing is simple to deploy. Can't say enough about the features! Oh, LOVE the Chat feature and seamless fax functionality!

Cons: Would love to see more global expansion however, since partnering with Ring Central I have witnessed over 10 new countries added so I know they are on it :)

We use Ring Central Daily for incoming and outgoing calls, orders, conference calls, faxing, etc.

Pros: Ease of use and functionality. This system allows us to connect our lines with our cell phones, send faxes straight from our desktops, have several conference calls going at once, check voice mails from our phones or email.

Cons: Nothing to do with the software but when our internet goes our at work so does the phone lines, so if your internet goes down a lot be prepared.

Overall: The ability to work from home or while traveling without being charged a fee. The ability to do everything we need from one platform - calls, faxes, conference calls.

Pros: - liked that it had Salesforce (SFDC) integration

- looked easy to setup and use; customization for extensions

- provides a messaging tool, video conferencing, an all in one solution

Cons: - sfdc integration is weak; calls are not logged and click to dial does not work for many employees

- customer support is the worst. I worked with a specific sales rep and it was great leading up to the point where we signed the contract. After that, impossible to get a response.

- set up for a virtual receptionist is complicated

- setting up departments is complex and the web interface is not intuitive

- training sessions they provide are slow; agent would not cover the areas where I had questions because it was to be covered in a future session. such a waste of time.

Overall: saved some of our sales guys time with logging calls on Salesforce (SFDC)

Does the job. As long as everything is set up, there shouldn't be many more problems.

Pros: - Able to download the call recordings

- Able to see calls for the past 60 days

- Shows Caller ID for the people who called the number

Cons: - Unable to download the voice messages along with the call recordings

- You have to know to choose "Extension" and not "Admin Portal" in order to find the voice messages

- Sometimes the calls don't get transferred over to the number at the office, so there can be many missed calls at one point

Overall: - Ease of use after everything is already set up and you know how to find the recordings.

Comments: I personally don't use it for all my calls due to not having my line setup properly and lack of good internet, and not wanting every call recorded. However all my employees are required to use it, and it works well for them.

Pros: Admin has many options to ensure it's working smoothly. Record all calls, keeps track of them easily. Works well on Mac and iPhone. Very easy to add more lines. It is a very comprehensive ViOP service.

Cons: If you don't have a great internet connection, you'll have trouble with VoIP. Ensure you have someone well versed in IT to make sure it works properly. Can't delete extra lines you sign up for. Hardwire phones and computers when possible to ensure best connection.

Pros: You are able to use a desk phone, desktop app, or mobile app. So you have your business phone with you basically anywhere. The apps all work well for the most part. And pricing is fairly reasonable.

Cons: Requires annual contract in order to get decent pricing. The mobile and desktop apps often don't run after not using for a day or so. Also, the bluetooth always doesn't work on the mobile app each morning and have to reset.

Overall: Have enjoyed using this software. One of the better VOIP providers.

Pros: I use this for making calls. I know it can do more but that's what I use it for. the service is never down. when you log in, it's not very difficult to setup call groups, and all the fancy stuff.

Cons: I seriously have no complaints except that the navigation of the admin UI is kinda hard . For example if you want to mess with the adv settings like change company hours or something it can be kinda hard to find what you need but that's something we only do once or twice a year.

Comments: We've been with RC for over 3 years. Frankly I've never been totally happy with their solution or customer service though that has gotten better over time. My biggest complaint with RC is that they removed a feature that was absolutely critical and replaced it with something worthless. I used to be able to display the CALLED NUMBER plus EXTENSION pressed which meant that I could set different ring tones on my phone for different extensions. They changed the system to offer the calling number plus extension which is worthless because I receive sales and support calls from people whom I have never talked to all the time. I've asked that they add back this feature MANY MANY times and I'm completely ignored. For that reason alone I'm looking for another solution. Our company is growing and I'm tired of pouring money into Ring Central when they apparently don't care about us.

