Pros The search engines mimic most standard search engines, making for ease for training. Have the ability to set up views which is great for people who have a set of documents that they need to see often, thus making it so that you can go into the view rather that setting up new searched every time. Cons Several functions are tied to add-ons that come at additional cost, that would be nice as part of the standard package. You can use M-files program on everywhere like on your computer, iPad and your smart phones. Cons M-files is not user-friendly. You can't get used to it because it doesn't have "file" system. We looked at a half a dozen other products and finally selected MFiles a year ago. Everything is running smoothly now and we only beginning to use all the features of MFiles. Pros Cost and licensing. I used M-Files to fully store my Tax program in my previous position, and loved everything about it. Cons Sometimes M-Files would not link with my documents, whoever, after a little help from M-Files team, everything was back to normal. Pros Easy integration with Microsoft products. Nice UI and workflow manager. Data synchronization between locations is also a useful feature of it all. Cons Tech support is not great. Manual for complex stuff is somewhat non existent. M-files are great for CAD file management but it needs better tutorials and/or examples. It seems like it is great deal but the i takes so much time to hunt down the right information through the website/forums. Pros Good deal of features for the money. Cons Very hard to find relevant information directly from the company. Have to resort to forums for anything complex/tricky. It really helps you to organize your documents and share with required peoples. It is more Professional than similars. Pros User friendly. Supports all kind of documentation. Has relly good sharing options so it helps working groups to work more efficient together. you can use desktop, mobile or web application to reach your files. Poor Support" April 18, 2017 3.0 I love the concept of M-Files. They do tend to overpromise and then fail to support. We were told several things were out of the box. The support staff was extremely painful setting up and then allowing external folks to still have access. With security in mind I have been unable to limit a users security to a class and project as designed. If they improve their communication, training and customer service I believe this software will go far. It is a little expensive. Pros Attaching metadata to documents. Importing objects from external sources. Views are nice but limiting. I have not been able to fully test workflows, but they seem promising Cons Support. For companies, it is safe and easy to setup. For employees, it is inevitable to use. Cons It is not user-friendly. The interface is difficult to understand. There are a few things I would change, the reporting function is not as useful as i would like. It should have more capability to search and export more records. It seems to be a very in-depth program and can be as complex as you would like it to be. As far as getting everything figured out, it does not seem like the most user friendly program to learn. After using it now for about 4 months, I feel as if I have just hit the "tip of the iceberg" for usage and don't really know how to progress even after going through training and looking up multiple videos online to get my questions answered. Some of this could be user error but this is not something I have frequently encountered in the past with other programs. Overall I am neither highly satisfied nor unsatisfied with this product. Cons it could have a few more halt options so people do not end up having to do the same functions twice or even a notification that says it did what you asked. Overall this trial was very informative. Pros The product offers management of documents, handling compliance and easy accessibility to those items which need constant updating or being produced. At first glance it does not look user-friendly, but after spending some time on it nice features can be discovered. Especially the dynamic content management is hard to get used to, but it is very handy when the architecture behind it can be captured. Cons None really, maybe better support for non Windows platforms like OSX and Linux. There are add-ons which cost extra, it would be nice if they were part of the main package. There is a lot of planning that has to go into that process. My client needed a solution implemented yesterday. I highly recommend M-Files. I suggest you get the free trial and see for yourself. Pros When a client needs help managing their files it's usually pretty simple. That is unless that client is using every file storage service under the sun. This is where M-Files comes in. The entire process was painless and required minimal training (Very Important).