Pros: They support complex business rules, call routing, etc.

Cons: System is complicated to set up. Their desktop soft phone is buggy and they don't listen to their customers. I seem to miss calls frequently - my phone doesn't ring but someone leaves a voice message. This happens with my other employees as well. None of us are happy with RingCentral.

Pros: RingCentral is always improving and growing. I've been with them since 2010 and, in that time, they've released more new functionality, improvements, etc than any other piece of software I use, combined. They are constantly rolling out new stuff, practically every month. The service itself is very reliable and rarely has issues.

Cons: Phone support can be difficult and time consuming. Luckily, their satisfaction forum is well staffed and responsive.

Pros: I appreciate RingCentral's ease of use and functionality after a meeting has begun. It integrates well with cameras and speakers, supports multiple users, and allows for a lot of administrative control. It has excellent integration with phones, too. My company uses RingCentral for monthly meetings, and it always seems to work without a problem. The screen-sharing option is also user-friendly. It seems to have fewer problems syncing up audio and video than other programs that take control of the speakers and microphone, such as Skype.

Cons: Some facets about RingCentral are not user-friendly - the difference betwen "RingCentral for WIndows" and "RingCentral Meetings" is unnecesary, and both could be consolidated into the same program. Likewise, redownloading and running a file that triggers my OS's security warning is not a pleasant way to respond to a meeting request. Its disadvantages all come in launching the program or joining a meeting.

Recommendations to other buyers: The most important thing is to see how well it syncs up with multiple user cameras, microphones, and speakers. Does it launch well under different systems and with different levels of quality? Despite the small difficulties in joining or beginning a meeting, Ringentral operates very well.

Overall great but could use some more refinement.

Pros: Integrates across desktop and mobile apps along with desk phone. Handles both inbound and outbound fax and calls with the same line. Call quality is good and connections are reliable.

Cons: They really REALLY want you to use their Glip service and for a while the iOS app was asking you to rate their app multiple times a week. There's some quirks such as missed calls don't want to sync between the desk phone and the app.

Overall: Business phone and fax with on demand call recording.

Their customer support is extremely helpful. I have always dreaded calling any companies customer service except this one.

Cons: The only downside is that with it being cloud based if your internet is down or bad then your phone service will be as well but you are going to have this issue with any cloud based VOIP not just Ring Central. They are a great company and wouldn't recommend anyone else.

Pros: The ability to have a central office number for all communication and texting is great! It is so helpful to have the app not tied to a single phone, so depending on who is working, they can log in and monitor the office remotely.

Cons: It could be nice to have all of ring central's solutions in one app. I realize they have reason for having them separate, but it would be nice to have them combined so I'm not jumping from one app to another.

Pros: I love that my voicemails are sent directly to my email. This makes listening and looking back on them super easy! I also like that it keeps track of missed calls, calls received, and calls made for quite a while back. I have been very satisfied so far!

Cons: When I get a voicemail it will say that it has gone to my extension when I know that my colleague and I both got the call (so it would be the support extension, not personal). This can make it confusing when trying to distinguish who the call was supposed to go to. It's not a huge deal, just thought it was a little inaccurate in that aspect.

Pros: I love the ability to customize everything within the phone system. This software provides a small to large company the ability to be very agile with their phone systems.

Cons: Difficult to learn the software at first. It is a cumbersome software, that can take some time to set up correctly but once you have it set up it is worth every minute and dime spent doing so.

Pros: I love that we can have a desktop version or have it ring to our cell phones. I also enjoy how easy it is to record personalized messages. Another feature that is great is the fax feature. Being able to send and receives faxes without a fax machine is fantastic.

Cons: I don't like how sometimes it changes the routing of the phone calls without us having changed anything. Currently my line rings straight to my cell phone instead of first going to my desktop and I didn't do anything to make that happen. I wish it didn't do that.

Pros: I like this product a lot! I love that I can use my computer for everything and not need to have a landline phone. I can fax from my phone and receive faxes. I can review everything and save it without ever needing to print it and wasting paper!

Cons: I do not like that if I log into one computer with my extension information, I cannot then go to another computer and log in. I have to deauthorize the computer I was using, and authorize the new computer. This makes it difficult when switching between a desktop and a laptop. I do have unlimited sign ins with smart phones and tablets though.

Pros: VERY easy to set-up! Call forwarding when I am traveling. SMS capabilities. "ring too" is silly easy. GUI instructions/visuals couldn't be any simpler.

Cons: Without physically going in and changing my status, I could receive calls 24/7. Never really found out where to change my "ring" tone.

Overall: I looked at several VOIP services and Ring Central seemed to have "it". Since I work from home I didn't want my personal home number or work cell number out there because then I'd have a difficult time weeding out business vs personal calls. With forwarding I was able to set up different tones depending on the call type, without having to pay for "vanity" numbers.

Digital fax enables you to send faxes right from email. Ability to check voicemails from phone/email is great for remote employees.

Cons: None - I think this feature is fantastic and great for any type of business. Keep in mind that this is internet based, so if internet is down, the phone system will be also.

Comments: Overall this is a nice app that is easy to both manage and use. It appears to be quite flexible depending on each company's needs and allows for call agents to pick up those critical customer calls even when they are on the go. Definitely worth a look!

Likewise, the mobile and desktop apps allow you to make outgoing calls to customers from various phones and your computer. A very nice touch. This app is simple to use and manage.

Pros: Simple to add contacts. You have the ability to have multiple extensions if needed. It is easy to tell where/who the faxes came from and you can respond simply by clicking on the number or contact it came from. You are able to create a cover sheet when uploading the needed file(s). You can easily tell if the full fax was received because it will show the number of pages that are supposed to have come through.

Cons: A couple businesses have had issues sending faxes to us; but the problem is more than likely on their end and not related to RingCentral. Everything else about the software has worked smoothly.

The customer service department is probably the best of all of the CS depts we have to work with regularly. They're incredibly helpful and kind. Everything seems to work well as is planned to. RingCentral, after 15 years, still do not synchronise personal contacts to their Physical Phones!

Comments: You would think that having the ability to synchronise contacts to the phone would be out the box, but unfortunately not. We are expected to manually key in every contact on the phone. You are also expected to do so on every phone in the office!

Pros: The company has good support.

Cons: Do not synchronise personal contacts to their Physical Phones!

Recommendations to other buyers: If you wish to recognise a customer call using CLI without a huge amount of time and effort you might want to consider a different provider.

Pros: There are times where you don't have time to call your voicemail on your phone because you are working. With RingCentral, I can play a message on my speaker and type or do other work simultaneously. I also like that I can quickly forward the message via email to a coworker/supervisor, which also leaves me a paper trail.

Cons: Sometimes there is a bit of a delay for the message to pop up. I know that I had a missed call because I couldn't answer my other line, so I am patiently waiting for that message to appear.

Overall: I love it.

Ring Central is a great system for small businesses. Love the phone App, makes it easy on the go!

Pros: The best part about this software is the phone App. You can control everything from your phone, including calling from your business number from anywhere. Conferencing and Meetings are especially easy from your phone, so missing a meeting due to being stuck in traffic is no longer an excuse! I love Glip, the new messaging ability as well.

Cons: It would be nice to have a little better connection with Gmail, but as far as phone systems go, I get everything I need and more.

Overall: Easy on the go use. It's like you're never away from your desk.

Pros: The system is easy to use and they have a soft phone download feature for headset use. It is convenient and works with other programs as well

Cons: One thing that I am not a fan of but it isn't really a bad thing is that every user has their owner log in information to update the settings. I think it is better to have the option to change settings for all of the users at once.

Pros: I like the recording feature and how easy it is to hear recorded conversations

Cons: The support is terrible. They don't have a clue about the software's ability and fail miserably when trying to troubleshoot. Simple issues take days to resolve. My dedicated "account rep" is just as bad.

Overall: I've been with Ring Central for several years but have decided to switch to a different provider with US based support.

Pros: The ability to have a central office number for all communication and texting is great! It is so helpful to have the app not tied to a single phone, so depending on who is working, they can log in and monitor the office remotely.

Cons: I would love to be able to mark a text message as unread through the app on the computer. You can do it through the app on a phone, but not if you are using the site or the desktop app. It also be great if you could make notations on messages.

Overall: Ability to text with customers from an office-specific number

Pros: I never worry anymore about what if i gets deleted or I have to step out of the office but need my fax that i really need. Great dependable software always there and very easy to use.

Cons: Really nothing that i have bad to say however i do admit their customer service is sometimes a hassle meaning not easy to get a hold of someone quick and a few long hold times.

Comments: Ring Central overall has been worth the money and beneficial to us as a small business. That being said it has had its glitches, some limitations with recording announcements and other slip ups. Customer service always seems to be able to get you straight with a couple of instructions that are always counter intuitive to you figuring it out yourself. But they do get you correct. So all in all in think the value you get with the extras is worth it. You just have to get past a light learning curve to get going.

Pros: Call forwarding to your cell, you can listen to messages from the app, call clients from your cell with your biz number, record calls, have extensions, automated attendant, vanity toll free number, fax number

Cons: Occasionally a robotic tone on line, structure of control panel is counter intuitive, seems sometimes the system was glitchy only to correct itself when customer service started tinkering around, limits on the automated attendant function

Recommendations to other buyers: From my experience, RingCentral seems to be of a decent value and something a small starting business could use to get moving without breaking the bank. Getting one phone with various extensions to our employees seems to do the trick.

Pros: RingCentral allows us to host screen shares with our new customers through out the sales and onboarding process. We can walk through their accounts together with multiple people all across the country.

Cons: The worst part about RingCentral is all of the dropped calls and app crashes. We've been in the middle of meetings where calls have dropped or the app crashes on the customers computer. This is especially challenging in the sales process.

Overall: RingCentral allows us to schedule and host screen shares with our potential and new customers.

Pros: Call clarity is really good if plugged into my company's network, I like that I can be on the phone and jump into a screen-share call within a few minutes without having to hangup the call.

Cons: Call clarity is very poor if using the app anywhere other than my main company network. Probably because I am on Wifi, but still a headache if I try to work from home or am out of the main office for the day. Occasionally, the calls that are sent to my team do not always connect to every team member despite everyone being available for the call. Can be frustrating because a few team members are forced to always take the call then instead of spreading the work load as expected.

Pros: I can fax from my desktop! It's so cool that I can get my faxes in my email rather than having to use a separate machine to clutter my office. I also have my own fax number rather than having to share a fax with the many other people in my office. It comes right to me so I know when I give out my number I won't lose a fax because someone picked it up by mistake.

Pros: Trust me I've looked into other companies and no other will deliver like RingCentral. There's never any service interruption and the price is great for our small business and it gives us the flexibility to look as big or small as we want.

Pros: It works... and doesn't rely on being anywhere or having any infrastructure to continue to work.

Cons: email to FAX only faxes the attachment... and doesn't also fax the email body.

Pros: I don't pay the invoice, I've never needed customer service, and I rarely use video. That being said, I don't think I've ever had a technical issue with RingCentral. It's great for screensharing and conference calls, signal is fantastic. In fact, I downloaded the RingCentral apps for my laptop and iPhone so I can use them remotely. Very convenient!

Cons: The UX is a bit clunky. Sometimes RingCentral creates multiple windows and goes fullscreen, and it takes more than a couple clicks to get things formatted how you want them. Exiting meetings isn't entirely intuitive either. With a few UX edits, I think this tool would be stellar!

Overall: Easy to use, convenient for conference calls and sharing screens
